I woke up at 4 am from missed calls from my family in Kyiv. They were woken up by explosions and planes. We were planning their evacuation. They were horrified to stay and to leave as well. We didn’t know how it would develop. We were saying goodbye and didn’t know for how long. This song describes what every family went through in the first hours of the war.

For you to understand more “Antytila” is Ukrainian music band means in Ukrainian “Antibodies”. The frontman (Taras Topolia) is actually at war now fighting with others to protect the country against Russian invasion. Also he was signing in Ukrainian, that is Ukraine’s official language. And the building is the actual destroyed Theatre in Ukrainian city Irpin. Same as destroyed Drama Theatre that was bombed in the city of Mariupol on March 16th. More than 600 people died in the theatre shelling from airstrikes. Good video 👍🏻

Thank you for support! Yeah, Ukranian civilians too are kinda have to get used to all this stuff. I think now the majority of Ukranians are working through air raid alarms (in spite that you never know where it gonna hit), I do cause otherwise I won't be able to get anything done (the longest alarm we had was 6 hours - and there are no russians on the territory of our region). It is relatively quiet in our town (kinda, if you don't count 3 missile hits), but people are also working and living in hot areas. So international support is very very appreciated and really, really needed! Thanks and the best of luck !

I’ve taken to watching Antytila’s music video for LEGO, which is an OST for a movie President Zelensky was in before he was elected, to keep fresh the change that Ukrainians have gone through and the hope that one day they can have that kind of fun again. I also watch this video daily. When you are removed from the issue, as we are in the US, I think it is important to do what we can to keep an atrocity like this in the forefront of our minds, because this is a life and death situation that shouldn’t be allowed to fade from importance or become a new normal. Your honest reaction and the points you made hopefully engage more Americans to be invested in this fight.

Yes he is a Medic, experiences the worst of it. Three members of Antytila band - Taras Topolia, Serhiy Vusyk, and Dmytro Zholud are volunteer paramedics fighting as part of the 130th Battalion of Territorial Defense Forces. The other 2 members Mykhailo Chyrko and Dmytro Vodovozov are volunteers in Kyiv area collecting supplies and delivering to the frontline..

Taras Topolia , of Antytila , sings an added verse in Ukrainian which he wrote. He filmed his part of the video on an open road in Kharkiv with the help of his fellow band members and a GoPro camera. They stopped for 10 minutes to record this video and then left because it was dangerous to stay too long in an exposed spot.
