I honestly think ella may have been the one to pull the original prank cause:
Queen of hearts states "too nice and too faced" in reference to Cinderella.
Cinderella states "it was just a little prank" to the queen of hearts like it wasn't a big deal which I think she wouldn't have tried to brush off something the villains did like that.
Also if the villains were the ones to prank her, why is The Queen of Hearts hating on Cinderella unless it's because of the reaction from the prank.
Multiple times we see Ella's face turn sour or just odd when Bridget turns away.
If the plan the VKs had was to use a enchanted book that curses those who try to open it with bad intentions, the VKs always were going to end up frozen.
The main change that they actually did was ground Ella before the castlecoming which explains the change in the Queen of Hearts.
We really don't get to see much of Chloe, Cinderella, and Charming in the ending scene showing that they may be the big thing that changes from alternating the time line.
The only big thing I think that shows it may not be that is the looking glass. We see that the Queen of Hearts ends up evil still after Ella gets grounded.
Godammit...this makes so much sense...And it's all I'll remember about the end of this movie. I hate you. lol
yes and Bridget doesn't have any friends, besides Ella. A betrayal from her only friend is big enough to make her not trust anyone
Yess I didn’t really think through to the sequel as I was kinda dissatisfied with how this one resolved itself! I thought throughout the entire movie it was going to be Ella too… and so then it turning into the VK’s and their prank being the end of nice Brigit just seemed odd.
It was a “flat movie” compared the first Descendants movies with some of their twists and turns. With how you explained it however my thought of it being Ella could actually be true and it’d make a lot of sense!
This just made me excited for the next movie! 😂
I was thinking the exact same thing cuz even before red and the other girl time traveled the book was still spelled with the freeze spell and the vks would’ve still be in detention and not attend the ball and the book would be back on the shelf so it is the only logical explanation
I don’t think so since they checked the looking glass AFTER Ella was grounded and it was still the bad timeline. But I do agree it seemed like they were setting up and Ella betrayal hardcore.

Hands dirty definitely has a more realistic message. Being that sometimes you have to do the wrong thing for the right reason.
Also with how abrupt the ending was and we didn't get to see if there was any actual consequences I'm very certain the next movie is going to focus on that and pick up exactly where we left off here.

It feels like half the movie is missing. There’s no real climax or ending
We never see the prank, the dance, what happens to the VKs after they get caught, or anything else that the movie sets up.
They warn about what happens when you mess with time but never show a consequence.
I’m guessing they are planning on wrapping everything up in a sequel but you shouldn’t have to rely on a part 2 to have any actual payoff
A lot of people are loving this movie but I felt weird that I didn’t really like it. The pacing felt off, the story doesn’t feel complete, and the two main characters chemistry was off. I also felt like Brandy and Paolo were wasted in this film, hopefully if there is another one they get something better

Yeah the sequel got announced when they were working on it so they separated half the plot into the 2nd movie
On the bright side, this movie does still have the same musical fun as the previous movies. And for a Descendants movie with almost none of the original cast goes, that’s as good as it can get. Not a complaint, just pointing out the good stuff from this movie.

Same, I know its technically Descendants 4, but I am looking at this, and the future movies as a whole spinoff series. It's much easier to watch and enjoy thinking of it as a spinoff then a continuation, because most times spinoffs aren't as good as the original.

I don’t know how I feel about this movie. Like I enjoyed the beginning, loved the Cameron/ Carlos scene, and the songs and dancing were different and fun. But you can tell it doesn’t have the same feeling Kenny Ortega gives the other descendants movies. There was also a lot of singing and not enough dialogue for me. I loved seeing Brandy and Paolo be back to reprise there role of Cinderella and Prince Charming! I wouldn’t mind second part to this movie ofcourse since it ended this way.

2. I know that she's Brandy, but from what we can all tell, the guy watching this movie only knows her as Cinderella in this movie. Hence why I called her Cinderella instead of Brandy.
3. Prince Charming's parents in the Brandy movie were a white man and a black woman. Clearly the prince is Asian. I'm assuming Chad's genetics skipped a generation and he's more like his grandfather, if we're in a reality where genetics even truly exist for this family.

