    Hestra is gold. I usually use the Skullman 5 Finger for work in the Woods. Someday I will give the Fält a chance. Thanks for the shot!❤

    I've got the Fält guide gloves, on your recomendation, and they really are great. Never once had cold hands in them.
    Also, living in rainy Holland, they can take a surprisingly big amount of water before the wool lining starts to get damp (espescialy when you make sure the leather stays healthy).

    I use Johan Skullman leather gloves most of the year in the woods, ideal with touch liners or thicker liners in winter. . Army leather short in winter. In rain always sleeves over glove cuffs. Seal skinz sun gloves are awesome for summer trekking

      @@TedWeirum If it wasn't clear, I was talking about those Faalt Guides. Man, they are really impressive! I've had them for a year now and they look brand new. Now, I am in the market for some of those touch point liners, probably the standard wool grey ones. Question: Did you size down for them, or get the same size that your Faalt Guide Gloves are in? (2 "a" in Faalt because I am an ignorant American). ;)

    Great video and reviews. I have the active grip and I love them. I have, and tried a lot of gloves/mittens. I get really cold hands in the winter and have yet to really find a pair of gloves that will keep my hands warm. I may try the guide gloves and see how they perform for me. Love that waterproof shell. Peace

    Hello
    I just purchased the ergo grip active gloves.
    They fit so well !
    I have put some Hestra balm on them and they have remained tacky for quite a few days after the treatment.
    Does this go away ?

      not sure about the wind resistance there when biking, maybe a shell glove layer could be a better solution there, at least have something above if its really cold!

  • @danceswithbadgers

    Hi Ted, how do Hestra gloves seem for fit? I can't work out which size I'd need as their size chart suggests 8 for hand circumference and 10 for hand length. Slim long hands so it's a common trade-off for me that end up with gloves which are a sloppy fit round my hands just to get the fingers long enough.

    • @TedWeirum
      @TedWeirum  Před rokem

      hmm.. that's a tough one! I would size up, but if you could try them out that would be best of course, since some of them are leather they will adapt a bit with age. Any resellers nearby?

    • @danceswithbadgers
      @danceswithbadgers Před rokem +1

      @@TedWeirum No, I'm afraid not, so it's an online order with it's attendant potential returns issue. Hence my uncertainty about ordering a pair.

    • @TedWeirum
      @TedWeirum  Před rokem

      I understand. If you’re going for winter gloves or thicker ones I’d size up and then add a liner if it’s too wide

    • @danceswithbadgers
      @danceswithbadgers Před rokem +1

      @@TedWeirum That's a possibility, but I'm trying to simplify my glove system as I've learnt over the years that smooth liners, in any material, don't work, nor does combining more than a couple of layers, as any finger movement tends to pump what blood is in my hands out. I'm back into my regular winter cycle of :- painfully cold hands, which can happen even if they've warmed up whilst walking, and an endless re-jigging of my existing glove selection in different combinations , desperately trying to find something that works. I'm being circumspect about new purchases too, having been wiped out financially by the Covid lockdowns and in the position of trying to sell stuff on eBay to pay for new items.
