As a blink and a stay, once you get further into stray kids you'll realize how incredible they actually are at dancing. They just enjoy interesting choreo that you don't typically see

Multi-Stan here who’s a blink and stay! Completely agree! I love Blackpink but they have pretty basic dances, still hard to do, but more simpler then stray kids. Stray kids waste so much time in it and it’s sad Mv don’t show it much, we should recommend watching their choreography.

He's 22 now, and the time in between has led to a richer, more developed voice and more control, so he's even better now. (He's also one of the two Australian members.)

The first three members who appeared (first rapper, second rapper, first singer) are the three members of 3RACHA, the main producing unit within SKZ. Because SKZ is a self-producing group in the fullest sense -- THEY made this song. THEY make all their songs. 3RACHA are the three youngest producers (ages 25, 23, 22) in the top 15 of _all_ idol producers in the entire history of kpop, and the leader, Chan (the other Aussie), is in the top 10 -- and that's with them being 4th-gen and only having a few years under their belts. So when I and a million other STAYs tell you "self-produced," we mean it in the most encompassing way possible, not in a "wrote a rap" or "added four bars to a lyrics verse" way. They were literally made as an experiment (the leader, not the company, picked the members -- NOT something that's done in kpop -- and they all fought to debut together) and have nearly unprecedented creative control because that's part of the "let's let these kids form their own group and control their own music and see what happens" experiment. Also, while 3RACHA are the main producers and have the high credits count, all eight members produce and are all at around 20 credits or so.
SKZ do have rock and rock-inclusive songs; this just isn't really one of them. They've played with dozens of genres/styles in their music so far, everything from rock and psytrance and pop-punk to samba and jazz to trap and electronica to r&b and soft adult-pop ballads. They're extremely experimental and will consciously make songs that they want to make using sounds they want to play with, rather than just making songs they know will be popular.
They tend to be very well liked by most of the metal fans I've seen explore them, as well as producers who get drawn into the complexities of their music. They're also _not_ very well liked within Korea (but enormously popular internationally) because of the repeated-to-death accusation of them making "noise music" and "pots-and-pans music" and "construction music." Hence them not only making God's Menu with construction imagery and a literal cooking theme, but making an _entire clapback album_ called NOEASY (say it fast: NOISY) because they lean into the hate and dismissals.
Their discography is hovering around 150 songs now (with another album dropping next month and at least two more to come this year), so there's a sh1t-ton to check out if you're interested. They're also very well known for their creative wordplay and often deep lyrics. Sometimes newer people get understandably distracted by the visuals and sonic overwhelm and end up missing the lyrics, so I'm glad you took a look afterward.
SKZ are considered among the best overall dance groups, one of the most synchronized groups (according to AI calculation), and especially as having some of the most iconic and hard-hitting choreo, in the industry rn. This just isn't a dance-focused MV (most of their Korean MVs aren't heavily dance-focused -- they save the full focus for dance practices, live stages, performance vids, etc, because their MVs tend to be full of visual elements already). There's probably not a single active group that wouldn't at least recognize the God's Menu choreo, and a great many have shown they can dance right along, because it's one of the most iconic choreos in 4th gen. Just...yeah, the MV isn't choreo-focused because they were making a point with all the other imagery.
side note: While there's no relation between SKZ's dududu and BP's dududu (it's just a Korean onomatopoeia, SKZ's as the sound of a knife chopping and BP's as the sound of gunshots), Chan (leader) is good friends with Lisa, and SKZ did a cover/mashup called God's Ddu-du Ddu-du during Kingdom, which is worth listening to at some point. (The original version and its 30m+ views was deleted by a hacker that mnet refuses to acknowledge, but the version with reactions from the other competitors is still available to see.)

One thing I don’t see a ton of people recommending but I feel is HIGHLY important for you to witness is their song Red Lights. It’s by only 2 of the 8 members but it’s soooo good and I think you’d really like it! The MV for it is also amazing

Stray Kids have a rather experimental, heavy sound. Not for everyone. I for one am a casual stan. But it’s no secret they are super talented. Fun fact, also self producing
7:50 im SO GLAD you mentioned this because ive watched so many reaction videos but nobody ever reacts to that part. i never really had a word for it, ig growl is good, but i love like. artists who have really deep voices you can hear in their voice sometimes even if they aren't going low that theyre Able to in some circumstances, like i think both avi and matt (from pentatonix) have moments where they aren't hitting those low notes but you can tell in their voices that its there. its something ive always really liked hearing idk.

They're incredible dancers and they give their 110% in live performances. As a Blink, you should definitely check out their cover of BP on Kingdom, so awesome. The dance in God's Menu is super unique too because they really relate it to the lyrics. Notice them chopping the air in the chorus, just like knives on a chopping board hehe. Anyway, welcome to the club. You should definitely check out Back Door next because it's a direct continuation of this song.

Kpop and rock means only one thing - Dreamcatcher! The dark angels of Kpop they mix rock and metal sounds with EDM and Kpop. There really is t anything like them. Superb choreo and great songs. Try Chase Me, Goodnight, Flying High, You and I, What, Piri, Deja Vu. If you want really heavy then their Japanese singles hit hard - Endless Night, No More, Eclipse. Plus they are utterly chaotic and adorable. Dive in!
Hi, loved this reaction! I laughed when you pointed out Felix before even hearing his voice. Usually it's his Michelin line that hooks new Stays, but his looks and his personality keep them coming back. Demon voice, Sunshine fairy love-bug personality 🥰 We are called Stay because if you take the R out of Stray (R = their Reason, i.e. the fans) you get Stay. We stay with them, they stay with us, we make them stay/keep going ❤️ That's the basis for the message at the end of almost every Stray Kids MV.
I was a Blink and KDA ult when I initially discovered kpop until I found God's Menu and Thunderous by SKZ in 2020 and now they're my ULT, just too good and they keep us so well fed with 🔥🔥🔥 content!
I recommend watching an MV and a dance practice or live version back to back to get the full effect, their choreos are so good, they often relate to the lyrics in some way too, are usually powerful and are very well synchronised.
Hyunjin, the second one you pointed out, he's very ethereal looking and rocks both feminine and masculine vibes seamlessly. He's the one who did the Billie Eilish dance cover to When the Party is Over, if you want to check that out. He also did Motley Crew and Play With Fire dance covers. It's something to behold.
By the way, my top favourite groups are now: Stray Kids, Ateez, Oneus and (G)I-dle, I highly recommend checking them out too!
Felix (Deep Voice) does a bunch of Rock techniques when applying his vocals in the studio and ESPECIALLY live. There’s some great vids of their live performances from their 2022 tour and Felix is borderline fry screaming a lot of his lyrics!

CAMI I've literally been watching you since wayyy before you started your Kpop journey and this made me so excited!! Blackpink were also my intro to Kpop and Stray Kids are basically my favorite group nowadays! They do have a lot of rock influences in their music and they write/produce all of it (they do get help sometimes from producers with arranging the songs, but all of the lyrics are theirs). If you want recommendations, I think you'd like Red Lights from them. It's a song from only two of the members. For full groups songs, Time Out is a personal favorite of mine! Again, I'm so happy you reacted to them and I'm glad you liked the song
