A few years ago, most of these characters were basically strangers to each other, we could unlock voice logs of them talking about others, but never really see a lot of em, let alone see them interact. This Lantern Rite shows how far we've gone since then. It almost had everything I wanted for this event.
The last thing I have on my Lantern Rite bucket list is to see Hu Tao and Zhongli interact with Qiqi and Baizhu.
Zhongli interacted with Baizhu a long time ago in the archon quest
Zhongli already interacted with Baizhu and Qiqi during the second Archon quest.
I want zhongli venti interaction, which hopefully we'll get today
The first lantern rite was pretty painful, cause it was only Xiao.
Another interaction I can't believe we haven't seen yet, is Hu Tao and Ganyu. Their JP VAs are literally best friends since childhood, and play Genshin together. It's legit criminal that they don't have a voiceline, nor interaction yet.
Xiao and Kazuha would be cool as well, for same reasons, best friend VAs

Seeing Yelan and Xiao continue to work during the Lantren Rite,it feels kind of in their character. At the same time they are lonely, which is a bit sad, I hope that in future updates there will be an event where Yelan and Xiao will celebrate and have fun with others.
the last time they got together they almost got sealed below the chasm, yeah you're right they kinda deserve to relax even for a bit

Its sad but I think that is the way that they are. And just because they're working doesn't mean they're not feeling the holiday atmosphere. I personally thought seeing them still working during the cutscene was the story showing that they're working even harder so everyone's holiday remain unspoiled. Kind of like the people who have to pull shifts over Christmas to keep things running while everyone else is at home. Plus (spoiler for the epilogue) at least Xiao got to attend Hu Tao's banquet...
Okay can we talk about how Genshin literally nailed the conducting patterns right when Dvorak conducts the orchestra?! That's going above and beyond!
It'd be weirder if they didn't get that right, considering they have an entire team dedicated to making orchestral recordings for their OSTs lol

It's good to see Xinyan being featured in more and more quests. I hope we get to see more of Amber too, she's one of the earliest characters that guided us into the world of Teyvat !

Honestly, hu tao’s rap wasn’t AWFUL, the rhymes got lost in translation and is 100% not the voice actors fault, but other then the not amazing rap from hu tao, xinyan’s voice actor KILLED IT! the rasp in her voice while singing was just perfect

Seeing Ganyu as a main character in this quest was, in her own words, long overdue, because what we got was some really nice and desperately needed character development for her. I'm really glad that we as players are finally seeing our positive impact on her self confidence and her sense of belonging among the people of Liyue.
I wish there were more people like you talking about this. All people seem to focus on is Xiao, Shenhe, & Hu Tao. Ganyu feels very underappreciated.

Her voicelines can already have her saying some insightful things as you can see how much she cherishes life. I've seen many comments talking on how boring she is and how she just a basic overworked waifu when she is having an identity crisis going on. This event felt like a part 2 in her story quest.

Every single time I watch any year of the lantern rite, or just simply listening to the music within them, I can't help but get myself teary-eyed. The lantern rite is just simply a beautiful and magnificent event with just the most incredible music.

Literally too lol. But jokes aside, that's how i partially felt too. Aside from Xiao and maybe Zhongli, they felt strangely distant and disconnected in the exact way we humans tend to see non-human deities like them. As though they could easily handle whatever trouble stands in their way without much problem aside from death or physical/cursed suffering of Karmic Debt.
It's a comforting thought that beings as powerful and supposedly omnipotent as they, could also experience grief and cling onto emotions the same ways we do. I think it tends to get misunderstood due to how exaggerated they express their emotions in their own 'godly' manner. If that makes sense.

This whole event was spectacular, emotional, cheerful, heartwarming and hella fun. YaoYao being the cutest, the emotional story of guizhong and Madame ping brought tears to my eyes, seeing all the liyue characters together enjoying the lantern rite festival was just so beautiful.
I play Genshin Impact purely for its story, scenery, and music, and till now it has never disappointed me. I’m grateful to have lived in this era where so many wonderful games exist. Thank you Hoyoverse, Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year !!!! Happy Latern Rite !!!!!

