Playing along in july 2022. Right as you ID'd a 1-2 cold damage grand charm and say "oooh that's really nice!" I ID'd a 1-2 cold damage + 5% cold res small charm :D It's nice seeing you appreciate items that aren't just the obvious good things :) I've had pretty nice small charm luck so far, got that one and a 1-3 light dmg + 5% cold res, and a 7% fire res 10% gold find! Loving these videos!

Funny little story.. How I used my first Ber rune with my barb when i was a kid.. about 12 or 13 years ago I was 12 or 13 playing Diablo 2 all the time for a couple years already, knew nothing about runewords, and just used runes as I got them in weapons or armor or whatever. Always got my characters through to about hell act 3 then things get really really difficult and slow. My barb was my baby. I ran normal baal runs on him until he was level 60!! Wow lmao! I ran 2 bloodletters until I found my first lightsaber! What an upgrade!... So I used a socket quest on it and put a Ber rune in it. I was running gore riders, an Umed rattlecage, and needed more crushing blow having NO IDEA how rare a Ber rune was. I ran an Amned Headstriker and Ber-ed lightsaber for a long time and that set up was great to get my barb who was already level 80 in act 3 hell to the ancients!
I could do the whole game (norm-nightm-hell) with two Bloodletters before 1.10 as a frenzybarb. After that patch the whole character went shit. Good old days.
Ha that's hilarious. I've never found anything higher than a Vex on Battle.net in all my years. Found some higher runes in private servers like Slash and PoD though.
@@pacman_ I played battlenet pretty late, about 2010. People gave me free torches and enigmas on non-ladder. I did a lot of baalrun alone, but nver found any really good items.
Lovely story! I remember my first paladin, rockin a 2 handed hammer (the one with the black scull on top of it) and maxing holy shock aura. Truely skilled the tree without any knowledge or idea 😂🙈. Still, it was loads of fun and really scary...i remember looking for izual in a4, almost pooping my pants. Just a lovely game!

I hope I haven't left too many comments on this video, and if I have I'm sorry. I just want to say thank you for this guided playthrough. While I didn't follow along exactly I learned so much that I was able to take out Duriel & Diablo on my first try like they were nothing. I had an easier time with Diablo as a thicc boi barb than I did with my summonmancer. I'm going to finish up Act 5 & get started on nightmare. The oblivion knights have taught me that I clearly need cannot be frozen. Looks like I'll be farming for that soon.

If someone has come back to watch this video after D2R release, the easiest to get Cannot be frozen source now is Deaths belt. Cow king has a one in 60 something chance to drop it. Same odds as D2 LOD, but you weren't supposed to kill the cow king in D2 LOD

Oldie but a goodie ! I love just running through the campaign SSF and more or less delete my character’s and try again with a different build. But after seeing this one I’m gonna run a full melee barb through hell. Just finished a Zealot SSF through hell and it was tough but this looks much more difficult imo ! Love the challenges this game gives you depending on how you decide to play
Same thing happened to me last night, farmed EL for like two hours, then went back to act 2 and had like three drop over the course of an hour from random mobs.
I think having a 4th video showing the options for GG end game setups and different purposes would be useful This way once we complete the game we can MF towards the gg build and you can showcase the best MF barb char to gain gear, then show off the poor mans torch farmer, the gf barb, the berserker MF barb etc, and showing which options are best for end game game play (zerk teleport, frenzy, WW). I know there are lots of end game videos online but you could use hero editor to quickly make all options and kill examples into one video. The knowledge of You and your chat would be really helpful. I’m thinking of doing a single player holy grail but I dont wanna do paladín or sorc. So was thinking barb and cant find a video showing how to MF the game as a barb outside of pit zerk. I think a 2-3 hour video would cover everything. What r your thoughts Mr llama? I could explain my idea more if you need clarification

So I had a Barb, this was the early days of the game. I ended up getting the Immortal Kings set and was so excited. I was running cow levels with a random druid, got surrounded and died. On the way back to my body I picked up random gear laying on the ground. Got to my body and clicked to rez. My body popped and the set fell to the ground. Before i could drop anything to pick it up the Druid grabbed it all and left the game. I quit D2 forever after that
I want to know how you are finding all these ledgendarys and set items! I have only ever found one set item in D2 while playing, and that was just before D3 came out and a group of people were from RH Gaming was playing Hardcore runs before the game dropped in about a week... I think it was an armor of some kind. Its been awhile so I cant remember....
Ya gotta play more. Unique are very common actually, the good ones are not though. Once you start farming hell you skip most unique items because they're trash
I was pretty sure that the gem shrine isn't random, but first encountered in a left to right path. Not certain though as it's been years. Playing like this never crossed my mind back then either. I always full cleared each zone systematically, and never farmed anything. Just farming runes from Countess makes HUGE changes possible.
i had a frenzy barb back in the day, owned everything even in pvp, people allways mistook him for a ww barb, and the fact he used to disaapear when striking, some weird bug, he was geared up, perfect everything

Guys, I found a cheese strat vs Diablo while playing with my Frenzy barb. We were both standing at the pointy corner to the right of his spawn platform. We were kinda positioned a way that he was on one side of the corner pillar and I was on the other side. All he did was the cold punch, literally for the entire duration of the fight.
My buddy and I started barbs on D2R last night and made it to the cube in A2. I’m trying to follow your build and it’s been fun. For mercenaries we split between defense and offense but his offensive guy never popped blessed aim. Looks like you had the same issue lol.
wondering if you will be doing a updated play through for 2.6? I dont think the information in your old play through's work anymore and might give new players bad ideas. I know you have the guides but thats different, love the old play through's, thanks and good luck.
Wish they didn't remove damage potions from the stores. XD Also Whirlwind barb has the potential to be exactly when it op. They just removed having max speed naturally which was a horrible change. It's literally why not many like the expansion barbarian in D2. Funny part is I think it was part of a balance patch to change it in the cancelled expansion. It was also going to fix inferno spells.
Is the direction in Tal Rasha's Tomb to Duriel the final boss fight very random and unpredictable? I obviously don't know all the secrets for which directions to go like you do, but even didn't go right there. For some reason it seems to be the very often is almost the last place I look.
2:13:25 As far as I know, the desert mercenaries have a chance to activate their aura on attacking, and that chance goes down as the merc's level goes up.

I was lucky enough to find Iceblink when I killed Mephisto. I held on to it until I faced him again in Nightmare
My buddy and I started barbs on D2R last night and made it to the cube in A2. I’m trying to follow your build and it’s been fun. For mercenaries we split between defense and offense but his offensive guy never popped blessed aim. Looks like you had the same issue lol.

wondering if you will be doing a updated play through for 2.6? I dont think the information in your old play through's work anymore and might give new players bad ideas. I know you have the guides but thats different, love the old play through's, thanks and good luck.
Wish they didn't remove damage potions from the stores. XD Also Whirlwind barb has the potential to be exactly when it op. They just removed having max speed naturally which was a horrible change. It's literally why not many like the expansion barbarian in D2. Funny part is I think it was part of a balance patch to change it in the cancelled expansion. It was also going to fix inferno spells.

Is the direction in Tal Rasha's Tomb to Duriel the final boss fight very random and unpredictable?
I obviously don't know all the secrets for which directions to go like you do, but even didn't go right there.
