- My friend Stefanos invited me to play at this magnificent site and have a musical meeting of these two ancient instruments.
This bass aulos is a lower version of the ancient Louvre Aulos.
Double pipes were played for several thousand years in various forms.
The city of Aigai, the ancient first capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia, was discovered in the 19th century near Vergina, in northern Greece. The most important remains are the monumental palace, lavishly decorated with mosaics and painted stuccoes, and the burial ground with more than 300 tumuli, some of which date from the 11th century B.C. One of the royal tombs in the Great Tumulus is identified as that of Philip II, who conquered all the Greek cities, paving the way for his son Alexander and the expansion of the Hellenistic world.
The video and photos are taken in the Museum of Aigai.
Many thanks to the authorities of the museum for the permission to play in this excellent place and enjoy the acoustics.
The exposition is very well presented and we recommend very much to visit.

Magic
Hauntingly beautiful. The sounds of 2,400 years ago!
Alexander walks through the doors of the palace after returning from his tutelage at Mieza, he strolls the mosaic strewn halls of his father, peering around a column, following the sounds of the flutist down an ivory corridor, he arrives before the court of Phillip II eager to inform his father on the lessons of Aristotle

Πολύ αισθαντική μουσική , που παρόλη ίσως την απλότητά της, έχει μια δύναμη και μας συνδέει με αρχέγονα κομμάτια μας.
Σας ευχαριστούμε!!!
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this excellent initiative and excellent presentation!!!
Very emotional music that, despite perhaps it's simplicity, has a power and connects us with our primal parts.
Thank you!!!

Just the best. I love the kithara too, like the electric guitar of its time with all the ways you can bend and shape the notes.
