Agree with sethoselken on $ and term . Myers really has gone from chaos to positionaly sound this year

No apology it’s a contract year that’s why it’s happening
It's happening because the Canucks have brought in more capable D men, pushing him down in the roster, so he can play in a spot more suited to him, the 3rd or 4th pairing D spot. He isn't playing against the top 2 lines on the other team, so he is less exposed.

Nothing more for a year or two, giving the bag again would be ridiculous, not happening with a 3rd pairing D, especially of a 6x6 and only 1 good year?
I just find it funny players have all those bad seasons until there contract year sometimes then
their agents are probably like look at what they did this year it's like what did you do the previous years before your contract was expiring?
I bet Myers will probably be asking for 3 or 3.5m after this year. I'm only guessing.
Canucks have so many good players to re sign that myers needs to take a team friendly contract of league min or 1.5mil

We don't want to apologize. He took 6 million a year for 5 years and played like ass. Now he's playing like a 4 million defensemen and we are happy and grateful.
But he could never play in a way to make up for his play over the last 5 years even if he was on a better contract. The number on his deal is not his fault it's JB's. but playing badly for 5 years is on him. He's good now and we will be happy to run out his final year with this team. But contentment doesn't equate to owing an apology. He will leave after this season and we should never offer him another penny. We have D now and more coming. Zadorov should get a contract and either McWard comes up, we trade for someone else, Juulsen gets a cheap extension or we keep Cole. Any 2 of those should suffice.
He's not playing like a $4 million D man. He's more like a $1.5 - $2 million D man. 3rd pairing at best. Anything higher than that and he is playing over his head, and will get taken advantage of by the better players he would be playing against. Other than that, hell yeah there are no apologies owed to him. F that!

Myers still plays bad. He doesn't hit, lift sticks or block shots and he is still frequently out of position. Let him walk
he didn't "take" it was the contract he was given before he came to Vancouver. Sorry Id be very happy to see him back he does more right than you seem to know. Guys in the NHL, are you? I'm not a part of the apologizing group ... and for those that are can't read hockey very well. Yes Myers has made fewer mistakes, and Yes he's a little more positionally sound, but he still is the most overpaid Dman in the entire NHL.
Perfect example ( and I can pick out at least 1 or 2 terrible plays every game ... playoffs this will KILL us) is during the Islanders game. I believe it was the 2nd period (can't remember specifically) and we were dominating the Islanders for a good 10 min straight.

Myers unnecessarily attempts a high risk blue line pass in the Ozone, which gets picked off cuz he telegraphs everything...now it's a 2 on 1 (and with Myers it's more like 2 on .5) , and if it wasn't for DeSmith Islanders would have scored and the energy would have totally shifted.
I know all Dmen make mistakes,,,but it's the frequency and timing of Myers mistakes that make him way more of a liability than an asset.
Canuck fans are the WORST...cuz they see chaos giraffe Myers score a goal and now all is forgiven. Mark my words on what a catastrophe he will be in the playoffs.

Not an f'ing chance. No way. That is at least $1 million per season more than he's worth, maybe $1.5 million more than he's worth.
Who the hell came up with Zegras crap? Was it only you guys? Seriously, you all that desperate for something to talk about? No, Zegras ain't going to be playing for the Canucks, what a stupid suggestion. As for Myers, I sure as hell will never apologize for talking shit about him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a couple years. He has been so mediocre for that time, but I never piled on. Then I went to the New Jersey game this year, and damn, I saw just how out of his element he is. He was bad. If he was making 1.5 - 2 million on the 3rd pairing, that;s fine, but he isn't a top 4 D man. He is making $6 million a year, but not playing like a $6 million D man. He deserves criticism, not apologies. Lately he has been decent. That's great, don't be a detriment to the team, that's all we ask. Make it through the last year of that contract, don't hurt the team, and we'll be fine. But I sure a/f ain't apologizing.
