The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T Manual Is A Perfectly Balanced Purist Sports Car

- With so many flavors, the #Porsche911 is a near perfect sports car made for enthusiasts. For 2023, #Porsche is expanding the family with the #911CarreraT, with the #CarreraT serving as the cheapest way to get a #911Carrera in the 7-speed manual form. Despite having only the base 379 HP twin-turbo F-6, this #911T offers plenty of thrills for most enthusiasts.

This has to be the best overall vehicle made today. The balance between raw speed, simplicity, and aggression is absolutely sublime.
Rob is still waiting for me to catch up in the Type R 🤣
Kirk please review the 911 T also! You and Sofyan both are magnificent!!
I don't see the value or benefit for anyone to negatively judge others because they want to and can afford to buy any Porsche.
Owning a sports car is for fun, and I can support that. We have way too much negativity in our discourse as it is. Let's appreciate that we have the opportunity to explore this hobby now and that great cars are available for all interested buyers.
You can get a tune on this engine from a number of shops at this point. I love the simplicity of the T and, yes, it already has plenty of power out of the box. That said, Porsche's pricing is downright criminal. They have no shame when it comes to price gouging.
Watching this I just went on their site to configure one for fun (as I can't afford it for real). Around $115k to start, and you can easily get $20k worth of options on a car that should have them standard for 6-digit price tag.
I understand this is for a different target demographic, but come on...
I agree 100%.
You can buy a corvette if you want to save some money. Or there are lots of used Porsche sports cars. But there are no cars like a Porsche 911.
@@jeffreykilpatrick3592 You won't find any deals on the pre-owned market either. Porsche buyers are too willing to overpay and that isn't going to end anytime soon. I actually would consider a C8 Corvette at some point. It's the performance car bargain of the century.
you know why? because CZcams is full of narcissistic idiots that flexes their ego by owning a a Porsche(usually GT3 or Turbo) because those wannabe "purists" do not settle for less. So Porsche is doing what any other company there would do: overcharging :) There are channels that literally review just Porsche cars: "with my Porsche for a coffee" , "with my Porsche for for a trio with my girlfriend"..
The gold standard in reviews. Thank you for your professionalism and excellent reviews.
Btw, you have an European spec. The standard Carrera in Europe does NOT have a rear camera. Only US cars do (hence why it doesn’t come up).
Not offering a surround camera system on a $150K car is criminal. I could understand a camera delete option for free for the track enthusiasts.
@@jojosaves sorround camera is not standard but it’s is offered? Maybe $1k?! Not sure.
As a viewer since Day 1 Mr Bey always putting out a superior video& production, That color is totally awesome!
It's got the solid-sounding thunk ✅ Horn sounds really good. ✅ Add to cart 💸 🛒
Love the color, reminds me of the Krypton green that GM had for the Camaro.
I say it all the time…love your reviews, Soyfan you are the best in the game! Would like to suggest you ask your camera-dude to stop doing all the quick zoom in/zoom out shots. I feel he is trying to practice his Iron Man or Superman movie camera tricks.
Good review!
I will own a Porsche one day. Swear I will
Getting my python green T delivered in june...unfortunately the rear wing is unavailable, but still excited 😁
Congrats on your new T! Mine is also Python Green and ETA is early May. I didn’t opt for Aero Kit but Porsche rejected to add Aero Kit who added Aero Kit after 25th of January 2023. I read thread from Rennlist.
Great quality review, probably the best so far on the T, very complete!
Its a 911. Perfect luxurious sports car that can be driven everyday
Good to see Rob back
Wow what a beautiful car 😍🔥
Good video thanks for posting… I have a Carrera S because I wanted a manual transmission I didn’t know when the Carrera T was coming. Just one point of clarification sport chrono and Porsche torque vectoring are already included in a C2S MT, so I don’t believe it will come to $20,000 additional to spec it similarly.
Sofyan calling Rob a fatty, hilarious!
The base engine actually spins up faster than the S which only has larger fan blades. My new T will cost me $149,700 - with all kinds of great options.
Why is the similar engine 3.0 on T or on S reving better on a T?
