@@KatyaKnightwolf you're all right! It's probably the most characteristic sound of the rainforest. I've watched one documentary when they showed this bird. It was a documentary about the singing birds and the loudest birds of the world.
schreaming piha's sound is soothing enough that I can sleep with it. White bellbird on the other hand... It's still cool sound though, just not for sleeping. For alarm maybe?

Nice, what country did you travel to? I live in Brazil, Amazon region, there's a lot of these birds around here. It's a must to hear them when one go into a forest. Love their whistle, so beautiful.
In the amazon jungle of Surinam they call this bird "Busi Skowto", which means "Bush Police" because of it's siren type call. It's a sound you can hear whenever you go into the jungle interior. It's a magical and majestic bird call.

There is another bird I am searching for. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before be I’ve heard it many times randomly in movies where the setting is a jungle. It’s a bird that calls in a similar pitch to the piha but it’s starts slow and increases in speed. Think of it like this: Doo do do do-do-do-do-d-d-d-d Like I said it’s kinda slow at first then goes fast and sounds like a high pitch whistle
