    I don’t think Clingan lasts until 7. I also think Edey will be a better pro.

    While I have my favorites, I'm not emotionally invested in any one player. Im not an expert and I haven't been able to see the workouts, interviews etc. It will be a fun and interesting draft to watch. Blazers really need to get this draft right.

    I’d be as bold as to take Edey at #7. Someone will jump up and get him before #14. You can’t teach size.

    if holland and clingan are available at 7 i’d trade down to 9 and snag holland. if DA and timelord can play the majority of games and duop can fill where they rest we don’t need a center. if clingan had jokic or sengun potential then yes but he’s gonna be steven adams 2.0 and that’s easy to find on the market

      I'm more interested in Ware than clingan. Not because I think he'll be better, but because I like the idea of a young shooting big growing alongside Scoot.

      The top-level talent next year isn't gonna be at center. We may find someone better than Clingan, Duop, or Ayton, but it's more likely we settle on one of those three and find a franchise PF, SF or SG this year or next year.

    Upside with size is fine as long as the ceiling is not unknown. I still prefer the best shooter that has the most solid defensive chops. Drexler was not a good shooter early but become solid after a few seasons. But he was already a freak at rim running and had great size for his position. So I like upside as long as the dude has an identifiable NBA skill or two

    What's the liklihood Blazers can trade both second round picks for a late first-round?
    Knicks have 24 & 25. Would they be interested in 34 & 40 for 25?

    • @patrickmalarkey2292
      @patrickmalarkey2292 Před 2 měsíci +1

      From a value standpoint that makes sense, but I don't see any team with title aspirations looking to move back in a bad draft. They want players. The only two teams that might make sense for are Washington at 26 so they have more bites or Phoenix at 22 (though it may take a third 2nd Rd pick) as they just need bodies. But I doubt it, as I'm sure they'd rather use those picks to try and trade for an actual player if they could.

  • @rileymcphee9429
    @rileymcphee9429 Před 2 měsíci +5

    I'm getting really tired of every mock trade having the Blazers getting absolutely fleeced and us drafting the riskiest prospects when so many better ones are on the board.
    It's like the media WANTS Portland to be completely incompetent and act as organ donors for the rest of the league.

    • @LockedOnBlazers
      @LockedOnBlazers  Před 2 měsíci +6

      The GM is on the record saying he prefers the big risk/raw upside swing type prospects. This is less about some grand conspiracy and likely more about the actual franchise having a type. It might not be your style, but it’s pretty clearly the team’s.

    • @rileymcphee9429
      @rileymcphee9429 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @LockedOnBlazers I'll say this:
      If Buzelis, Clingan, Knecht, or Holland are on the board at 7 and we choose Cody Williams, we'll regret it.
      And how do you explain every mock trade being "Blazers trade Simons, Grant, 7 & 14, for a free membership to footlocker"?

    • @LockedOnBlazers
      @LockedOnBlazers  Před 2 měsíci +6

      As I mentioned on the show, I am intentional about which mock drafts I choose to share. Life is full of choices. You can pursue nonsense that frustrates you or you can choose to interact with more thoughtful content.

    Last time Portland made a "big move"... Boston received All-Star Jrue Holiday for a bag of potato chips. Jrue helped the Celtics to league's best record, and helped them win the NBA Championship. ... whoops ??

    • @patrickmalarkey2292
      @patrickmalarkey2292 Před 2 měsíci +7

      I wouldn't say whoops at all. Malcolm Brogdon, RWIII and two 1sts isn't exactly potato chips. Brogdon still has trade value, RWIII probably needs a healthy 1st half of the season to get any trade value again. But let's call it a total value of three 1st Rd picks (if you think Brogon and RWIII combined are worth one 1st). Seems good to me, for a team that wasn't going to compete last season and lose Jrue to Free Agency if he stayed.

      @patrickmalarkey2292 Facts, and they got those pieces all while still looking out for Dame and giving him a chance to be a more successful situation. That guy is basically also inadvertently saying he could give 2 sh** if Lillard was traded to the one of the worst teams like Detroit Pistons