@@alb3096 again - the S has larger diameter turbo blades essentially than the T engine- this does produce around 50 more hp- but the larger blades don’t seem to provide the same immediate burst of speed like the smaller diameter blades on the T.
Can’t wait for mine to arrive , being told April / may . My freeze date is on the 28th of feb and immmmm excited LOL
We need more cars like this! ❤
I noticed the rear turn signal indicator lamp is now amber. Is that new for 2023, or something that is only for model T?
Is there launch control with the manual? or did you manually do it?
If you don't need the backseats and want a purist experience it makes much more sense to get the Boxster GTS 4. You will get a fully loaded for less with the amazing NA 4L.
The Boxster is just not as good-looking, though. Like not even close.
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 disagree I think it’s better looking. Aside from the GT3, all the other versions have a gaping front grille and a plastic filled rear diffuser. Looks cheap as f**k. Easily reminds me of some significantly cheaper econoboxes
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 OK. 👍🏼
Sofyan… your closing in on a million ! Love your reviews brother … one of the best in the business
The T makes sense for a 911 daily driver, but I spec’d a Cayman GTS 4.0 for $20K less and that’s what I’d get if I drank the Kool Aid and bought a Porsche.
What are have you got instead?
10000%. What is the point of the 911T when you can get the 718 GTS for far cheaper, with a mid-engine. Yea. The 718 has a pretty spartan inrerior, but it will drive better and is faster. Correct in that 0-60 in 4.5 is all you really need. But the power boost from the 718 from a cheaper standpoint is nice.
Most of the weight difference is the manual trans vs a PDK. The other weight savings is minimal.
With a 911 Carrera T avoiding 18 way electric seats and taking the "basic seats" is also very usable for getting a sports car as light as possible. Also the optional carbon fibre roof would be very useful to avoid mass at the highest point of the vehicle, for even bringing down the center of gravity.
Yes, I have had my eye on a 911, and unfortunately it will remain that way. If I had the means this would be about the perfect spec.
Porsche, all about "Smiles per Mile"............Cheers
This or the targa is my dream car. Good review as always
The bucket seats are unfortunately not offered on the configurator at this time
Love it. Simple sports cars with manual transmission are the best
Next review I think you should start about 100 feet away from the car, take your small slow steps towards it, and finally reach the car by the end of the review. 😉
1:43 you are picking a color "for the attention" the car gets. But I am on a back road enjoying mine with nobody around to see it, not cruising back and forth on a boulevard in town for the "hey, look at me" scenario.
That color! I love the 911!
But the green stitching and belts available inside is not Python green, but Viper green which is more green/yellow tint, and does not match the Viper green exterior.
Sorry, stitching is lizard green.
It's Lizard Green stitching and belts
@@joe718gt4 sorry yes that’s correct - thanks. But still doesn’t match the Viper Green exterior. It’s more more yellow or neon than the exterior.
@golfbuddy1969 yeah you'd have to go CXX if they allow it. I thought of going Python on Lizard, but now I want Rubystar Neo with yellow belts and Rubystar Neo trim. Actually saves a couple of thousand too
please review the 718 Cayman T now!! I’m looking to order one
Only Gts and Gt4 are being allocated at the moment. 718 production is almost over
@@fadablayne source?!
Porsche can't do no wrong 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
If all Carreras were priced the same, I wonder which model "new" first time owners would take? That would be interesting.
Porsche is watching this video and feels disrespected that there is a guy with a TypeR jacket in the passenger seat of their car 🤣😂
Let’s go southwest crew!
Distinctively Porsche! One German car I’d love to own.
Sweet!!!!
If Porsche made a manual available in the base Carrera, there would be no need for this variant. Realistically, a 100lb weight savings and a noisier cabin does not morph a GT car into a sports car.
Topgun. #1. 😎🇩🇪
Love Porsche but out of my budget and practicality range.
Great video, Sofyan. The manual transmission is the only way to go in a Porsche.
Nope, it's inferior.
This is peak combustion engine car before whole industry move to electric.