Another plot hole is how they said if the book gets into the wrong hands you’ll become frozen so how do they play the prank on Bridget if they got the book?
I think in the sequel they will reveal that it was Ella that did prank, but it didn’t happen this time because she was grounded or something

I think they think they did that to tie the original Cinderella with this one.
I think they might have manipulated Ella in some way, causing her to accidentally open the book for them without understanding their intentions. Additionally, Bridget mentioned that when the prank occurred, Ella didn't support her at all and instead pursued her own goals without helping a friend in need. Which might have hurt a lot worse than just humiliation

I watched this last night. Also fun fact the actress & actor who played Cinderella & the Prince in the Rodger and Hammerstein Cinderella that’s on Disney plus came back to play them again in this film. It’s a good movie but nothing will beat the first descendants movie. I do love the time travel aspect of the movie! With the way they ended it with zooming in on uma I’m hoping that they don’t make her evil again bc we’ve been there been that already. That’s if they even make another one to begin with. My favorite character from this is the pink happy kind Bridget from the past when she was a kid.

Even though there was musical fun and links to the previous Descendants movies, I feel like this movie could've done more. I mean the ending seemed rushed and made us sit on the edge of our seats believing Chloe and Red missed something and was going to discover that, but instead it all worked out too well. Especially when they left hints and tensions between Cinderella and Queen of Hearts, making me wonder if the VK's had a back up revenge plan - promise a way for Cinderella to be at the dance as long as she helps with them pranking Queen of Hearts but then Fairy Godmother manages to perfect her magic and gets Cinderella a dress, making Cinderella think the pranks off but nope. That's just what I thought they could've done just to make the tension between them make sense and make sense of cinderella labelling it all as a harmless prank. Also they forgot not to call out Chad, I mean did they forget they had a son who had an obsession of being king, lol. Still got some good vocals and dances out of it

I mean the reason Ella could go to the ball is because she is Cinderella. She’s got a fairy godmother, so I’m pretty sure that’s how she was able to go to the dance. 💃
A little detail they missed was to make Red throw white paint at the queen's portrait. It'll nicely foreshadow her mother's transformation AND references the animated movie where the guards paint white roses red.
I think I prefer this over the original trilogy. Also I find it funny that Hook is the most masculine of the VK when his son is the most flamboyant. No one's beating Morgan though, what with him looking like Tanner from Teen Beach Movie & wearing that choker.

My BIGGEST gripe tho is why is Morgana Le Fey's son kind of stupid? He's giving Gil, but Gil has a reason to be dense. Morgie doesn't reflect Morgana in anyway and why is he part snake? He's more like the snake from Jungle Book instead of Morgana from Arthurian legend.

That's because the prank wasn't actually shown in the movie! They separated that part of the plot into the 2nd movie, that's the reason why Ella was hinted at being the prankster the entire time but it never happened
She most likely got someone such as Ella to help her steal the book.

This movie flew by so quickly! I felt like I had just started watching it and then it was over 😂🤯 I hope the next one is longer, but I thought they used the time really well and fit in a lot of fire songs and choreo, which was one of my biggest worries going into it, so that was a relief! 🙏😅

I really appreciated how they honored Cameron Boyce in this movie. And the feelings and the look on Uma's face said it all and that wasn't acting that was true genuine human emotion and I loved that they honored him with that adding it into the movie.
This was probably the most anti-climactic movie ever.

Yay! Someone who sees the plot hole in the end! There's so many things wrong with the ending. Overall, the film isn't bad. I feel some songs are forgettable. Now, this film is technically D4, but if it really is a continuation, I feel it didn't live up. I prefer to look at this and the next movie (or movies) as a spinoff series. Spinoff's are never as good as the original, so you can't judge it the same.
PLEASE REACT TO "SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON"! It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken.

Ok, so yes the ending is a bit rushed, it definitely took the 'setting up for a sequel' a bit too far because we wanted to know if there was something else that happened.
Then again, the girls are teenagers and teenagers don't always think things through ten steps in advance (and sometimes guessing what might happen ten steps in advance can be overwhelming and make you feel worse) so I suppose it's realistic that they're just assuming they did what they needed to do (not trying to generalise about teenagers though, I don't doubt that some think ahead further than others, same as adults, I guess Chloe was mostly just trying to think of 'preventing things that stop my mother's head from being chopped off).
Wonder if it might be better as a miniseries because then they could give us a bit more of a hint and have more timing, but either way, even if it hasn't been officially announced yet, a 5th movie is all but confirmed.

imo, i find it a bit odd how cinderella dresses, like with the big dress and a big tiara, i mean i know she is a queen, but it kinda reminds me back to how belle was dressing in the first trilogy, like she wears her dress simple, with no big tiara, but idk tho its just my opinion..

