- In today’s Spoiler Free video we give you a peek inside the Carnevale of Horrors scenario. We also discuss the problems inherent in Print On Demand products and tell you what to look out for.
We don’t spoil the game or story. It’s not that kind of video.
Also meet our newest team member “miss Cut.” :) - Hry
I love your videos! They are very informative. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Very nice! Love you channel and sense of humor :) Eagerly awaiting my carnevale to arrive from USA...come on you mailman you...!!!
Awwww, thank you!
I like how you reply to comments in second person, like Gollum! Also, quality content! Thank you for your work
Well it’s either the royal we or there is more than one of us. Let’s go for the former. :)
Cheers! I think you can get from your lgs. Not now like IN store but preorder here in Australia.
We have seen quite a few places across the globe taking money from people as pre-orders. Plus there are always copies on eBay.
Arkham Chronicle loving the videos, please keep up the pythonese ladies! It cracks me up.
Love your reviews thanks
Aww, thank you! We hope they are helpful :)
I am having problems organizing all my cards... What storage do you advise? I was looking into some deck boxes but they completely ruin the feel of the game with their plastic and vibrant colours... I would love some wooden card holder so I could print something on it thematic and maybe burn the edges a bit. Any suggestions?
We will do our best to find you some thematic storage and make a video about it.
Which stand alone do you like best? Curse or Carnevale? Is there a campaign where you recommend curse or carnevale be played in taking into effect the theme?
At the Arkham Chronicle we try not to give recommendations. We just give you the information to make your own mind up. We enjoyed both of these as stand alone scenarios. If you play them that way first you get a good idea of how they can work for you. When you go to Paris in Path to Carcosa that is thematically the best time for a side quest to Venice.
Wow that got to you quickly! Only saw the post on bgg on Tuesday, had you already ordered?
We probably made the order and started the BGG thread at about the same time. We have to pay absurd shipping costs to get it
ASAP so we can show it to you amazing people.
Awesome video. Do you recommend how we should store the games? Separate the POD in separate boxes? How do we deal with storage with monthly packs + deluxe boxes coming in the future?
Hey Robert. We are going to be having a look at storage options in the near future. If you don’t sleeve your cards *shudder* you can keep all the scenarios in their original packaging. If you do then finding a big box with dividers might be better or consider 9 pocket pages and binders. We will look into all the options in a video as soon as we can.
Robert Yee I got a ultimate guard xenoskin 200 deck box, built a divider for the token tray which fits 1 and a bit core box tokens. One side will hold all of the core set scenario cards and the other hold ( for solo ) my deck all upgrade cards in use and the chaos bag ( all my chaos tokens are in coin capsules ). Plan on getting a xenoskin arkchive with dividers for scenarios and a matching zipfolio for player cards....... they are all in green..... I like to call it old one green 😬
I went with the Hobby Lobby Artist's Sketch Case in brown/black and the Broken Token insert for the case. It's pretty sweet! A bits box is on the way for the tokens.
Whoa, those look way cool, I've never encountered those before, only the ultra pro boxes. Thanks for the tip! They would work on some other print and play games that I have!
Well if you recommend them we will try and get hold of some Ultimate Guard products and try them out.
If I were to buy a copy of the Carnevale of Horrors expansion directly from Final Flight Games nowadays, might I receive this poor POD quality? In other words are both of the currently available expansions POD or are those poor quality cuts "just review copies"?
Hand on heart we paid for every single item you see in each of our videos. We have never received anything for free. We pay full retail just like you. If that changes we will let you know.
You may receive a POD product that isn’t it its best and if that happens then contact Fantasy Flight and ask them to replace either certain cards or the whole product depending on what is wrong with it.
rickballance would you not buy a great story or game because of, quality of cards? I bought Carnevale, the quality is as explained in this great video. with that said, it will not stop me from playing, and if I knew about the quality before hand. I would have still bought it. It's a good game! this is not a trading card game, where cards have value. it's an LCG, where it tells a story.
I received my order today. The order said "Carnevale of Horrors." The printed invoice in the package says "Carnevale of Horrors." The product I received was a second copy of Curse of the Rougarou.... doh! Time to test out FFG/Asmodee customer service.
We certainly sympathise but aren’t sure what we can do to help :( let us know how you get on.
How did it turn out?
They sent a return e-mail telling him how to boil the cards briefly and then gently mold them into the correct expansion. :3
bwahahahahahaha good one :D :D :D
I'm very happy I could make you smile! Just a bit depressed that contemporary Customer Service probably won't. Thanks for supporting one of my favorite channels. I mean, talk about *humor.* These folks're like Not the Nine O' Clock News took over the Dice Tower! An' I *love* it! ...................... 'Kay Lita, you can let *go* now......pleasedon'thurtme.............:)
It's disappointing to see the issues on those cards.
That’s why we make videos to let people know all about this stuff.
I don't know if you're a LoTR player, but in case you're not just wanna say that I'm a collector of that game as well and have all the POD sets they've made for it. (think there's about 20 or 30 by now?)
Reason I'm posting is so that people don't think this is some issue with Carnevale, or a recent problem, or something. This is endemic to the POD system, and every product people buy will have these same issues. This is just a fact of the cheaper, low-volume, in-house nature of PoD, so you need to decide as a whole if you are OK with these issues or not. If you are, then you can buy anything FFG puts out this way, as the quality is pretty consistent (-ly low ;))
Good to know. Still, I'd expect they print quite a bit and should have found a solution to address this by now.
Yikes, man. Clip your nails.
