Hey, I'm planning on travelling to Holland for the first time this November for two weeks. I'm going mainly to train and to take in some of the culture of course. I'd like to train for at least a week and a half at a descent Kickboxing gym. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks. @ KombatJunky
Kombatjunky I'm going to be honest almost every kickboxing gym is good... I don't know where u are going but if ur visiting Amsterdam u could go to Mejiro Gym, Mike's Gym or Vos Gym, but there are so many more... u can't really make a mistake. Have fun my friend ;)

Erik B good trainers and good organisations and good finance and LOVE for sport. maybe other Eurocountries are just NOT into martial arts. loving beer or wine too much like germany or france...
Not hating on the dutch muay thai/kickboxing. But striking isnt the same as be it all/end all under the term martial art. The russians is very big on wresling and other martial arts like Sambo and is slowly catching up on MMA, germans isnt that bad in grappling, they are also probably the epicenter of european boxing. Not saying they got the fame of the dutch striking jet, just saying that kickboxing or even striking isnt= covers all martial arts:p Guess the dutch got the advantage of being a small country with short distances to good gyms, having a very good enviroment with good trainers ect like you mentioned. To be honest, while Im not german, I got this feeling the german society as a whole is probably more conservative and less open minded to "new" things, atleast compared to the Dutch which probably is on the totaly opposite side. Thus they are probably slower to catch up to "new" things.
Erik B yes, in holland we got legal soft drugs or gay marriage or whatever u name it. very free liberal people: no limits, thats confusing for immigrants from third world countries like turkey or morocco or south americas islands. also for eastern europeans like poland or romania, it can be confusing. dutch have no 'macho culture' like southern europe, everything is allowed. with the good and bad effects of it.... where u from ?
Erik B haha, the best Kickboxers are not even dutch: Ernesto Hoost and Remy Bonjasky - suriname (ex colony) and Morocco- Badr hari and some more names.
