The Diablo 2 Sorceress Guided Playthrough continues! If you're looking for help in building a Sorceress through hell, these are the videos for you. In Part 2 we run through Nightmare difficulty of Diablo and get to level 50+ so we can move onto Hell without any experience difficulties.

Important note: If you are playing Diablo 2 Resurrected you will be able to craft a Spirit sword. They removed the restrictions for the remake.
Good call. Also Insight for your mercenary, so you can solve your mana problems forever.
@@TheSilentScreamX This change might be the single biggest reason for me actually deciding to buy D2R. As I only play SP the runeword restriction always felt such a bummer.
You can also kill the Cow King and won’t lose your Act 5 red portal any more!

@@asd1245d Not true I have a spirit sword and I play offline PlugY. You have to enable Ladder runewords in the .ini file
I wonder if im the only 1 watching from normal/nightmare to hell videos JUST for Diablo 2 resurrected. Going to be over 15H total... play/pause open up sticky notes. Haven't touched this game since around 2000-2003 when I was a hardcore player myself.

When you called it a speedrun, the first thing I thought about is how your RNG is going to get much worse
I honestly love my flamethrower Sorc. Does have a severe drop off due to fire immunity, but the meme value of running around like a Sister of Battle purging heresy with a heavy flamer. It's pretty great.
I ended up rolling a Rhyme rather than Ancients Pledge, solely for the MF. Love your videos man, you inspired me to restart D2 LoD again, been back for 2 days my blizz mf sorc is @ 82. I don't think I will ever get tired of playing D2. This D2R is going to be absolutely amazing!

i started playing diablo 2 after kinda like 10 years+ and your guides help a lot with rune word and stuff
as a kid i dont know anything about builds so the coolest skill won the race doesn´t work out that well :D

I would disagree with the "You can go through nightmare as fire" statement. In Act 4 of nightmare there are too many mobs that are fire immune, including one of the seal bosses in the Chaos Sanctuary. I'd switch to cold or lightning after killing Nightmare Mephisto.
Agreed. Fire is great in Normal and in *most* of Nightmare, but those late act immunes are the reason all the Meteorb guides recommend running Frozen Orb through Nightmare. If you save points or respec, you can actually max Fireball levels 12-31 and Orb levels 30-49 no problem, with spare points going to Meteor (maxed at 67, or sooner if you get to Izzy early).
Swap Blizzard in for Orb to make a Blizzballer instead, same idea.
Isn't one of the seal bosses also light immune? Not Seis or Infector, but the flying ghost thing.
You were talking about how once into hell you advise adding one of those main fire skills to your rotation for the cold immunes. It sounds like the rather well-known Meteorb build. Where Meteor and Frozen Orb are your main skills with the masteries to back them up.
This is the first time I've had a successful sorc build. Ivey never had the knack for it, but this has made it way easier

Why don't you put 1 point into warmth? A single point in that means you don't need to pump points into energy
Great guide Llama. Had this game 20 years and was never that into playing Sorc. Figured I try out the build before the ladder reset for a change of pace and I'm cruising through nightmare on the hardcore ladder (just with less teleporting).
These are great guides! They also really highlight why d2r needs to add the /players command to the console ports
If anyone is watching this guide one year later (like me) this option now exists in the settings!
@@Salamandaa Yup, I’m pretty excited about it! My only real issue with the Switch port at this point is that it’ll occasionally just forget a day’s worth of progress on single player, which can be pretty deflating

Mr. Llama is such a speed runner, he puts his ID tome on the left so he doesn’t have to mouse all the way to the right side of his inventory.
There are several things in this guide that I think can make hell so much easier. 1) consider this what you will but I don't see any reason to speed run if it's not for a fresh ladder reset. And therefore running plugy and using ladder runewords seems perfectly legit to me. Spirit makes everything easier.
2) go blizzard right at 24 with your first re spec dumping points into lightning for boss kills until you hit it. I personally make sure I hit 24 before mephisto in act 3 to make the transition smooth.
3) Rather then magic finding mephisto in nightmare spend that time getting to 65+ in Baal runs. This allows you to hit good damage with blizzard and good damage with meteor. You can handle anything in hell at this point.
4) forget shopping a lower resist wand. It does nothing for cold. Shop a life tap wand and get your merc some decent gear. If it's something you need your merc to tank(trav, ancients) you can life tap it and he will never die.

in D2R i teleported out of the map by using the long teleport trick XD it was so weird i was in a 1 square area that had super small texture of what the normal maps ground texture was.

He is not picking up grey swords which are potential spirit bases, and in case you didnt waste your larzuk quest, you have a great chance that you have a spirit sword in your pocket, either via white ones enhanced by larzuk, or greys that drops at the countess tower or cows alot so keep that in mind guys.
I just figured out that it was mentioned, but couldnt contain myself, spirit is too good, its like a stealth but in nm ;)
I started to play plugy yesterday and I'm on act 1 nightmare with lvl 32 blizz sorc just watching the video and playing along

Why no point in warmth? Gives you 30% mana regen, and you can use 4 points to get energy shield too. Those 2 skills are very helpful.

