This video is going into a lockbox
“And put it in a lock box”… This actual real-life debate is the reason why he won the popular vote. Check it out kids.
Lol, 🤔 💭 I can’t believe I’m old enough to think of people under 36-38 yrs as kids. It comes faster than you think it will lol
@@peaceloveharmony7213only me and the joint chiefs of staff know the location of the lockbox
That was great!! Thanks for your smart thoughts ....
What sends this sketch over the top is the clever roasting of the “undecided voter” trope. Man, this was the top tier period of SNL.
3:19 Well Dan, I admire your scepticism. And to be quite honest, I think you’re the perfect profile for a Bush supporter.
There is no Scotch on earth that has aged as finely as this sketch over twenty years.
Shame the show is nothing like this now.
Old political SNL sketches are the best.
When they still shitted on both parties, instead of just ''orange man bad'' these days
@@WackoX1337 probably easier when it isn't trump in office, a president who writes better than they do these days
Excuse moi
@@WackoX1337 you serious bro? This one was peddling so hard for Gore politically while only making fun of him for his mannerisms, rightfully so I might add.
@@WackoX1337 that’s facts dude
That fkn al gore impression my god
Will Ferrell definitely does the best and most hilarious impression of W.
Frank caliendo had a great one too

Steve bridges
@@davidbennett4946 He's pretty good too.
@@davidbennett4946 Yeah Bridges was spot on
First performance of Fallon i've seen where he's not breaking character.
he still sucked
Looked like he was playing mostly himself
Because he fakes it he never actually broke character for.real he did it to look "cute"
@@vonchadwick2632 I do think this too
@@21972012145525 i think it's basically been confirmed by Tracy Morgan
Jorge H.W.B. lmfao
2:31 Have you held elected office? What a stupid question to ask a candidate, of course to become president you need to have held elected... oh wait
Dana Carvey as HW, Will Ferrell and W and Darrell as Gore..fucking comedy gold!
I hear Chris Parnell but he's unrecognizable
For real, its crazy
I knew it!
I KNOW. my ears know it’s chris Parnell but my eyes are like ??? HUH???
Can we all agree that Dana Carvey playing George H.W. Bush is the best impression of all time?
I mean, it's not dead-on, but it's funny
Sounds like him, doesn’t look like him
@@hungrygarfield I mean will Ferrell I’d like a foot taller than W
Yes, good and funny
The H W Bush impression was spot on, lmao
Love how Bush looks lost and confused
It's great that Fallon didn't giggle reading his line.
The undecieded Latino Voter George H. W. Bush ... XD
It's Jorge! :D
@@rafizsadique4299 George is pronounced like that in Spanish
Well Jebs Bush wife is Latino so guess that's now possible 😅
Man, these sketches were the best! Why can't it be like this today?
It’s literally the same
Things have not changed. Darrell Hammond was doing Trump then and Jason Sudeikis was doing Biden, before him it was Kevin Nealon... so that’s different.
Best impressions of gore, W and H W it’s amazing
Watching this in October 2020 after the duel town halls with undecided voters...
20 years later and the topics are still the same
02:24 that face
"Watch me lean"
Chris Parnell’s makeup for this role must have taken sooooo long!
I’m leaning, I’m leaning on the fence Dana is a treasure
24 years later and most of these issues are the exact same things that are being talked about. It’s almost as if these politicians understand that it’s more beneficial to their political career to talk about fixing these problems rather than actually solving them.
IMO, Dana Carvey's George H. W. Bush impression and Will Ferrell's George W. Bush impression are not very accurate at all, but absolutely hilarious, and so they're the best impressions of those people. I've seen more accurate impressions of both, but it's more important to be funny than accurate. Darrell Hammond’s Al Gore is fantastic.
That is a perfect representation of an independent.
Jimmy has a real pete davidson energy vibe here
Our memory of you lives on, Jim Lehrer. If there’s a wonderful place in the afterlife, you’re in it. ✌🏼
Actually Lehrer helped open the door to Trump shenanigans by encouraging candidates to respond to each other in '08 rather than to the moderator. But maybe you prefer our politics to be a circus?
This is one my favorites!
I never thought I’d be so nostalgic for such times. Especially after Bush “won”. But god at least that seemed like real life?
Facts and you're fine
Don't you worry. Only a few more years and Trump can make this country great again.
@@McAppl3d 😂😂😂

there's so MuCh Truth in Humor LMAO godspeed lol...
Dana Carvey is awesome...
Those pink shawls!! 😂😭
0:15 hey mom, it's Pinocchio☝
At 5:40, was that Jimmy Fallon?!
I don't think so
@@martinh88 Seriously?
