2023 New Braunfels HS Band - Nightshade

The 2023 New Braunfels High School Unicorn Marching Band. The show was titled "Nightshade", which featured the following musical selections:
“Celestial Night” by Richard Danielpour
“Flower Duet” from “Lakme” by Leo Delibes
“Air Waltz” by Oliver Reynolds Davis
“Everything In It’s Right Place” by Radiohead
The band was under the direction of David C. Eckert, Kyle Day, Felicia Garza, Analisa Gonzalez, and Kate Williams.
This performance was at the Bands of America Waco Regional contest held at Midway HS Panther Stadium in Waco, TX. The band placed 11th place in preliminaries with a score of 73.2, and was recognized as a BOA Regional Finalist - there were no finals due to inclement weather the day of the event.
The band started its competition season at the Seguin Marching Festival in Seguin, TX, earning an Outstanding Percussion caption in both prelims and finals. They also earned 1st place in Class 6A prelims, 1st place in finals, and Grand Champion of the festival.
The band also made 6th place in the Vista Ridge Marching Contest Finals in Cedar Park, TX.
The band also received a unanimous Division 1 rating at the Class 6A Region 12 Marching Contest. This allowed the band to advance to the UIL Class 6A Area D Marching Band Contest in Kelly Reeves Stadium in Austin, TX. The band made 16th place out of 25 bands in preliminary competition.
