"Oh, boy, just spawned in, better mine some woo- oh this is protected. Well that's fine I'll just travel 1000 blocks this way and oh- this is claimed. Ok well I'll go way far out so there's nobody else." And after traveling half a million blocks out you're still seeing claims. This is why I only play minigame multiplayer. Normal gameplay is impossible on such a big scale without stepping on people's toes.

Yeah, I remember asking some Builders to make a Wizard Tower for me, they said it's free so I'm happy, I indicate them the position and they send a dude with so much Shulker boxes that start building the layout. I leave to collect minerals and upgrade my tools, get bored after a while, I quit, I comeback after 1 day and when I tp to my bed I see Isengard Tower in the distance. 10/10 would come back.
As someone who's friend group is comprised of master builders and hasn't played Minecraft religiously enough to compete, this is what joining the server feels like even if I'd gotten a week long headstart.
My experience was the opposite. I joined my friend's realm a couple months late, and was basically told: "Alright, here's the main base, we all have a Critical iron shortage, have fun." I've spent 6 months doing fxxxking everything myself. Mined enough iron to set up a max Beacon and then some. Spent 3 hours rolling a librarian to finally get mending. Spent days down looking for diamonds. Stripped 2 entire Ancient Cities of Sculk for levels. Set up like 9 automated farms. Built 98% of my entire base from scratch (I would steal a couple blocks that would take more than 10 minutes to get by looking for it myself, always leaving something as payment when doing so), found a Fortress, found the Stronghold, set up a Nether tunnel to reach it faster, got enough Ancient Debris that I could literally afford to give it away, and farmed enough wither skulls to spawn 4 of the bastards. The only things I got my pals on to help me for was the Dragon and 2 of the 4 Withers, and I spent 1 of those Wither fights having to keep their stuff from getting blown up after they died. Hell, every single Elytra in use on the server, I got myself, and then sold to my pals for diamonds. Can't say I didn't have fun though. I'm one of those weird people that are absolutely fine playing solo for days on end, even on a server with like a dozen people.
Half of this one server's playerbase had full netherite before I even had full diamond. Now some of those players have the armor maxed out and I'm just now getting around to making my own netherite armor. Oh, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
On lifeboat, I am aware of this, and so have a challenge. I build a base and try to defend it until the server resets. I have won and lost MANY wars on lifeboat. Some of the best involve genuinely reforming hackers, making one of the griefers cover my base in a certain political symbol before giving up, and a tower in a lava lake in the nether that nobody even REACHED.
The animation quality is really nice, tho I wish more of their abilities were fleshed out, Erad using more of his minigun, rockets and his stealth and short stun As well as fallen kings lightning bolts and maybe even Fallen Gaurds. Despite that, it was a pretty good animation and I think this is a good gauge of how strong awaken fallen king is since we never got to see him in game. An upgraded version of a hard mode boss can kill an upgraded version of an intermediate boss Good work! And maybe Apex can put some damage into AFK
The worst thing is that when u join a survival server too late finding a place to live is hard asf since there are random blocks, bridges, towers, destroyed areas etc. Everywhere
First time on a Minecraft server, I made a wood house with a pool and a glass ceiling, it started burning down. My mind couldn't comprehend griefing at that time.