I'm calling it. I think Chloe Charming and/or young Ella Charming is going to be the real villain come the next movie. She just seems...passively nasty. She broke the vase when they visited her Mom. She threw literal dirt in her Mom's face when they were sprucing up the garden. And then she just ASSUMES because Red got the magic book and broke the spell that things will be hunky dory at home without even waiting till the Castlecoming party or checking the Looking Glass to actually confirm that the person who pranked Red's Mom doesn't try another way of pranking her and turning her into a monster and that future QOH is now good. And I notice, when they DO return, that the Queen's dress is only partially white. I don't think their "fix" really worked. And it WAS Queen Ella who seemed to know exactly why Bridget (aka, the Queen of Hearts) was so instantly cold and sinister when she saw her old friend. A prank was played, and something HORRIBLE happened that night, during Castlecoming that caused Bridget to change her whole personality from this effervescent, pink, sugar-coated bubble of hopes and dreams to this dark and smoldering Queen whose favorite pastime is beheading her subjects and criticizing her daughter. I think Ella did it (perhaps because Bridget had what Ella didn't and she was secretly jealous and wanted to get back at her) and Chloe maybe knows this story and doesn't want Bridget to see the truth, because if she DOES she that its Queen Ella who did this to her Mom, Princess Red might change her mind about changing the past and saving Queen Ella from death at her mother's hands.
Agree that we needed more run time. My theory is that all of these events basically undo the events of Alice In Wonderland all together so maybe they'll have to go back and fix the timeline

Everyone keeps saying “oh theres anothe movie coming so we will find out what happens in that” but the fact is. That NEVER happened with the first three! We always got a wrapped up story line
i think they might make like a 2nd movie to this because Maddox Hatter mentioned there being consequences but we don't see them... what if the consequence is that now it's Uliana who is driven mad by the thought of revenge on Bridget and comes back to destroy the Quren of Hearts and they'll have to go back in time again and try not to stop the prank but get Uliana and Bridget somehow make up during the ball (and we also get to see the ball bc come on i was waiting for it but we didn't get to see it), or maybe Uliana gets to play her prank but Red comforts her young mother which saves her from turning evil bc she was mad at Ella in the first place that she didn't care for her but continued dancing with Charming, SO MAYBE what turned her evil wasn't the prank itself but the fact that her own bff didn't care for her enough at that moment to be there for her! so there are my 2 theories

