Walking in COLOGNE / Germany - Tour Around the City Centre - 4K 60fps (UHD)

- Cologne (German: Köln) at the river Rhine is the 4th largest city in Germany (after Berlin, Hamburg and Munich). With The Cologne Cathedral (German: Kölner Dom) it is also a popular city with tourists.
We start our tour at the cathedral and have a peek inside. It's a public holiday (Christi Himmelfahrt in May 2019). The central station is nearby so we check out the area around before we head to the shopping area.
From the pedestrian shopping street "Hohe Straße" we walk South to the old market square (Alter Markt) and East towards the River Rhine bank. People enjoy their day off there with some beer or wine.
We head further South to Gürzenichstraße and then West toward the Beglican Quarter and the Hahnen Gate (Hahnentor). With quieter streets as shops are closed the pubs and restaurants fill up even more for the final hours of the holiday.
Finally we head back to the Cologne Cathedral again, where we end this walk.

Thank you, Henry! This was actually the first recording from my two Cologne walks - pretty exactly one year ago - end of May 2019. It's a nice area close to the Netherlands that I hopefully can revisit sometime during winter

what an incredible Gothic and imposing cathedral don't know why but i find it menacing. Then you see how small the people are standing in front of it, giving you the scale of how gargantuan the thing is. Heck it makes the 6 story building sat next to it look just tiny. I wonder if the person who layed its first brick had a picture of what it would look like finished...

Cameras which processes the LED lights to not flicker in the final shot actually exist. Otherwise I would be very confused as to whats going on with particular movie scenes shot around Times Square. (this here is shot in Köln)

Almost every European I've met here in the U.S. gags when the subject of American fast food comes up, so who's frequenting the American fast food shops in Europe?
There is a difference in quality between the US and European fast food it seems. US travelers to Europe/Japan are often surprised how comparably clean and nice Mc Donald's is there. Especially the interiors with Mc Café in Europe / Asia looks cleaner compared to the US franchises I visited. Teenagers in Europe frequent fast food shops mostly like everywhere. The average adult however consumes fast food less often. Due to the excellent locations in city centers, McDonald's is popular for their bathrooms, so tourists are also a major part of customers to get that key-code. The cheapest fast food probably is the kebab / asian noodle shops (and Subway) which often have run down chairs/tables and a less desirable atmosphere. For home delivery it's pizza etc.. So, yes American fast food outside the US is pretty OK - inside the USA it's a different atmosphere that tourists try to avoid...especially those who spend money for their vacation in the US of A
