- As news of the #xbox360 store shutdown travels throughout the #internet many gamers are becoming concerned about their ability to play certain games in the future. The thought of losing an opportunity to play certain #xbox classic has created anxiety within the gaming community causing many to run out and purchase as many physical games they can. Mass #fomo has many making ill advised purchases which is why I though I’d share 3 common mistakes gamers make due to the fear of missing out. 100%. Be patient for prices drop. Or don’t buy if you disagree with the price or can’t afford. Don’t ever let FOMO run your finances.

Not to mention dont buy games that are going for top price, but look like they got pulled out of the trash and listed online.
The amount of crap that sellers are listing for top prices is stupid.
Battle Fantasia was literally 30 bucks brand new couple months back... MONTHS. Only after these viewer hungry morons that put that game on thumbnails saying "gEt iT n0w", was when the game had vanished online and now of course listed at a stupid price

Yes and no. There’s some games like marvel vs capcom 2 that are attached to the console. You can’t download it anymore even if it’s attached to your gamertag.
You can look at your previous purchases/downloads and it'll be there. You don't lose it if you bought it before

In my experience with these store closures the earlier you collect for the system, the better. And when prices do skyrocket on the closure, that is the time to take a pause because prices will come down, but not back to the lower levels from before the closure was announced.
.. I'm collecting games just now because I fear the last 2 months will be a "bloodbath" with overload servers, delisted games and so on..
I've had my Xbox 360 Slim since 2010 and it still works for me and I had a pretty good Xbox 360 collection for a couple of years and started up again in 2022, and it's growing bigger now 😀.
I've been buying certain Xbox 360 games, and the places I've been looking for are Gamestop, Mercari, Goodwill, Salvation Army, OfferUp, Ebay, and Facebook Marketplace.

Great video. Was collecting for the 360 for years. Had around 290 games but realistically I’m not going to play them. Got rid of half of them and have kept the games I will play. Love that you said focus on collecting what you’ll actually play.
I made this very error with original xbox: hundreds of "minor" games collecting dust ! but I'm doing the right thing with xbox360 :)
Solid advice, as someone who watched the prices of Gamecube games fluctuate from $60 - $3 in less than a year - stay patient. For the pricer games that are harder to track down I would absolutely recommend saving a few eBay searches because at the end of the day luck is your best friend, not everyone cares to get the most value out of these games so if you look hard you can definitely find what you’re looking for within your price range. Another thing that helped was emulation, I am an avid collector who always prefers physical copies and a few months ago I decided rather than spending $50+ on a copy of The Simpsons Hit Run I would emulate it for free to decide if I really wanted the game or if I was being blinded by nostalgia. 9 times out of 10 I get bored rather quickly and realize that buying a physical copy would’ve been a waste. Ask yourself, will I sincerely get more enjoyment from PLAYING this game or OWNING this game? This has also helped me widdle down my collection significantly:)
yes you re right but surfing the 360 marketplace now (only the console based one works properly in EU) I'm finding out tons of games ,mainly horizontal shooters, that are good

Anything that isn’t backwards compatible on Xbox series X is likely to go up in price.

I have over 1200 XBOX 360 games, and it's one of my favorite consoles! So many different category of games, especially college sports games! I bought many of them brand new for under $15 on clearance, from places like Walmart, FYE, and Target. The best time to build a collection at a lower expense is during the last 2 or 3 years of a consoles life cycle! Luckily I found 2 brand new copies of NCAA Football 2014 at Walmart for $29.99 each during that timeframe! Great video!! #TeamPhysical
I remember Walmart having about 15 sealed copies of NCAA 14 knocked down to $5 each. I already had one so I didn't pick any up. Doh.

Don't be scared just because someone tells you to buy something. If you never cared before. Then you probably won't care in the future. If you haven't stumbled upon the game in almost 20 years then it was never ment to be.
I gave all of my old xbox 360 games away and i don't regret it. I had them for a long time and I would rarely go back to them.

The panic in some people is normal but if you look carefully you could buy the best arcade ones and stop (for example I wont buy any "on-demand" digital game because the most still will be found phisical I hope)

I feel people are still going to buy at a premium for 360 games when those games are getting delisted (even though they might be available on other consoles) just to say they have it on a console that you can’t get any more.
I passed on $20 games that now go for for $300-$900 so it's hard to pass on games that I don't want like panzer Dragoon saga, saturn bomberman and blockbusters clayfighter that was available for months
Luckily I've been restocking my collection over the last ten years in case of this. Learned my lesson after trading in many expensive or hard to find games years ago

Need for speed most wanted sold 16 million copies yet is the same price of a new game, I legit remember this game being 20$ bucks not long ago and it’s sucks since I’ve been trying to buy og Xbox and 360 games before knowing the the shop was gonna get shut down
I just picked up a good condition CIB copy of Blue Dragon at GS today for 19.99. They had Wet as well but my rule for buying 360 games is that I must be able to play them on my Xbox One X or Series X as I don’t plan on buying a 360 anytime soon so I passed on it. They had it for 14.99 and I see it selling on eBay for 49.99 so I might check back next month and if still there I’ll buy to flip it if necessary
just get an RGH Xbox 360 you can play any games for free. Just don't connect it to Xbox live. And you can still get achievements offline, just keep your profile on a flash drive so you can upload your achievements to the live service on a retail unmodified console.
Surprisingly only genres of games I play and collect are usually the ones that are sought after on the 360 now. Especially if they are complete.