Just literally watched this movie today and I have some thoughts I really liked the story but some of it, only minor things that confused me, firstly in the original I thought it was just based off of the original fairytales but they've created a whole behind this world that doesn't follow traditional fairytales even the Disney fairytales, then also why do people like Cinderella's daughter have blue hair and why does she have blue hair, I'm okay with the race swap of Cinderella but also Prince charming is Asian? It wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't reference Chad who is clearly white yet related to Cinderella I always imagined that Cinderella was the classic blonde since in the first descendants film everything more closely followed the way that the characters looked, also I thought only the villain kids had different coloured hair why does Cinderella and her daughter have different coloured hair hair they really shouldn't it should be like brown or blonde or black, like they should be dressed normally it's only the villain kids who had the weird colourful costumes that were cool but like it was still supposed to be normal they were still supposed to kinda look normal with normal hair and things like if you see from the first film so that really confuse me, like red hair and her mum like that makes sense, but what's up with Cinderella's daughter her hair shouldn't be blue in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with it and I know it's all about costume choices aside from that weird Laura breaking and weird casting and costume decisions it's actually surprisingly good in terms of the story I was a little bit worried about them creating a fourth film and honestly still wish they hadn't but I have to say I am intrigued just a bit confused about the overall of this world now, as it broke things from the original, like I said it felt like in the original universe it was just fairytales as we knew them from the original Disney fairytales, but they've created a whole other universe where everyone existed at the same time cool but again confusing because it means it follows a whole different world, at least on the bright side it explains how everyone could exist at the same time, I just don't remember that being a thing in the original, like they said the beast brought everyone back from the dead who was a villain and then put them all on the aisle, like if you've read the books the books do not follow with this new fourth film, there might've been other books that explain it I haven't read any of the books, but I've heard that there was explained how they were able to exist in the same universe and everything, but it feels like that's been undone now and it was a bit hard to wrap my head around when I watched it because I wasn't quite sure what was going on was confusing, again I haven't read the books but I have seen the first three films and this one feels like it breaks in a little bit or rewrite the law which is fine because it's a time travel movie and time travel movies are very hard to get right, whenever time travel is involved it can end badly and I felt like this was handled surprisingly well, with a surprisingly clear premise, but all the other stuff confused me as I don't know if there's been some other time travelling that's happened where that's why everything's a little bit different from the universe we know or if one did grow up together and we just didn't have that explained properly in the first film like maybe they didn't make it fully clear I don't know, but if someone could help me out by just explaining further on the law of all of this that would be great, as that's the only downside I had to this film was understanding things about Wonderland and why there's no Alice and why it was ruled by the red queen as a tyrant because that's not how I remember Wonderland being and I don't know what universe it's falling under or if it's just a brand-new universal together like they mention the Jabe so is this the same universe as Johnny Depp and Wonderland or the same universe as the Disney Wonderland I would've assumed it was the Disney Wonderland but it could also be a brand-new one altogether, but if that's the case I feel like we just needed a bit more explanation, maybe if they make a fifth or a 61 we can get more explanation and more worldbuilding maybe even like a pre-cool that explains things a bit further cause this one kind of gave us that with them going back in time, but like I said they were a lot of things that confused me about how this universe worked because I thought Bell and beast brought everyone together and reunited them and then created all the different kingdoms and everything together I didn't think people already existed altogether in this universe at the same time already but again I might've just missed something so if someone could clarify that for me that would be great, again I'm also not sure what's up with the blue hair and stuff I thought that was a villain kid thing because like I said charming and and Audrey, Jane etc all had normal coloured hair and dress a little little bit more normally compared to the villain kids with their coloured hair and stuff but again I could just be missing something and would love and explanation just to clarify on that, because again it was just a little bit confusing as I feel like I'm missing some bits of law, I know for a little kids watching this they're probably not gonna care about all that stuff and I love that they're doing it for a new generation I'm just wishing we had a bit more of a backstory or a bit more of an explanation on this stuff just to make it a bit clearer because it feels like a giant jump and it feels like I've skipped over a whole book or a whole chapter of a story, supposed to be starting a new chapter and a new story and everything with new characters, but I just thought they'd be a little bit more connection and time to the first one that gave us more explanation, they do a little bit by mentioning Bell and beast and mentioning Ben and Mel and everyone but I don't know I just felt like I was still missing something in terms of the first three films and this one disjointed upon the law and the world where altering what we already knew so I feel like there needs to be a bit of an explanation there but again maybe there are books that explain it like they were books before the other films and stuff so maybe I'm just missing something but I feel like you shouldn't have to read the other books to follow along you should just be able to watch the first three films and then watch this film and it makes sense but like I said it didn't cause it kind of contradicted a lot of things from the previous three films so again I just don't really know what's happening there or why it felt so just jointed, don't get me wrong the story itself was good it's just how it fits into previous three films and the overarching law that confused me, because I didn't know what was quite going on there, so a bit of a drop of the ball in that regard, but like I said I still enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised by the film, it felt like the beginning of something like the first chapter of a story while also feeling like I said disjointed from the other three so maybe they'll help joint things together and completed with the next chapter of the book the next film, all the other three films were okay as standalone films and although they always said you didn't think this was the end of the story did you at the end of all the other ones, the third film really felt and this one felt like a brand-new story altogether, this one when they say you didn't think that was another story did you it really does feel like it is the first chapter really does feel like there is more so I am happy about that and I just hope we get more worldbuilding and more explanation for a certain things that just didn't quite make sense or didn't join together with the original three films as good as I would've liked, again I know this is just a DCOM so it's not a huge deal about it being super accurate but I don't know if we had different people working on this film or what, like I said aside from being a pretty enjoyable film and a pretty good overall story, a lot of it felt disconnected from the original law and the original world as well as just being a bit disjointed from the original films, again I don't know if that's because we had different people working on this one or it's just been so many years or what I am curious to see where they take it moving forward.
I apologise for any spelling mistakes or lack of punctuation, but I am visually impaired and just wanted to get my thoughts down, like I said I did really enjoy this film and was pleasantly surprised, but just had a lot of thoughts on the overall law of this universe as there were a lot of things that didn't quite make sense to me based on the previous three films, which were a little bit disappointing, as it made it feel somewhat disconnected and disjointed from the previous universe that had already been established, I just wish that given a bit more of an explanation or tying to explain how different things worked, as like I said it feels like a giant time jump and Feels like we're missing a chapter of the story, the third one has such a good ending and this one feels like a brand-new chapter of a brand-new book and the start of something new, but I just wish they had given a bit more of an explanation if possible so it didn't feel so disjointed, as I said it feels like they Rewrote stuff from the original film as well as just making things not quite make sense, for example Chad charming Prince charming son, I like the Rogers and Hammerstein version of Cinderella and Prince charming, they just don't fit with Chad from the original trilogy as he was clearly from The cartoon Cinderella so are multiple Cinderella and Prince charming that live in this universe, if so that's fine but the fact that Prince Charming called Chad his son confuses me even further because they do not look alike at all, again some explanation would be nice as maybe I'm missing something or maybe people just don't think that heavily about it because it's a Disney Channel Film but as someone who loves law and worldbuilding it was just a bit of confusing for me and a bit of a disappointment on that end, but the actual story itself was good and I liked what they did with it, as I said time travel stories you never know how it's gonna go and this one was surprisingly cohesive.I just wish the rest of the world could've been as well, because then this film would've been perfect for what it is, but those are my only real grapes with it.

