Me too, ironically I won a one year subscription from a Rob Feretti giveaway, used it for a bit to keep walking roadkill, but found that I just wasn’t logging into it.
They had their reasons. They had mentioned at one point CZcams didn’t make a profit for them because they were putting TV quality production into their videos. It cost too much to produce for the CZcams platform
I dearly miss Roadkill on CZcams. It really was an outstanding show in the early days of CZcams having more of those. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan are great hosts i would absolutely start watching again instantly if it was on here. I think it would be huge if they kept it up.

I'm one of the few boomers that is computer literate, unlike the majority. Of my boomer friends, none of them could competently use a PC. Many have since gotten smartphones, but they skipped over the PC years. And I like your original channel and this one. It's nice to watch young people involved in the automotive realm.
I did away with Cable TV (for a couple of reasons) and just hooked my PC up to my big screen living room TV and watched YT, etc with mouse and keyboard from across the room. TV is dead as is movie theaters
I was an avid watcher of Roadkill fist on CZcams and then on MotorTrend. I was a happy paying subscriber to MotorTrend on Demand but one day they announced that I can no longer renew my subscription because I live in South Africa, and that was the end of that.
I`m sick of being nickeled and dimed to death by all these streaming services. MTOD wasn`t a good deal for the money. I hope Roadkill comes back to CZcams!
That sucks about Freiburger and Finnegan missing out on a boatload of $$$ on CZcams. Met Finnegan at SEMA this past year and the dude was so patient and really took the time to chat with the fans that came to the booth he was at. Those guys, along with their friends like Dulcich, Fred Williams, Dave Chappell, Lucky Costa, Tony Angelo, sure I’m missing a few really deserve more
The last couple of issues of Hot Rod Magazine have been wrapped with a sleeve that said, sort of, that the magazine will be replaced or supplanted by online programming and four semi-annual issues suitable for coffee table duty. Very vague about whether or not the monthly issues will go away. Schmucks. That will mark the end of my 20+ year sub if they do.
Interesting! I have been subscribed to HR magazine for 30 years! I haven't received an issue in at least 6 weeks. I called twice and was told the last issue had the milk truck on the cover. I should be getting a new issue next week! We'll see. What a bunch of crap. 🙄
I was also a 30 year subscriber to both MT and Hot Rod. John Lieberman did me in on MT. He is so condescending to the fan base that does not buy into the EV only lie. Hot Rod electrified the '57, then Frieburger left, the writing was on the wall. It was clear which direction another great pillar of our culture was going.
I was talking to someone yesterday who is in media financing. His clients LOVE CZcams because the audience is pre filtered. He said that it doesn't matter if a channel has 20,000 subscribers if they all are potential customers .

I have been using Roku for years. I just realized this winter that live channels are available through Roku and one of those is a channel dedicated to classic Top Gear episodes 😮 So that channel has been worked into this platform to round out my fix…

Roadkill was always corporate. David and Mike just worked for Petersen publishing. And they still make an episode per month. Just like the beginning and it’s still just as good.

Magazines will come back??? Not likely. When was the last time you saw a magazine section in a grocery store? I used to get gun, motorcycle and woodworking magazines and keep them for reference. I now use youtube and the internet for that.

That was the right move, I looked at getting it to watch Diesel brothers but there just wasn’t enough other content for me to want to sign up. Discovery plus has tons of content so glad it went there. Fast & Loud lives on with great success on CZcams now.

You were the only program i subscribed for. Kept the subscription for the 2 months or so of airing and dropped it. There was absolutely just nothing there that i cant find better on youtube.