I have to be honest. FOMO is also the reason why I tried types of games I would have never bought.
The fomo its insane, a lot of people will lose quite a bit of money when everything is said and done.
The market for 360 collecting is still early, that prices are all over the place. The worst part is that quite a few games are in terrible shape and still going for insane prices.
Once the market settles down, a lot of people that bought games with water damage, crack cases, missing manuals, scratch up disc, will find out that people will not pay top dollar for a barely acceptable game.
I too have noticed xbox gamers are terrible with their games haha. Worst condition used games overall
@@fritzthecat8158 Thats not a very accurate statement. a lot of kids grew up with 360/ps3, and not many people take care of their things. So its hard to find older games with manuals and in good condition because kids never take care of their stuff. Its even worse because the quality of cases from the start of the 360 to 2012 is night and day. Its the same issue with N64, GBA etcc.., everyone threw the cardboard away and now its hard to find complete coping and what is complete is way too expensive.

Xbox 360 is my main system I collect for so im in a panic lol, my local stores are already locking up 360 games, luckily iv been getting them super cheap for the most part with exspensive games being only 20-30 rn.
Spiderman games are mad expensive i got all armoured core games and they are £60 atm used

Even when I started collecting PS2 games 10 years ago when rule of rose was around $100, I only got shit that I liked playing. Getting a whole set is like those people back in the day who would buy encyclopedias just to decorate their shelves... 😂
I always wanted Def Jam: FFNY, but no way in HELL am I paying close to $300 for it! That's why I emulate the unobtianium, or use a flashcart, ODE, or "backups" 😉 on a hard drive. Be sensible people.
Prices will only come down for games that went crazy, that were $15 before the announcement and are now $100+. I already see a bunch coming down from that price range. There's just not a lot of buyers of 360 games at those prices. Now games that are $40 to $60 and more on the rare side, I don't see them ever coming back down to the old prices.
They will definitely forever be bumped but people will start squirming and accepting $25-$40 offers on the $100+ ones now when people realize how stupid it was to buy a $5 used game for $160 lol

the fomo only hits me if the game is cheap af, i just bought dead island and riptide for 74¢ each then dmc and dmc 4 for $2 each.
those were the only games i found that arent backwards compatible n cheap af on the 360 market place. the majority of the catalog is playable on series x n xbox one with some games being playable but NOT able for purchase on the new systems.
i did pick up a sealed copy of lollipop chainsaw from amazon for about $60 (i never got the item n got my money back😉) wwe all stars for $24 (the game was always around $30) n i bought the disk only of bullet witch cause i accidentally sent a offer on ebay like an idiot lol.
I have so many Xbox 360 games including sneak king and ultimate alliance 1 and 2. I’m not selling shit. This is my child hood. Just going to sit back and watch and laugh at everybody 😂

the best would be mix digitals and phisics in your games library ! i got tons of digital and from now on I'll get only phisical because you never know for the most popular games (fallout3, gears, dishonored, bioshock, masseffect..)

Not true, PS2 that were expensive years ago are still expensive now. Same for Saturn and Dreamcast, The longer you wait the less available and more rarer some games will become.

They have licensing issues so most games will not be available. also it actually emulates games and doesn't play off the game disc. That means backwards compatible games will not work properly as emulation is not as reliable as original.
Unfortunately the backwards compatibility team has been disbanded for 4½ years at this point, Microsoft confirmed that the project is done and no more games will be added to backwards compatible, they did bring it back briefly in 2021 for Xbox’s 20th anniversary but that was a one off and it’s unlikely they’ll ever bring it back.
I bought 3 copies of king kong then realized the 360 version is the high value one i have 2 xbox copies and a ps2 copy lol
I have like 4 360's and a shit ton of games but don't play them. Guys just play them in your current gen machine.
But what if said game isn't available on Steam or current gen machine?
And besides, if a 7th gen game has a Steam equivalent but no current gen equivalent, just get it on Steam
Hi I alternately use 2 xbox360 with 75 games each approx. but I paid attention to the license issue splitting them accordingly.. How about you with 4 consoles ?! I guess only on one you can play games offline due to license transfer thingy?
I have all of those spider man games on ps3. Asuras wrath and knights contract are good games and i have them on ps3. I prefer ps3 over Xbox 360. Fallout and elder scrolls work better on Xbox than Playstation. Sony and Nintendo are my favorite to collect for.

Lollipop chainsaw is ps3 and 360 i think, either way it’s totally worth buying. Dynasty warriors gundam series is also totally worth playing.
This crap about value though is lame, buy the games because they’re fun not because it costs a ton of money. What a pointless vid. Most of the games in this vid are worth playing. Buying to make money is such a horrible “collector” frame of mind. The points you’re making in this are dumb. Those games are legitimately fun aside from sonic and then the value of the Spider-Man I know for at least shattered dimensions for some reason is high.