What about the strategy of putting all points into energy and none into vitality, maxing the magic shield so to consume mana instead of life when getting damage? I see lot of people suggesting that, what strategy is better? Thanks.

Admittedly, (still a relative noob compared to most people) I still don't understand why people say that going mostly energy on Sorc is crazy!
Strength - hey, you wanna get that armour or not?
Dexterity - after the first part of the first act of the first game, you'll prolly never use that again
Life - ok, fair enough, decreases the chance of your character wasting time doing that dramatic performance when hit. Also, people die when they are killed and having more life makes it harder to die
Mana - is literally EVERYTHING she uses, at least in this case
I have Mana at 60 now. Aim to get it to at least 100 or above by the end of my norm playthrough
Why? With proper rune setups you literally never worry about mana anymore. Even if you do burn a majority say teleworking across several maps, a few idle seconds later and half your mana is recharged. A few points while leveling is great to have but between insight on your merc and 1 pt into warmth (plus all of your +skills pieces) is more than you will need even 8n nightmare. Both of those rune weapons are very easy to make, even in normal.

@@tommygunengineer9184 4socket rune word on merc weapon 'Insight'. It can be rolled between lvl 12-17 meditation aura. Really early to get and the highest rune is 'sol'

With this guide, I'm officially the farthest I ever got in HC with act 4 nightmare now with sorc, and going strong. Mind you, I activated ladder runewords in SP so I'm running now Spirit on a crystal sword.
UPDATE: Made it through Nightmare, now I'm in the process of leveling and getting ready to face Hell. Maybe I will switch to Blizzard...

@@infantiltinferno Oh just to update, I died right before Hell Baal. Saw that I'm not strong enough for the throne room and decided to try to farm Hell Mephisto. He hits harder than I remember :( Got smacked by a particularly unlucky charged bolt + floor soul combination. I'm now playing a HC bone necro, currently a1 nightmare, hopefully it will be easier to finish Hell.
@@vladimirtchuiev2218 gl to you, I lost my 95 light sorc last ladder due to lag + dolls in durance. A5 Merc with lawbringer helps ALOT for a sorc, I didnt have one lol

I've seen you do some challenge runs but I've got one that'll test even you. A "No Runeword" run. NO runewords of any sort. You can USE runes just not in an order the gives you a word. That means no stealth, no leaf, no lore...nothing.
I've maxed out my fire skill points and wonder where do I go next? Do I take out the points in fire, and then add them to cold completely or one at a time in either cold or lightening?
since before patch 1.08 I have only played classic. I really enjoy classic and never enjoyed the do everything on one character of xpac, also the full inventory at all times bothered me. With D2R coming out I've put thought into playing LoD, but not knowing ANYTHING is keeping me from making the commitment. I have been watching videos here and there but its all so much lol. Advice? Again I really enjoy classic lol

Energy shield with 150 mana is kinda pointless. Personally don't love this skill, it killed my HC char when i was traveling by teleport and was hit by nihlathak snake, just vaporized mana and that was it. Also do not love MoM for PoE for same reason. Was burning in atziri room trying to blink out....
Could you pls give some advice on what Items to keep in stash. I have alot of runes and jems that I have no immediate use for and I don't know what to keep and sell.
does sorc have to be fragile? What about energy shield + telekinesis and putting points into energy, does that not make her "tanky"?

Was doing some LK runs with my mf Sorc the other day and I got a pretty awesome rare circlet. +2 PnB skills, 20 FCR, 18, 18 cold res, 30 fire res, 18 poison res. Repairs durability(but not eth), and +4 min damage, but those were the ones I didn't care about. I have a level 30 Necro I can give it to(required level 31), since I'm using plugY. Got a few runes too, Sur, Lum, Ko, and a Fal. Also one +traps gc. Was expecting more high runes after hearing how good it is to run the lower kurast runs are, but pretty happy with the results after a few days. I also got about 4 white monarchs, a few from racks and a few from mobs. Nice to have those ready to be socketed for Spirit shields for other characters too. After watching the racks video I look for them more often now. Got an eth Ogre axe too, but I think that isn't the best base for an act 2 merc right? Cryptic axe and colossus voulge is what I hear about more often. May throw on some music or continue listening to some of these runs and do some more LK runs over the weekend.

You need to get a with crystal sword from the cow level in normal and it will be guaranteed 4os from larzuk

having really bad luck on ladder so i decided to roll my single player to use /players8 to feel better about my ******* rng... 5 countess runs and i finished spirit/insight/lore/white. so i guess my rng just didnt want me playing bnet.
are the original characters still going to be playable in D2R?

So you can do it that way but there is a small delay built on when you do it like that. Left clicking twice, even with the confirm dialogue is faster.
