Ronaldo carried Portugal from not being able to even qualify for the world cup prior to his joining, to then qualifying for all world cups since and getting to semi finals and quarter finals, wining the euros in 2016 and the nations league, the only two international titles Portugal has won. Portugal has no history at world cups, 8 times they qualified and 2 times getting eliminated at semifinals, 5 times qualified with cristiano. Portugal only has 2 titles in their whole history 0 world cups. on the other hand you got Argentina with 18 titles total and 2 times won the world cup well now 3 of course it was a matter of time Messi was going to win the world cup, besides all those penalties they got as gifts, I never saw a national team getting too many penalties it was 5 from 7 games

I already knew Cristiano by the world cup 2006 from watching Man united games, but first time I knew Messi was at this world cup and i just saw number 19 on his shirt and remembered he was i think 19 years old in this world cup and back then I was 14, it's crazy how I was here since the begining and i am glad that i was bcuz i wouldn't change it for the world ❤️

To those who claims that Messi didn't work as hard as Ronaldo to be the best they are clearly blind. In this game you can see how a young Messi was a bit clumsy with his passes. Today this clumsiness has disappeared and he's become more accurate and consistent in his passings. If this isn't progress I don't know what is.
I think they say that because messi is seen playing with his kids or hanging out outside his house more, plus his body is not nearly as good of shape as ronaldo’s is in. But maybe that’s because he works more efficiently

Messi find it easier to retain his form Dan Cr7 bcoz of his age, he retained his natural body so, no matter what he's still flowing in his innate talent. Then Messi learnt and grew with Genius in Barca and he's a genius. Ronaldo Designed his Game, Added Muscles which affected his dribbles coz it took off his Flexible body feints. Which Messi all retain coz of Maintaining his body..... Again Cr7 works out a lot which Messi don't and More Social Messi don't, it's why People feels Messi don't work.... Messi Works more on Technicality while Cr7 do more of the Shots, Body building and Physicality with a technical training. These all shows in their games. Cr7 decline now, is as a result of age and Psychological issues I believe coz he was extremely living at his shadow so sad, while Messi was still actively active. I pray Ronaldo gets his form back.
But the point is Ronaldo works harder than Messi to be the best.

At least in terms of dribbling, he already had all the skills at this age. His decision making is clearly not as developed here and he turns the ball over more, but you can see the Ball Control/Dribbling/Agility/Balance is just insane even at 18.
