People on here saying that Tyson in his prime would have won. What does it matter. You can only beat the man put in front of you, and Lewis beat everyone he ever faced. He is s true champ. In my opinion he beat Hollyfield twice, as the first result was a blatant fix. But back to Tyson, different boxers peak at different times. Tyson peaked early, Lewis peaked later. I'm a big fan of both, and loved the old Tyson. However, I think people look back with rose tinted glasses. As strong as Tyson was as a boxer, I never see him beat any real, true greats of the sport. Yes, he smashed a lot of nobodies, but never really beat a real all time great. Does that taint his legacy? No. As I said with Lewis, you can only beat the people put in front of you, and both boxers did this in their prime. With the state of the heavyweight division in recent years, we are lucky to have had Lewis when we did. He was the last truly great heavyweight.

Lennox was too big and strong - Think back to prime Mike Tyson against Tony Tucker - Tyson won but not only did he not knock Tucker down, it didn’t even look like he would knock him down. Tyson was the MOST EXCITING fighter of the modern era- In fact, Tyson was arguably the most exciting ever but Lennox was a better Boxer and a bad match up for Tyson. What you don’t see behind the scenes is that these guys, Tyson and Lennox, Tyson and Holyfield had all in fact sparred in their younger days and both Holyfield and Lennox handled Tyson okay. It is a wonder why they did not get their shot at Tyson earlier.

King admittedly kept Tyson away from him in the 90s (though Tyson was already an unmotivated paycheck fighter at that point), Bowe gave up his title rather than fight him and really, Lewis was pretty easy to duck. He wasn't box office and he got knocked out by McCall. Nobody was screaming out to watch a Lewis fight. Took him years to get back allowed back into the top tier - couldn't get a fight with Holyfied until 1999. But then charisma matters and he can't blame anyone else that he didn't have it.