Car costs 160k here easy after taxes. Goes 4.3 at best seems slow for what your getting now. Needs to be in the 3’s for that kind of money
It's like a Mustang with better handling and quality but three times the cost. I'll take the Mustang sport package for every day driving unless I'm going on the track or windy roads all the time.
Both are great cars...I sold a 997 X51 911S a few years ago to get a Shelby GT350, and recently sold a GT500 Shelby that will be replaced by a GT Touring. Handling, MT and interior finish on the P Cars are better. The 5.2V8 sounds better than the flat 6 and has way more oomph.
Out of interest, was it necessary to change into 3rd when doing the 0-60 time?
If they could get the price down to 75k (what it's actually worth without Porche's crazy profit margins) they would sell alot more of them
The accents are titanium color not agate. The fixed wing is called an “aero kit” in flat black or gloss black. Also I have been driving a 2021 Targa4 for over a year and without the front end lift. And I have never scrapped my front end in over 17,000 miles. Why? Because I drive in and out of driveways at an angle and also the same with speed bumps. The sound of the engine improves over the first 6,000 plus miles. More crackles and pops on downshifts.
Definitely the best car in the lineup. By the way the hp is 389 not 380.
Actually, those are agate accents. Check their website
Wheels are titanium, but the painted body accents are agate
Also note: the T sits 10mm lower than your car so is more likely to scrape even when approaching driveways at an angle.
my infiniti q50 red sport was 0-60 in 4.5.
Watching this I just went on their site to configure one for fun (as I can't afford it for real). Around $115k to start, and you can easily get $20k worth of options on a car that should have them standard for 6-digit price tag.
I understand this is for a different target demographic, but come on...
What do you expect...? A Porsche 911 sports car for Kia money?
What's the problem with so many Americans?
Porsche is producing the best sports cars out there, and of course these cars don't come cheap, period!
This is just a fact. Always complaining about these things is so fucking annoying.
Do you want the "right for getting a brandnew Porsche 911 for only 60.000 Dollars"?
For example, a shitty built and unreliable Aston Martin Vantage would cost you more than double or threetimes the price of a Porsche 911 model, which of course is way better built and of course faster than an Aston Martin.
Why are so many Americans complaining about Porsche 911 prices, but not about stupidly high Aston Martin prices??? I don't get it.
A Porsche 911 is worth every penny of its prize, dude!
Greetings from Stuttgart, Germany
@@user-jf8gd3lv7q Get off your soapbox there Mr. Stuttgart. You're clearly not subjective about this topic at all.
Furthermore, I'm not an American, but thanks a lot for making the assumption. :)
Nobody said they should cost $60k. Nor do I expect every feature. But the issue is they START at $115k for a sub-400hp flat 6. Sorry if I expect a few features from this?
I'm not saying they're comparable or that they're the same thing in terms of prowess, quality, reputation, appearance, etc. And I'm also not a BMW fan boy by any means. But you can get an M4 comp for $80k, loaded for $90-95k with extra 100hp and same amount of cylinders. And for Porsche to ask for extra payment for better headlights after a $115k starting price tag is still ridiculous.
That's what I don't get.
Lastly - why bring up Aston Martin? Nobody was talking about that and yea, if Aston had same pricing I'd be complaining just the same. Once you crest a 6-digit price tag, nickeling and diming for features is just sad.
Beautiful, love the green, but... $128K 😲
There seems to be nothing basic about the 4-way seats. They look spectacular.
They're great...I only miss having a memory button
FYI: 18-way seats add 35 pounds, so if low weight is the goal... pass.
Why do you insist on butchering the clutch in the car to “verify” the 0-60 claims when it appears you barely know how to operate a manual box?
You should have done a 0-60 run without Rob and all the gear
Great review like always and PORSCHE is the way!
Porsche looks good any color 😍
Also, "T" is a designation for the homogenized race version for "Touring Car" racing, not in reference to street touring (i.e. plush driving) you mention. The first T was created to qualify for racing and therefore had lighter weight and smaller displacement.
Beautiful color and the current 911 is a nice design but wow those prices. I'll stick with a liter bike and out run them for less than 1/5th the cost.
3:54 did Porsche finally come to their senses and put proper amber rear indicator lights on their Noth American 911s or is this a European-spec car?
