I really liked her character. She looks badass and deserves to be a queen. The look in her eyes is so cold 🥶. She is different, other queens in other viking series are really annoying or pathetic.
After all, she comes from a very good lineage of "you mess with me and you are screwed": emperor charles of West Frankia and princess and duchess Gisla (from the series continuity) and duke Rollo xD!

Still no character inthis show could match Ragnar Lothbrok or Uthred, king Egbert or Alfred. Freydis is less interesting than Lagertha. There is no Floki, no Rollo. I liked this show but it was blank compared to first seasons of Vikings or the Last Kingdom.
@@MyPrideFlag We've only seen one season. In Vikings season 1 Floki was barely developed, Bjorn was just a kid, lagertha wasn't anything crazy and Rollo was a rapist. Ecbert wasn't even in the show. Ragnar is the only exception. What I'm saying is that VV still has a long way and it's actually done a great job imo this first season
Queen Emma was an incredible character. Showing women can lead with logical minds as well as compassion. King Forkbeard was hilarious in things he said. He spoke in brilliance and cleverness simultaneously. His character was my absolute favorite in the entire show. Love ❤ Valhalla Netflix series. Cant wait for next season.
Every scenes she appeared, i thought: "Damn, she's Gisla, Rollo and Emperor Charles combined in one...I love that XD!" Thankfully, this series has made queen Emma justice. And i can't wait to see William the Conqueror in action and imagine Rollo dancing naked on the beach about that! Queen Emma/Laura Berlin was such a surprise given the fact that Freydis has such a huge role in the series. The writers and Laura Berlin did her justice. She’s def a fan favorite along with Leif, Harald, and Freydis.

I went into Vikings Valhalla thinking it will be half baked compared to the original series but the second I saw Queen Emma I was smitten by her beauty and now I'm a proud simp.
I liked her so much in season 1. She was smart, intelligent and strong queen of England, she did everything to save her country and children and found her real love. But I don’t really understand her line in season 2. I can’t believe Emma killed an innocent girl only because of her suspiciousness and fear. The only good thing is the scene with her husband, her eyes was full of love and joy.
She got played by Godwin. He wanted to marry Canute's niece. But the only way Canute would agree is if he promised his approval to Godwin. This guy is so sneaky. He wants his kids to be royalty but the only way he could do that is by marrying into royalty. So Emma's storyline made perfect sense. So she will plan an epic revenge.
You are right, but you have to consider that Emma is in a very dangerous and precarious position: she has married a viking and vikings are not so well seen by the Anglo-Saxons for obvious centenary reasons, so many members of the court might not like this marriage; futhermore while Canute is away to deal with Denmarks' matters she's alone in the court knowing that Godwin has clear ambitions to the England's throne. Perhaps they should have developed this matter more, but it's easy to understand why Emma did it, even though an innocent (?) woman payed with her life.
The other female characters were full of vengeance and revenge which became annoying while Emma is a intelligent monarch. She notices an issue far bigger than religion unlike the Vikings! Whom keep fighting amongst themselves she has a country and family to protect…the Vikings only see and fight about which God is real or not…therefore making her a better leader than them. Of course Canute married her 🎉
That's why I root for the Normans... and when i watch William the Conqueror conquering England and become its "first" king, I shall join Rollo dancing on the beach
I wonder if he really loves her though? I mean if she said she didn’t want to marry he would probably have killed her you think ? He needed to marry her to secure the kingdom while he was away. 🤷♀️ but I hope we see in season 2 him being deserving of her love
According to history they actually were in love. Cnut saved her children and they got married and she also feels a viking connection as she is the great granddaughter of Rollo.
@@mianhussain2357 historically Emma and her children ran away to Normandy when Cnut invaded. Emma then abandoned her children to marry Cnut. Cnut also send Edmund Ironside’s infant sons to Sweden to be murdered, he also murdered Edmund’s brother Eadwig.

Realy like her. Shes smart, shows respect and doesnt act pathetic like lots of other queens or kings do.
She was my favorite character in the show by far, I was disappointed she didn’t get more screen time. What an icon.