@@Kaddywompous of course it's him. However the commenter was confused as in this case ,first time in history of his appearance im sure, Jimmy did not break his character. The reason for it was that in late afternon on that day, he suffered a blow to the head by a horse as a result when he mocked it for having such a long face (not realizing the horse was employed in the police force and was also heavily depressed) so naturally he could not understand the text being woozy and all. It took him around 15 years before he could re-learn basic fisher-price-level comedy again. Some people close to him say he never fully recovered.
I say bullshit, for he did not recover AT ALL.
that’s ben shapiro
Agreed!!
Should have included AlGore's personal space invasion moment.
When bush senior comes out 😂😂😂
omg its young fallon
2020 brought me here but I saw it live at the time.
Dana and will are brilliant
3:49 I didn't know Agent Smith worked for the Secret Service
0:45 ...... wow the more things change the more they stay the same
Yup…
Right to choose and health insurance. 22 years ago, same issues.
How is that not actually al gore. It's literally identical
Cant find the 2nd debate
I cant stand the GOP, I think about it way too much. I thought Bush was such a clown until one day while I was TDY to Diego Garcia, both Air Force 1's landed and I got to meet him face to face, I was suprised how down to Earth he was with us, "The Troops". The spelling of my last name leaves me open to many funny attempts at saying it. Bush walked right up to me and said "Hi Sgt ...." and nailed my last name in one shot. I couldnt believe it.
Best part about the visit, we had a young Airmen who always talked shit and my boss told him and all of us dont say anything stupid or act up. We were formed up and Bush walked up to my buddy and my buddy said, "Sir can I give you 2 bucks?" Bush said why do you want to give me 2 bucks? My friend said if any one asks me if I met the President I can say "Met him...shit he owes me 2 bucks."
Still war crime.
Is the guy from @6:10 played by Jimmy Fallon? Because sure looks and sound like him. 🤣
Great young fallon
Who plays Jim Lehrer and why does he look like a ventriloquist doll?
God this is so real now. It’s so sad when we have regressed to SNL skits being reality
after the second/third debate
The townhall debate format needs to die.
Why?
@@juliacaroline751 late to respond, but the format needs to die for the reasons spoofed in this skit. The "regular voters" are mostly plants who are there to shill for their candidates.
0:53 oh my god nothings changed
Nope. Republicans continue to drag us backwards in time
@@SigandGibbs I support pro choice, what I don’t support is women using abortion as a contraceptive. Y’all literally can use birth control and condoms.
@@caught4k493 what
Dana Carvey is unreal as H.W.
Strategery
Actually Al Gore was born on 31 March 1948 so he would have been 52 at the time of this debate. Also, Lockbox.
its over 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They used to be so good at this
anyone know who the secret service guys are? writers or some such?
3:19
2:58
Ah, simpler times...
Why did Jim do this the entire thing?!
No political debate would be even close to Saint Louis these days
Remember when debates were boring?
Al Gore at that time was 52 years old.
Here we are 10 years later .. in the year of an election and still have the same issues as a country .. still working on the same issues . Obviously no progress has been made in the United States in over 10 years 🤦🏼♀️
1:56-2:02: a little bit of Warning of what was to come, perhaps? A forewarning?maybe she should have gotten the hint or all Americans for that matter who watched Saturday Night Live that night.lol
Love this take on "undecided" voters.
Woman on right bottom at 2:16 looks creepy as hell to me.
winstonsmith116 she is on weed
I guess paranoia trip then, bad for her.
I think they are supposed to be the kind of audience you see in real political debates, serious and uneasy. They still do this in SNL now.
Parnel?
Yeah, its Parnell with his Robert Z'Dar mask on.
Anyone watching this now? Heh...timing..debate with trump and biden
HW didn't even bother to change his voice when he was Barbara Bush!!
Back when both candidates were portrayed as equally ridiculous
They still do. The problem is that Trump is too dump!
Honestly, suggesting that someone should vote for your opponent to a person who holds a belief system completely opposite from you might very well be a great idea.
I found the lockbox 🎉
0:27 wtf is that a real face
What in the hell was up with that woman's face in the bg of Kattan and Fallon's questions lol
I miss this type of politics
When SNL was actually funny
Back when the economy hadn't collapsed and W was funny, not a danger to everybody.
Is that Elon Musk behind Chris Kattan?
Young Jimmy Fallon!!!!!!!
Today's news is funnier than this.
Jimmy where he belongs
Vote for gore and not me yet bush won
Welp... gotta cancel Dana Carvey now
Jeez jimmy Fallon was so bad
Ultimately what good is this satire? It doesn’t have any impact on electoral results.
@ 5:25 14 year old Jimmy Fallon is just cute as a button!!🧒🏻☺️
So nobody is gonna address why the hell is the moderators face look swollen 😂🤔🤔
Back when SNL actually made fun of both sides.
When they did actual satire...
Gore should run again. #Gore2024
Back when SNL was funny!