Euro spec car

Please tell your camera guy to stop zoom in and out so much. It's very distracting and unprofessional. Thank you.
Wow. If only I had the money 🤑🤑🤑
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I AGREE WITH YOU 100%. I LOVE EVERYTHING!!! GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING.
At a starting price of $115k it should have a better 0-60 time, or more standard options. A sports car over 100k definitely needs to be in the 3s
This is a manual. The PDK version is hitting 60 in 3.6 seconds.
Taking delivery of my Agate Grey C2 next week.
I had a 3 year wait for this base ( 385 hp ) car…..which gave me plenty of…..to much….time to option it.
While I would lose the door decal…..and that Green…..really ?
Not sure I see a “need” for a T model.
Except for the transmission, you can easily option the C2 and I really think end up with a bit more comfortable car.
Not trying to be a wise guy……just not sure I like ….or see a need…for the T.
$120,000 actually a pretty good deal he says! Lol
Why “lol”?
@@TheHoosiers2008 he goes on many Porsche videos to say the same thing over and over again. It's probably his third account at this point
He always compare Porsche to other super cars, obviously, it’s cheaper than other super cars.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 A 911t IS NOT A SUPER CAR a GT3RDs or a 911 Turbo maybe.
@@andresmattos7541 well, it’s still expensive for just a sports car.
Will this model hold its value or appreciate over time? I'm thinking of buying one. What's everyone think?
There is no substitute.
Sofyan, why don't you review Bugatti? It's time to do that
I would gladly pay $3200 for them to not offer this color.
Imagine getting a car you can’t even work on yourself 😂😂😂
Damn Almost as fast as a Model 3..🤣😜…seriously a nice car if overpriced.
@Paul Bugoni damn almost as fast as my civic..🤣😜...seriously a nice car if overpriced
The 911 is the poor man's 928. Just calling balls and strikes.
I'd rather go for an LC 500. Acceleration is about the same and way better interior for almost 30k less. Yeah, I get that it's not manual and doesn't have the cachet of "Porsche", but I also didn't expect the 911 Carrera T to be that slow 0-60 for the price.
You cannot characterize the LC 500 as a sports car.
4 dot headlights are the worst. The most hideous.
If you scrapped the front end you don’t know how to drive.
Nissan Z is quicker rhan than this on straights
is this car really 100k+? and only 4.3 seconds? get yourself an audi s5 , only .4 seconds slower and a fraction of the price, literally just paying for some extra suspension and the porsche tag
Every Porsche is expensive, you buy it for the badge.
You’ve completely missed the point of what the T is in the 911 lineup. This is a driver focused sports car that actually corners without exhibiting the Audisteer/Understeering mess that is an Audi when pushed to its limits. For morons who care only about 0-60 times, they can go buy a Tesla (that, like the Audi, also handles like 💩 ). Personally, couldn’t care less about 0-60 times but since it’s the top priority for you, did you not hear him say that 4.3 was the estimate for the manual and 3.8 was the estimate for PDK?
Perfectly overpriced
Bro if ur broke just say it
@@Tjz30 Bro you know my bank account?
Worst driver ever. Give it some revs when trying 0-60 instead of almost killing it and come on, there is seven gears, this is 5 more than you used…
Anything more than third will get you busted if you're pushing it.
If there is one presenter that shouldn't be operating a manual transmission .....It's this guy. He needs an automatic.
$128k for base 911, you get 4.5 0-60. M4 all day and save $45k you could buy another toy car like mx-5 or daily driver CUV if you need cargo room
Yea, but what if you already owned the m3/m4 and want to try something different? You're also more likely to get a "better" model the next time around. There's levels to this car ish, like it or not unfortunately.
@@fadablayne yes base 911 is not $135k special. With $130k-$140k in used car sports market you could find super low milage mint condition McLaren 570s, R8, Acura NSX, BENZ AMG GTR, McLaren 12c, 991 Turbo there are others im forgetting.
Maybe if base 911 with all the options was around $100k then it was justifiable.. then again it's people with money who doesn't want flashy sports car buy these.
