- We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Cologne (Köln), Germany on August 2022.
Straddling the river Rhine, Cologne (Köln) is the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth largest city in Germany with more than 1.000.000 inhabitants. In medieval times it was the largest city of the Holy Roman Empire. Nowadays, Cologne is one of the nation's media, tourism and business hotspots and is known as one of the most liberal cities in Germany.
Cologne was one of the most heavily bombed cities in Germany during World War II. The bombing reduced the population by 95%, mainly due to evacuation, and destroyed almost the entire city centre. With the intention of restoring as many historic landmarks as possible, the postwar rebuilding has resulted in a very mixed and unique cityscape.
Our guided walking tour is about 3.42 miles (5.5 km) long, starts at Haymarket Square (Heumarkt) and covers most attractions and historic sites of Cologne (Köln).

Germany and France which is a better place to live in terms of jobs opportunities friendly environment, cost food, bureaucracy and easy integration due to strong conservation of language.

Should i visit Cologne or Hamburge which is better for a holiday?
It depends on what you like an what you expect. I know both citys and personaly would'nt spend my holidays there. One or two day visiting might be o.k..

There are many beautiful german cities... Cologne is not one of them. I always find it a bit sad that one of the most gorgeous cathedrals in all the world is wasted on a city such as Cologne.

@@davidai9024 Yes, Hamburg is a much nicer city. They did a much better job rebuilding the city center after WW2 and they have beautiful cutting edge modern achitecture too, like in the Hafencity.
@@wangflop Other nicer big cities: most of all Munich, but also Hamburg, Dresden, Leipzig... Smaller cities that are absolutely beautiful: Heidelberg, Bamberg, Rothenburg, Regensburg, Trier, Görlitz, Potsdam, Lübeck, Schwerin...

Not a great city to visit, small old town, ugly center and the cathedral is so so. Better options close by.
