- In this exciting episode of Experts React, former bank robber Camden Pace and police officer Christopher Cano join forces to provide a unique, dual perspective on the popular game Payday 2. Although they have previously shared their individual insights on the game, this time, they'll be working together to give you a comprehensive look at both sides of the story. PAYDAY 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter with RPG elements. Up to four players can cooperate in a heist.
Heists have many dynamic events. For example, guards may have different patrol routes, safes and vaults may be in different locations, and the amount of cash and loot may be different.
Some heists, such as Bank Heist, have different variants depending on the goal (i.e., cash, gold, deposit boxes).
In each heist, players are required to complete objectives, usually in an effort to steal cash, intel, or valuables.
During the heist, the police will assault with waves of enemies in an attempt to eliminate the players. The players must overcome them and complete the objectives before escaping. For some of the heists, a stealth option is available, allowing players to finish a heist without police intervening. But should the alarm be sounded, the police will begin their assault.

3:40 Originally in the game; when you 'convert' cops to fight for your side, there would be a remote bomb strapped to the cops as motivation. The developers changed it to make the game a little more PG-friendly.

Have it not been for the RNG Modifier mod that allowed the vault to be opened surprisingly, I would never know that could happen.

The cops don't just give up to fight. In the original draft of the game you basically strap a bomb to their chest that makes them fight for you. they just decided that was a bit to dark so they went with the black magic route instead.

3:40 Something to note , originally the joker perk (the one that allows you to do this cop surrender thing) had something to do with a bomb collar so it was either help the heisters or go boom boom (this was scrapped for being "too grim" during development so it never reached the public builds)

The armoured car thing is quite timely considering that recent failed attempt in South Africa that was all over the internet.
With the SFA operator, yeah he’s a fucking beast. In South Africa though it’s exponentially more risky than in, say, America. People may try to rob them here in the US, but they know the risk is massive compared to SA where poverty is so much more extreme and crimes like that happen so much more often. Same with home invasions and Murder. It’s sad, but fuck me it takes some balls to be a driver in South Africa.

Like seeing two people who fought on opposite sides in a war just chatting and joking around like old pals.
The funny thing about converting other officers to your side was the Payday crew were originally going to strap bombs to their chest to force them to join their side, but the developers thought that was a bit _too_ dark for even the Payday crew, so instead it was just switched to the crew using their silver tongues to persuade the officers to join them.
And I assume back then terrorist attacks were common so that would have been a HUUUGE backlash

Fun fact, something they don’t exactly mention much anymore, but is still technically canon, they force the officers into a bomb vest when they convert them, it used to be something in the earlier stages of the game, but was (understandably) toned WAAAAAAY down, so now, it’s magic
Since the skill is called 'Jokers' I've always just interpreted it as they were plants by the Payday gang to back them up.

Fun fact, the mechanic of turning surrendered cops to allies is a bit of a remnant of its full concept, specifically the use of an explosive vest. But due to the tonally very dark nature of the concept, what we got is on release's description of the skill of you having a silver tongue that is enough to persuade them. I think there are still remnants of the bomb threat from jokered cop lines like "Damn you for doing this" and "Okay... I'll do it..."

Hey Chris the cop, Payday 2 player here. When you were talking about how the cops in-game fight for the robbers, in the early development of payday 2 when you made a cop surrender, you would put a bomb-vest on them which is why they would fight on you're side. It was deemed too controversial, which is why they scrapped it and made it more like you kinda just convince them and they do it
I didn't know about the bomb thing. Wish they kept it would have made more sense. Now its like you convince a man to betray everything he believed in because he decided your a cool guy.

14:40 Thats actually kinda part of the story. These heists almost always have either inside men, or Bain the mastermind obtain inside information in other ways. Sometimes the player can even purchase these assets, at will.
It is even hinted that there are some people who are inside men for Bain, evidenced in the Captain Winters trailer, a FBI agent gave Solomen Garrett a Kawaii Dozer bobblehead which has a tied in camera to monitor Garrett.

Its really cool to see how supportive they were of each other despite their conflicting backgrounds. The cop reacted in the best way he possibly could in not judging him for what he did in the past. Though there is the fact that its on camera, its still cool to see that they can still respect each other as frenemies.

Most of the world is like this. It's the media and internet that usually like to show people at their worst for ratings and attention. So it kind of stands out when a situation isn't scripted or edited to look bias.

Idk id say his method of bank robbing was moral. Giving the tellers a note containing a threat that he (probably) wouldnt have acted on and getting some money that is insured by the government. And the government wastes our money so why not take some back.
@@sentientbeing8738 Yeah. Of all the serious criminals out there. I'd say bank robbers are probably the "best" if they don't use violent means. Harming, taking hostages, violence or killing changes that completely though.

@@joditiarsutrisno5556 in the game all the weapons apart from the swords and stuff are super customizable. Coincidentally you actually can equip an explosive bolt for your crossbow tho you won't be able to pick it back up off the ground after.