It was doomed from the start, They changed the format and feel of the most of the old shows like roadkill when they switched and MT was an awful user experience because it was slow and didnt always play episodes in order.
I had a motortrend+ subscription, but there were only maybe 4 shows I really liked to watch, and they weren’t releasing new content often enough for it to be worth keeping my subscription.
I am not surprised, I really have to say I like the format of the show. You two really work well together, also it does help she is so much easier on the eyes than you are.
I used to clean the windows at the building in Costa Mesa off Monrovia Street were the Motor Trend headquarters. I saw the new models cars and trucks before they hit the commercials. It was one of my better accounts. I did Quicksilver Gotcha, and a couple otherclothing brands too. They were all in the same industrial park in downtown Costa Mesa off Superior. Tyler might remember Zoobies restaurant and Cookoos nest next door. Vandals wrote a song about a big fight broke out between the cowboys at Zubies and the Punk Rockers at Cookoos nest. The punkers won.
How About When MotorTrend Canceled Every Paid Membership Outside North America Without Notice Or Warning? We Had To Do Google Searches Just To Figure Out Why It Stopped Working? And Yeah, We Went Back To Watching Our Favourites On CZcams. Smart Move MotorTrend!!!

When they announced they'd be moving to a paid subscription on an app, I totally signed up only to find out that the episodes would become more sponsor based and more sporadic. Another series that got it's start on CZcams is Hotrod Garage sponsored by UT... Look where that went.
dang - motortrend+ is my go-to. Hoping Discovery+ doesn't mess it up. Glad I've got a day job since I'd be starving if I was trying to youtube! Most of my videos are just documenting mountain bike trails for watching in the off-season or for riders wanting to check out a trail before they go.
i just watched this on CZcams so technically that does make both of you---- youtubers. Successful tubers are personable and relatable so it's no slight being called one.... IMO it means the people who watch you would have you as a friend, and we all know you cannot have too many friends! I feel like this channel is gaining traction- you both have great chemistry so just keep up the great work and it will happen. Cheers!
Problem is bigger streaming companies expect you to buy the full package. Netflix failing Got crazy expensive. Wanting me to pay for a bunch of garbage I didnt want. Need to keep it in packages.

I was pissed at MT when they axed Ed China, then Heather Storm, then Dirt every Day, then Junkyard Gold. But I still drop my $5 /mo for Roadkilll, Hot Rod garage and Roadworthy rescues. I guess I’ll follow to Discovery as long as they keep making new videos.
I paid for MT+ for a few years but after a few show cancellations and losing og TG I eventually cancelled the subscription. There was some amazing content for a while though.
We are filming for a YT channel and just went to do voice overs at a production studio in Florida and found out about all the cancelations... 😪😪 I feel bad for the talent and also all the staff in the studios. I hope they will pick up more work for well produced yt channels?

