So in my theory. There will be removed or unused mobs like the red dragon will be added to the game. Including ender version of the mods from the overworld
we need a proper overworld boss. even though the wither is mostly fought in the over world, it’s basically a nether boss by origin and creation. we need something that spawns or can be created purely in the overworld

Correction: The Netherite Block isnt made of just 9 scraps, its 9 BARS. That means 36 Scraps and 36 Gold Bars.

I'm starting to see some lore threads. Ancient debris is scattered throughout the Nether. Smelting the debris produces netherite scrap, implying that the debris is made of netherite or that the scrap it the only salvage-able part. To restore netherite to it's (presumed) former glory you have to combine it with gold. Zombie Pigmen drop golden nuggets.
My theory is that the ancient debris is the last remnants of an ancient pigman civilization, one which ruled over the entire nether. At some point, a cataclysmic event occurred, wiping out almost all traces of the pigman civilization (save for the few pieces of debris found underground) and leaving any survivors as zombified husks. The reason the pigmen still have the gold nuggets is that they are unconsciously clinging to the shattered remains of what once made them great.
Or it has something to do with matpat's insane theories, maybe they found something. Something that lead to their downfall.

Mario Delgado No that would make no sense, if they did it’d have to be something weaker in some aspects, better in some. Makes sense that in the other dimensions there is some end game armor, not so much in the over world. There is simply no need for new armor, if they do There wouldn’t have it be like armor of the turtle (slow but strong) armor of the wolf (weaker but faster) or just some of balancing

I think you aren’t meant to live there. Something about having to go through the portal each time gives the nether it’s atmosphere, and likewise coming back through the portal into your peaceful base (which you likely have much greater control over than the chaotic nether) is a very nostalgic feeling in the game imo and worth keeping

It doesn’t take that long as of right now. Fully upgraded my tools and armor within an hour in my survival world. It should be more difficult

Khang Nguyen it’s really common, just dig down a bit and bed mine with blast protection and fire resistance. Got a couple stacks of the stuff in about 3 hours
MasterFrags yeah, average about 45-70 ores an hour. It’s hella common as of right now. Which is why I’m saying it should be way more expensive than just gold and this stuff to upgrade diamond gear with one Ingot. Maybe 8 ingots around the diamond item, or have the ingots take a diamond or nether star to craft. Wayyyy too cheap right now but it’s only the first snap shot so I won’t be too critical

I can understand if it was in creative cause u can instantly make a portal and have infinite beds, but in survival that sounds like total bs

So... I’m just going to do some speculation here.
“Ancient debris” sounds more like ruins from some old civilization than natural ore. It’s also specifically called “netherite.” So... was this at one point crafted by some ancient Nether civilization? Considering also that Piglins are a new intelligent race of beings in the Nether... I’d say the Nether is getting expanded on in more than just gameplay features.

I agree with Jordan, the only change to the nether update i'd want is for the netherite armor to have a more expensive recipe. I think it be cool if the recipe to make the armor was just the regular recipe for that piece of armor, but you still had to put the diamond version of the same item into any of the empty slots left in the recipe (That way all the pieces of armor would require different amounts of netherite, and so a pair of boots wouldn't be just as expensive as a full chest plate).

i quite like the current system of getting netherite stuff. you basically use netherite and galvanise diamond tools and stuff with it. it would also be cool if there was just a hardcore version where if you didnt have the diamond piece you could just straight up craft the netherite anyway but it works well as it is honestly

The nether update looks great and is a step in the right direction, but I think Minecraft is still going to be missing that element of "needing more things to actively do" after this update is released. We have new biomes and new blocks, but once the update comes out, people will explore them and then be wanting more within the same week. And the thing with netherite is that, while it's cool, you can already kill the Wither and the Ender Dragon with relative ease using diamond. Going for netherite seems like a lengthy extra step just to make said fights even more trivial. Why do it other than having something else to do once you've already beaten the bosses? And once you've gotten your new S-tier armor, what then?

It's a snapshot. Things are bound to change.
Ancient debris can spawn at any y range but it won’t spawn touching air, it can spawn in veins of 1 to 3(maybe 4) it is more common lower down and it is recommended to mine at y=15

ARandomPerson yea caves need an update but I also think that landscape generation could be improved. Imagine a plains biome without ugly water pools everywhere, actual rivers and waterfalls, overall better looking hills and mountains, etc

I just realized that since Netherite provides full(?) knockback resistance, players can now melee the Ender Dragon without having to worry about getting knocked 25 kilometers up in the air
They should make a new armour set that comes with buffs for example when you wear the helmet u get fire resistance speed for boots resistance for chestplate jump boost for legs and like strength while holding the sword
I think it would be great to make some netherite golem, or some new netherite boss like wither boss

The items don’t burn from being in lava and or fire but they *can melt from the fire made by coal in a furnace*
The Netherite is an alloy that you create by uniting gold and ancient scraps, you don't melt it in a furnace
@@francescopezzoni3180 yeah, but you do need to put the ancient debris in a furnace to get the scraps, and the debris is fireproof too. their point is still valid. how do you melt down the debris in a furnace if it's too heat resistant to be destroyed in lava? lol

Ngl it should take upwards of a minute to smelt in a furnace, and 10 seconds if you use a lava bucket and a blast furnace
Now that I think about it, upgrading netherite would be the perfect use for a smithing table :O
It actually would be a great avenue to take if they just added armor _upgrades_ to the smithing table.
Imagine it, you could upgrade diamond to netherite, gold to emerald or something, chain to basalt lol.

Already got everything in Netherite in my survival world and it took 65k Netherrack to farm all ingots, which sound a lot but it's not for such an powerful armor.
BEST WAY TO FARM NETHERITE.
Farm between y=12 to y=14 with an diamond pick with atleast efficiency 2 for instant mining Netherrack. Just hold your mining key and walk und don't forget to look up und down so you basically digging a 4x4 tunnel. Also try to change directions every idk 20-40 blocks.
If you found a source then dig at least 15 blocks from it away, because int that radius around the source there is only a low chance that there is more.

They should make a “lava resistance” enchantment where the enchanted item doesnt burn in lava, it simply floats just like the ancient debris

I haven't tested it myself but apparently netherite tools and armor dont burn and float in lava
