Thanks for a great video. The Google drive backup add-on is awesome. I think EVERYONE using HA should install this. You can sleep easy with it. I'm surprised it's not an official add-on. It's high quality. You can even create automating to respond to is success or failure.
thanks for the video. I would have liked the video to include and highlight the methods of supported the creator of that addon. It is offered free to use, but support the developers of the apps you use.
Do i have to setup the automatic backup before i install the Google Drive addon or is it enough with the Google Drive addon to make backups and store them on my Google Drive...?
Thanks for your videos they helped me a lot. I have a question how to replace an old or broken esp8266 connected to HA ESPHome. I would replace the WeMos d1 mini with the same one. But I'm also interested in how to replace it with esp32 or some other device. What is the best way to do this by staying the same name and associated with the same automations?
I have not seen a way to do that with any add-ons or integrations. Samba, Dropbox, and Google Drive are the easiest and only ones that I know of, unless you are backing up at an OS level and can use those type tools.
I have been using google backup drive past year or more. Suddenly it says "Google drive is full" I even deleted everything in my Google drive. 2 (32.7 GB) in Home Assistant 894.1 GB remaining info 1 (23.0 MB) in Google- Drive 18.7 GB remaining info still will not sync? I created a new Google drive under new email. It shows FULL !!!!
This addon doesnt work for me. When trying to install on new Home Assistant, it says "AddonManager.install blocked from execution, system is not healthy". Also this addon stopped working on my other Home Assistant system some time ago. Anyone knows how to solve it?

Agreed. Samba backup is nice, too, if you have a local storage option. Not sure why Google Drive isn't a core add-on.

You can remove the old device and just name the new device exactly the same. I do this when a z-wave device fails.