CZcams content is free so car people come here to watch. I watch the car shows I used to watch on the Networks like Wheeler Dealers, Chasing Classic Cars, etc. on CZcams.
They began their downward turn when they cancelled Head 2 Head. But Motor Trend officially died the moment they stopped doing best drivers car the way they used to, with Worlds Greatest Drag Race.
I have noticed the lack of shows since it switched from the Speed channel. Fortunately Iron Ressurection , and Graveyard Cars is still on. I like Hot Rod Garage too. Streaming is not cheap and I think it's a bit of a rip - off. Several years ago a fellow at Best Buy told me that regular TV would go away, I guess he was correct!
The networks are on life support. They underestimated the auto industry content creators. The shows on motortrend are getting hard to watch anyways. CZcams is where it’s at. I find all I need there.
Cars done Overhaulin’ style are hard and a little over the top. Cars like a 65 Mustang are simple as ever!! There’s loads of room and the interiors are dead simple. I like doing 67-87 C10 or K10s. A few K20s and build my own collection. It’s really easy to strip the truck down, I have two frames for the box and the cab and the rest of the panels are shipped individually to the body shop. I have a chosen shop so I get in easy. I commit to 4 trucks a year minimum, so it’s like I have my own slot. The bodywork always goes back to factory. The paint may not, there are colour changes if the truck isn’t totally numbers matching. Some are Frankentruck from spare parts and the VIN in the cab is the vin for the vehicle. The rust,,,,,, 😂😂😂😂,,, AUGGHHHH,,,, floors, cab mounts, corners and ,,,, haha. I have gotten lucky on a few trucks. While the rest is at the body shop I rebuild the suspension, either rebuild an original powertrain or go with a crate motor and transmission, preferably big blocks. The 502 is such a nice motor!! 😊 I won’t do LS conversions, but if I have a LS truck in the future, I won’t convert it back to a carb from fuel injection as I have seen,, 😂😂. Back *sswards to me!! 😂. So depending on the project, a truck or car can be quick. If you have all your interior pieces they can often be done in a day after the truck is otherwise assembled. The dash can take a few days. I found a whole new “Painless” wiring harness saves a lot of time vs trying to rescue what is there. I don’t want to burn it up after all the work. 😂😂. The rush they create in the show over the interiors is hilarious really,,,,,. To each their own!! The almighty dollar and chasing the maximum possible is changing platforms before they become fully established in the film industry and even the automotive industry. The politicians are kinda finally realizing all EV light service vehicle (personal) sales is not feasible by 2035,,,, they are still hard as hell to change their courses of action though,,,,. They all think they are smarter than the experts,,, especially in the USA due to one individual that apparently is omniscient (in his own very warped mind) and knows his way is the best way for everything,,, even when it killed a few extra million followers that listened him in dire times,,,,. 😂😂. Some Dayi will do an EV conversion on a roller if I find the right one. 😊
I didnt miss them enough to pay for it. I do believe in supporting the car industry, but i cant afford $5 -10 for every streaming service. As hoovie mentioned, it begins to cost more then cable.
Looks like the Motor Trend magazine is close to the grave also. I’ve been a print subscriber for decades and received notification that they are condensing down to 4 issues a year, even though there loyal subscribers paid for 12 magazines a year.
Don’t normally follow this channel but felt compelled to watch and comment. So much to say… As a long time print subscriber and customer, I’ve been slowly pushed away from MT. Putting shows like Roadkill behind a pay wall was a mistake. Recently they announced the print magazine was going away and everything was going online. Another trend is that they were becoming more and more woke, pushing EVs all the time and proclaiming EVs were the next big thing. I’m not drinking the kool aid and I won’t spend anymore if my money on their services. Goodbye and so long MT.
MT abandoned their core print audience by changing to a quarterly cycle. Many old readers for the past thirty (or even 50) years canceled subscriptions. Would love to see a video explaining ❤ MT did what they did. Obviously it's all $$, like any business.
I was upset when Roadkill/etc switched off CZcams, but I understand the economics changed with how they were being compensated so I have subscribed (albeit on and off as there was new content I wanted to watch). I'm concerned the content will be diluted further, and I can't think of any content on Discovery+ I want to watch
Sad that Motortrend+ is going away. I actually watch about 1-2 hours of shows on there every day. Some new content and some old content (Engine Masters, Graveyard Cars, Roadkill shows, and others). I guess EVs are killing all of the car content too.
When they moved away from CZcams, I actually subscribed and paid. Then for some ridiculous reason they stopped anyone from outside of the US watching…. Being in the UK this was great. 😐

I live in Australia and several years ago Motor Trend stopped all people in other countries from subscribing. Very short sighted. Fancy loosing all those customers and then trying to recover all those numbers
It's not dying, it's moving. It makes sense from a monetary standpoint because Discovery is operating two streaming services. Now they're going to one, reducing overhead. Tyler's account of how Roadkill was moved to MT+ is not correct. They started the streaming service and the subscribers had early access to episodes and additional content. It was years before it went exclusively behind a pay wall. At the time, the hosts' employment contracts did not allow them to do their own CZcams stuff (they've all since redone their contracts). Roadkill was ALWAYS owned by what is now the Motor Trend group. While their channel was the largest automotive CZcams channel, it contained Dirt Every Day and Hot Rod Garage, etc. They were never independent, they were always employees of Motor Trend Group. The move to their own service was made because of changes CZcams made to their monetization policy at the time. It was CZcams's own fault that they left.
Overhaulin' story. I had a friend who was very involved in the (now defunct) Seattle Roadster show. They hired Overhaulin' to bring in 'finished' cars from the show. I helped push several (3) in because they did not run, could not run, nor would ever run. It was nothing more the paper mache and personality.
RoadKill was my favorite content on CZcams. but i never watched a single episode when it went behind a pay wall.

