This is the last interview by David Bowie. He's being asked about working with Ricky Gervais and appearing on the british tv show "Extras", in 2006. Enjoy and keep cool.
I've thought this for a while, and found out that he was asked to play Max Zorin in A View To A Kill, but turned it down and later said he didn't want to spend five months watching his stunt double fall off cliffs : / So they asked Sting, and then Christopher Walken who is of course excellent.

"Yeah? You and whose army." Such a great joke - I always wondered who made it up. Maybe David should have kept it for himself, and put it in one of his songs.
I love the deadpan, tongue-in-cheek subtlety with which David did this interview, "Well, as you probably know, my background's in serious acting, before I started doing the writing, singing thing;" giving "Rick" pointers on new ways of approaching comedy "that he hadn't really thought about before;" giving him some jokes to use in future episodes - "Yeah? You and whose army?" Or, "If you keep looking like that, your face will stay like it." "That's really quite a zinger, isn't it?" he said cheerfully. Brilliant. Having said that, the first time I happened upon this clip, a couple of months ago, I took it at face value and was left thinking that David's jokes weren't that good and were in fact jokes that had been around. In other words, it went right over my head. But in my defense, I think I was still very much in mourning over David's passing at the time and my perceptions were a little fogged over from all the sadness I'd been feeling.
Honestly i'm sad in the sense that his presence will be missed and he will no longer be here to make music... but when you think about it he lived a full life. +Balloonbot A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat. ;-) It's bloody annoying to look at Bowie here and think he looked that good at 59 though. Grrrr.
+Ricky Rhoades Well now you mention it, he does look a wee bit lizard-like LOL. Rod Stewart's another one of the same era who looks incredible at the age of 70. I know they can spend as much as they like on looking good, but so can many others in their wealth bracket. Yet so many others seem to make a right horlicks of trying to stay looking young.
I've always appreciated Mr. Bowie as a great musician and artist with how he would use different personas - but honestly he was never one of my top ten musical acts (most assuredly a flaw on my part). Yet i obviously thought he was brilliant on Extras with his amazing comic timing - and then seeing this where he could so amazingly mock himself in such a hilarious way while doing such a deadpan kill shot - oh man, so amazing!!! I have shared this at least a couple of times a year for the last decade or so - brilliance on so many levels.

I'm confused by a lot of the comments here. I take it we DO all know that this wasn't a real interview? It was just Bowie and Gervais messing about between shooting scenes. i.e. the person Bowie was talking to here (the "interviewer") was Ricky Gervais.
+Itzdat Managgen Shh, don't tell em. This is pretty convincing, keep it that way.
+Balloonbot A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat. ;-) It's bloody annoying to look at Bowie here and think he looked that good at 59 though. Grrrr.
+Itzdat Managgen The guy doesn't age like normal people. Maybe he did make a deal with the Devil. noo, I'm just kidding!
Devil Cashed his contract in.
This is amazing. David Bowei playing David Brent.
Inspirational genuine Genius RIP .. and the clip he just nails it, one of the best on youtube
Bowies sarcasm here goes right over the head of the generic US entertainment show audience.
@Dr Diablory Nah, just the Extras weren't as syndicated in USA.
Sarcasm is a trait of intelligent people for one.
The bigger the population, the more the intelligent, as more none as such.
Being that with internet, unintelligent got their voice in media...
Easy as that.
This type of humour is ripped straight from THIS IS SPINAL TAP. An American movie.
Nah this kind of humour goes back as far as Shakespeare.....