I quite enjoyed this film! The songs were bangers, the story was unique, and the actors were amazing in their respective roles!!! I do agree that the ending was anticlimactic, but I strongly believe that all that will be explored in the next film!!! Similar to the Back To The Future trilogy, there are some unanswered questions such as that if a VK can’t open the cookbook but an AK can. Also take into account that Morgie was the only one not frozen; it’s possible he found a way to break the gang out or manipulated Ella or Bridget or someone else to open the cookbook and still pulled the prank. We’ll just have to as only time will tell.

Finally!! I actually rlly liked this movie!! In my opinion for a kids movie it’s still pretty good. The only think I’m slightly upset about is the ending, I feel like we should’ve seen how the dance went originally, and see what went wrong when they returned because from what it sounded like in the beginning, Ella was looking very suspicious when talking to Red. Gut feeling or what not I just feel like it should have been slightly more extended. Love it though!!!
I'm not particularly a fan of Descendants (because I feel like it's ripping off another franchise that I enjoyed at the time), but Carlos was always my favorite. It's really sad to know that Cameron Boyce is gone, so I appreciate the little tributes to him following his death (and he would've been my age, 25, as of writing this comment).
I also remember hearing that Cameron was originally going to be in a movie featuring Adam Sandler (Hubie Halloween), but he died just before they could start production.
This film more mature than previous
mini plothole: how does Uma know Chloe and Red went back in time?, I know it's the end narration but in the other films the end monologues never recapped exactly what happened so why have her do a long winded monologue that includes a warning about messing with time?
This story was made as a Part 1 and Part 2. I think that Red and Chloe will undo everything and Red will learn that she has to accept the mother that has been given to her and she can't just go back and change everything, but instead find a way forward in the present.

yeah, when i first watch the trailer and i found out tht it was time travel related, i thought tht they would want to change the queen of heart from being evil to being nice, but i feel like 'why would they do tht? Isnt queen of heart supposed to be evil? off with their heads is her most iconic line in disney, and with her being nice she would never say tht anymore, right?' and turns out at the end of the movie, the queen did turn nice, it kinda bugs me, but seeing thru the comments saying tht there will be a sec movie, hoepfully they will change her back to her iconic personality.
and also when i watch the movie i thought tht there will be a lesson for the mc that they cannot change the past, but it doenst go tht way, they manage to do their plans well
