Outstanding!!!! The brown leather cushions ate spot on!!!! I have a real soft spot for the amazing craftsmanship of the arts and craft style. So simple but made to last!!! The secret for keeping them , or anything actually, is to take care of them!!!! I constantly feed and condition my furniture and leather! I would rope it all off if I could 😉 alas a big family makes that difficult so I just follow around constantly cleaning.
I enjoyed that project as well. It's not just about the chair. The whole experience was enjoyable. Meeting new people and making friends along the way.
This restoration is stunning, but the best thing that you've ever found? You'd better make it clear to the Mrs. that this statement does NOT include her! I think that you made an excellent choice in having the cushions professionally done. They look amazing and together with you expert restoration, they have created an heirloom piece. Thanks for this outstanding video. You're a stud, no doubt about it.
I have a 1940's Lincoln desk made by a Chicago area furniture factory, they are pretty valuable, I was given it by a guy moving and didn't have room for it. I don't want to mess it up, If you would want it I live near Cleveland, oh.
2 products I use for rust are Ospho and "Klean Strip concrete and metal prep". Both work great. I think the Ospho may include a rust inhibitor as well...
My grandparents had a couple chairs like that. Oddly enough my grandfather had dug them out of the trash and restored them back in the 60s
Another fine piece of Americana saved from the trash. Well done Tom. Well done. 👍🏼👊🏼

How true. Thanks for your comments.
This is amazing. Brings back memories of when I worked in an interior design shop as a seamstress and upholster.
I didn't know you were an upholsterer Cassie...Thats a great skill to have.
@@AlleyPicked Thanks. Yeah I'm not great but it is very handy to have around the home.
Dang… That came out way better than I thought would be possible. Awesome job!
You did an amazing job bringing that beautiful chair back to life. Outstanding !!
The "Morris Chair", mentioned by Donald Sutherland in the 2004 Salem's Lot mini-series. Great Chair and GREAT Restoration. 😀
I love these chairs. My grandparents kept one and I really liked the wood and metal construction as a kid, growing up in the 70's.
Phenomenal find and project! Makes my day when you upload. Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
Beautiful job
That's a great story. I love it when stuff like that happens.
Yes! Is]ts just as much about the story, experience, and meeting people that makes it great!
That was an awesome restorative! 👍
I see some Quarter sawn oak coming out. Nice job.

Wow. That is awesome. Great job.
Glad you enjoyed it
112 years old! Imagine something made today being able to be restored 112 years from now?
lol...right!
That really was an excellent job all round Tom. Very well done mate, and thanks for showing us.

Thank you for the offer. I live near Chicago. Don't think that will work out but I appreciate it anyway. Tom
As a lover of Crafstman and Arts and Crafts houses and furniture, that chair turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!! What was it you said you used for the rust?

I'm very interested to know if you are keeping the chair or selling it? Great job!!!!
Keeping it for now unless I get an amazing offer :-) It's probably worth $2k
