This was such a sweet walk down memory lane for me. When my husband I were dating he lived in Willits and I lived in Willows we would drive back and forth to see each other on the weekends for over a year. I remember driving this road to see him!
When we got married I moved to Willits with him and two of our three babies were born in Ukiah!
We have been married for 20 years now! Thank you for this video! I really enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for all your videos! You’re a big reason I drove my car from Cincinnati to San Francisco last year to see some of California’s incredible scenery.
Would you consider making a “compilation” video? I love putting these videos on the big screen and having them on in the background

I didn't realize people wanted compilation videos. I've thought about doing some, but now I know some people want to see them, time to maybe consider doing it!

Very familiar country. I was born and grew up in Ukiah. In the early ‘70s I moved to the Bay Area looking for work. I’ve been there since.

Nice journey on CA 20. & judging from the trucks using it, it's safe to say to it's a safe drive for drivers too.

Great trip, Kyle. CA20 looks sort of like CA49 in parts, very scenic and rural and a part of California that many don’t know exists.
I’m leaning to appreciate roundabouts. There’s lots of them in Sedona, AZ and they make U turns really easy.

As a kid my brother and I would spend all summer at Clear Lake at my Grandfathers place.

Hopefully Clear Lake doesn't turn into another Lake Tahoe.

I think the drive was more Clear Lake to Redwood Valley than Ukiah but the drive still looks much the same as it did decades ago.

It was great seeing this drive in the morning. My trips through there always seemed to happen in the late afternoon, when the lighting is much different.
I was wondering, do you know if Clear Lake is still badly polluted? A few years ago, the water was supposedly so nasty, that officials were telling folks not to swim in it. As a result, the entire area was turning into a slum. It was listed as the most economically depressed area in the State. Has the area turned around? It was such a wonderful place to visit, when I was a kid.

Do you remember why people were told not to swim? The lake does have a variety of algal blooms that can vary from year to year but sometimes one such as blue green algal blooms can be large enough that mycobacteria toxins in the water from it can result in people being told to avoid an area until it subsides (it also occurs in many other waterways too). Lake County has also been one of the more economically depressed areas in the state for a long time plus has taken some hits from wildfires and drugs (as much of our country) but overall may still be very much the same as you remember as a kid even though your adult eyes may see things a bit differently now. There are still great places to visit there.

America needs more roundabouts being built, and opened to motor vehicle traffic.

Interesting topic! I'm on the fence about them. To each their own though.

Dislike round about.. as an older adult I feel they are dangerous. Prefer a 4 way stop. People drive to fast for them. Just my opinion 🙂