Motortrend + was epic when it first launched. Unfortunately it didn’t take long before they turn off the tap to Australia 😢

MT+ did not have a good app, and the website wasn't that great. Plus there's so much available on YT. That's what killed it.

I was pissed at MT when they axed Ed China, then Heather Storm, then Dirt every Day, then Junkyard Gold. But I still drop my $5 /mo for Roadkilll, Hot Rod garage and Roadworthy rescues. I guess I’ll follow to Discovery as long as they keep making new videos.

Got a friend who is on a Motortrend show right now and you wouldn't believe the time commitment and project delays that the show production incurs.
A good reminder for me to catch up on the MotorTrend+ content before it goes away (not signing up for Discovery+).
Same here the discover stuff I watch is on hulu.i pay the 5 for motor trend but I'm not paying 15 for it.

I paid for MT+ for a few years but after a few show cancellations and losing og TG I eventually cancelled the subscription. There was some amazing content for a while though.
I enjoy this show. I love the different topics and, of course, the personalities. Tyler, April, Jake, and Neelix are crushing CZcams.
We are filming for a YT channel and just went to do voice overs at a production studio in Florida and found out about all the cancelations... 😪😪 I feel bad for the talent and also all the staff in the studios. I hope they will pick up more work for well produced yt channels?

CZcams content is free so car people come here to watch. I watch the car shows I used to watch on the Networks like Wheeler Dealers, Chasing Classic Cars, etc. on CZcams.
They began their downward turn when they cancelled Head 2 Head. But Motor Trend officially died the moment they stopped doing best drivers car the way they used to, with Worlds Greatest Drag Race.

I have noticed the lack of shows since it switched from the Speed channel. Fortunately Iron Ressurection , and Graveyard Cars is still on. I like Hot Rod Garage too. Streaming is not cheap and I think it's a bit of a rip - off. Several years ago a fellow at Best Buy told me that regular TV would go away, I guess he was correct!
And before them all, CarTalk!
The networks are on life support. They underestimated the auto industry content creators. The shows on motortrend are getting hard to watch anyways. CZcams is where it’s at. I find all I need there.

I was paying $40 a year which was a great deal. It went up to almost $70 so I canceled. CZcams works for me.
Cars done Overhaulin’ style are hard and a little over the top. Cars like a 65 Mustang are simple as ever!! There’s loads of room and the interiors are dead simple. I like doing 67-87 C10 or K10s. A few K20s and build my own collection. It’s really easy to strip the truck down, I have two frames for the box and the cab and the rest of the panels are shipped individually to the body shop. I have a chosen shop so I get in easy. I commit to 4 trucks a year minimum, so it’s like I have my own slot. The bodywork always goes back to factory. The paint may not, there are colour changes if the truck isn’t totally numbers matching. Some are Frankentruck from spare parts and the VIN in the cab is the vin for the vehicle. The rust,,,,,, 😂😂😂😂,,, AUGGHHHH,,,, floors, cab mounts, corners and ,,,, haha. I have gotten lucky on a few trucks. While the rest is at the body shop I rebuild the suspension, either rebuild an original powertrain or go with a crate motor and transmission, preferably big blocks. The 502 is such a nice motor!! 😊 I won’t do LS conversions, but if I have a LS truck in the future, I won’t convert it back to a carb from fuel injection as I have seen,, 😂😂. Back *sswards to me!! 😂.
So depending on the project, a truck or car can be quick. If you have all your interior pieces they can often be done in a day after the truck is otherwise assembled. The dash can take a few days. I found a whole new “Painless” wiring harness saves a lot of time vs trying to rescue what is there. I don’t want to burn it up after all the work. 😂😂. The rush they create in the show over the interiors is hilarious really,,,,,.
To each their own!! The almighty dollar and chasing the maximum possible is changing platforms before they become fully established in the film industry and even the automotive industry. The politicians are kinda finally realizing all EV light service vehicle (personal) sales is not feasible by 2035,,,, they are still hard as hell to change their courses of action though,,,,. They all think they are smarter than the experts,,, especially in the USA due to one individual that apparently is omniscient (in his own very warped mind) and knows his way is the best way for everything,,, even when it killed a few extra million followers that listened him in dire times,,,,. 😂😂.