Latern Rite always gets it right. Always brings a story we can all relate to.
I genuinely love the lantern rite so much it’s one of the only times you can see all of travelers connections all coming together to celebrate a night of remembrance and joy where all the characters each have a moment to have peace and watch the fireworks. It brings back the memories of the year prior because of the immense joy or peace that was captured in that one special night that only happens once every year. The whole event always has a warm and comforting aroma because the themes are usually lighthearted and sweet (ex. setting up a music festival, helping a friend fit in or work less) the event may be about remembrance but I see it as a time of celebration where you can spend one whole night just being happy with no cares no worries and no problems. Each year a new cut scene comes out with a whole different story but it always ends the same, with fireworks. This is as if to show that it maybe a completely different plot with different “main characters” it’s still the same celebration in the end with the same message. No matter what everyone deserves a night to celebrate even if that’s just sitting down to watch the fireworks or catching up with an old friend. In the end each lantern rite is the same in a way.

I really appreciated the VA for Mr. Dvorak, I found his voice very pleasing to hear.
That would be Mr. Marco "Meatball"! Check out his CZcams channel, he is actually a former pro opera singer and he has done a good few vids analyzing some of Genshin's music! And now his dream came true when he got cast for Dvorak and another NPC in Genshin!
Look up MarcoMeatball on CZcams! He's the voice, and he is a former pro opera singer who now does music analysis videos for video game music (a lot of Genshin ones; he loves the music in it). He's wanted to voice act a Genshin character for a while now, and he finally got his chance with Dvorak and a Sumeru NPC.

Liyue has always been and still is my favourite region. I love all these characters so much. It just feels like home. Honestly, Liyue story quests never miss.
Liyue characters is also home to some of the most OP characters, even has a weapon that the passive is activated if a certain number of liyue char is in the party
Definitely because it’s based of Chinese culture where the developers are from I think they put a lot more love into it to make it really special

I have an emotional attachment to Liyue. When the characters from Liyue are cheerful it cheers me up.
The story of Guizhong (which I personally was very excited for) and this cutscene genshin never disappoint. This was such an amazing lantern rite seeing every character enjoy. It was truly a blessing lantern rite. The story that Liyue characters share is kinda very attached to my heart. I just don't know even words could not define this lantern rite and hoping for a good next one. Happy lantern rite everyone.
It's wonderful how they've woven in all these character appearances despite the ever growing roster

This was my first Lantern Rite and everything was so beautiful... but the moment Dvorak started playing with more passion after hearing Madame Ping's song, I got some tears in my eyes especially because the past 2 years I had an absolute horrible New Year's Eve. This quest in the game, made me feel a little bit of that new year's "magic" even if it's just an illusion for a brief moment.. so thank you.

I Love the lantern rite so much, I only stared playing about 5 months ago, but I was so excited for this occasion! I love how this festival just brings everyone together , and everyone just seems so happy and enjoy themselves! Thank you

You even gave me the singing and music cut scene I have been waiting for. And to top it off its dubbed in 4 languages.

I loved this cut scene so much! I feel the Liyue lores and festivals are so beautifully made since it has a home court advantage. Loved seeing all the Liyue characters!!

Venti was in the trailer for this year's Lantern Rite, this is only the halfway point of the event, remember, Xinyan was put in charge of the OPENING act of the music festival, not the closing
@@Azure_Iolite Doesn't it say in the event that this was the last part. It only shows 2 parts. Also yeah Xinyan was in charge of the OPENING act but Dvorak was in charge of the closing
@@johanneseure6761 again, remember the trailer, Venti is supposed to take part in the music festival, the devs said in the livestream that friends from afar are supposed to make an appearance at this Lantern Rite, not to mention the banquet Hu Tao mentioned, which as we see in the trailer, is to include Zhongli, Xiao, and I believe I saw Xingqui there too, plus there's still a loose end with Yelan's role in the story and her investigation, based on her reaction after we caught that thief, we apparently weren't supposed to know about that case at all
all the animations, even in the background are so smooth and well done. Guoba vibing is adorable
Genshin never fails to give me goosebumps with their cutscenes.My laptop can't handle cutscenes for god knows what reason.So I just watch it on CZcams.But boy do I wish I could've watched in my laptop.Genshin never disappoints me with events.Thsnk you

The only thing i have to say is that hutao and xinyan's preformance felt too short so you couldn't get used to the singing before it was over.

another best lantern rite event ever :(..it hurts when the quest ended i wish i could repeat it it was really beautiful every character got there scene and madam ping and guizhong too the story was so sad but the art was visually amazing ..