I didnt miss them enough to pay for it. I do believe in supporting the car industry, but i cant afford $5 -10 for every streaming service. As hoovie mentioned, it begins to cost more then cable.
Looks like the Motor Trend magazine is close to the grave also. I’ve been a print subscriber for decades and received notification that they are condensing down to 4 issues a year, even though there loyal subscribers paid for 12 magazines a year.

As a long time print subscriber and customer, I’ve been slowly pushed away from MT. Putting shows like Roadkill behind a pay wall was a mistake. Recently they announced the print magazine was going away and everything was going online. Another trend is that they were becoming more and more woke, pushing EVs all the time and proclaiming EVs were the next big thing. I’m not drinking the kool aid and I won’t spend anymore if my money on their services. Goodbye and so long MT.

MT abandoned their core print audience by changing to a quarterly cycle. Many old readers for the past thirty (or even 50) years canceled subscriptions. Would love to see a video explaining ❤ MT did what they did. Obviously it's all $$, like any business.
I was upset when Roadkill/etc switched off CZcams, but I understand the economics changed with how they were being compensated so I have subscribed (albeit on and off as there was new content I wanted to watch). I'm concerned the content will be diluted further, and I can't think of any content on Discovery+ I want to watch
Motortrend’s streaming service was a dumpster fire from the beginning. It never worked correctly for me. It was terrible.
Sad that Motortrend+ is going away. I actually watch about 1-2 hours of shows on there every day. Some new content and some old content (Engine Masters, Graveyard Cars, Roadkill shows, and others). I guess EVs are killing all of the car content too.
Motor trend was ok but in Australia we got kicked of a couple of years ago. The major problem was not having rights for a lot of the content here.
When they moved away from CZcams, I actually subscribed and paid. Then for some ridiculous reason they stopped anyone from outside of the US watching…. Being in the UK this was great. 😐

Went from magazines, gaming, cars / trucks& now #RC we all change overtime. As long as your having fun doesnt matter what you do. Cable by far is the worst thing to watch.

I live in Australia and several years ago Motor Trend stopped all people in other countries from subscribing. Very short sighted. Fancy loosing all those customers and then trying to recover all those numbers

It's not dying, it's moving. It makes sense from a monetary standpoint because Discovery is operating two streaming services. Now they're going to one, reducing overhead.
Tyler's account of how Roadkill was moved to MT+ is not correct. They started the streaming service and the subscribers had early access to episodes and additional content. It was years before it went exclusively behind a pay wall. At the time, the hosts' employment contracts did not allow them to do their own CZcams stuff (they've all since redone their contracts). Roadkill was ALWAYS owned by what is now the Motor Trend group. While their channel was the largest automotive CZcams channel, it contained Dirt Every Day and Hot Rod Garage, etc. They were never independent, they were always employees of Motor Trend Group. The move to their own service was made because of changes CZcams made to their monetization policy at the time. It was CZcams's own fault that they left.

Overhaulin' story. I had a friend who was very involved in the (now defunct) Seattle Roadster show. They hired Overhaulin' to bring in 'finished' cars from the show. I helped push several (3) in because they did not run, could not run, nor would ever run. It was nothing more the paper mache and personality.
