    I think it’s totally okay to use the drill if you use it on low and are gentle with the nails. Most people just drill too hard which makes it bad.

    • @alisa4407
      @alisa4407 Před 5 lety +8

      What i do is make sure all nail polish is off, push the cuticle as far back as i can with the scraper flat side (gently of course) and then take the file around that area to make sure the skin is off th nail plate. Then i lightly buff the shine off instead of the file so i don't go to far down. Dust every thing off before i dehydrate and prime the nail and boom. Prep takes me max 15 mins

    I always get an overlay over my natural nails. I never have lifting at the cuticle. But with every full set, about half of them lift at the tips within the same day, or a day or two later. I always figured it was not enough primer applied, being that I have long nails. The tech only apply it at the cuticle area, and only redips the brush about every 3 - 4 nails. I figured the primer just wasn't reaching all the way to the tip of my nails.

    I followed the information from all the YN videos, to prevent nail lifting. Using the ball diamond tip.
    My nails are now ruined. I even ended up with a thumb nail bleeding through. I also now have a fungal nail infection in one nail.
    I would recommend to any followers to NOT E-File the cuticle area. Instead use a cuticle remover cream and only lightly sand the cuticle area by hand.
    Honestly, the advice from YN has put my nail journey, (of having my nails grow out using acrylics and then step back to just gel polish) back by at least a year or more.
    My nails are ruined after following the YN advice.
    Please do not E-File your cuticles. They just end up destroyed.😡🤬😰🤯🥵🥶

    • @lovebug6388
      @lovebug6388 Před 5 lety +23

      To prep the natural nail using a hand file use a 220-240 grit file. Take a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick and push back the cuticles. Working from center to side on nail from the middle of the nail, remove the ptygerium from the nail plate. Hold back skin if necessary. Once completed, switch to an 180 grit file and remove shine from old product and check for cracks and lifting. File and blend out any cracks in the enhancements. Remove dust with nail brush or lint free wipe and dehydrate nail. Based on the system you're using either ph bond or acid prime the area to be filled. Now you're ready to complete your fill! Hope this helps and clarifies!

    With protein bond, do you still use a nail glue in order to adhere your full nail form to the natural nail or does, dehydrating and nail primer done, act as the glue for under the lamp?? Xx

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 6 lety

      this happens as our natural nail starts to pull away from the product. To help prevent this use cuticle oil not only around the cuticle area but a little underneath the nail as well

  • @madelinefigueroa7457
    @madelinefigueroa7457 Před 5 lety

    That process works when you have a client that does not have a lot of cuticle and the nail has a decent shape. Nails with little or no cuticle are easy to work on. I would like to see you do a refill on a client with a lot of crusty cuticle to see if you get no lifting with the method you use. There's clients that need a lot more work on preping the nails when they have difficult cuticles or nail shapes.

    Just got poly gel nails done and 3 days later they are all lifting at the cuticles....so unhappy. I went to a salon to get them done...

    Would it be a good practice to always use the marker with clients until you’re comfortable? I have a hard time with that and sealing after I’m done. I want to start offering services but lifting/chipping scares me, especially for my price point.

    I use all YN products but I have a few clients that have lifting on the free edge as the natural nail grows out. I use an under the nail cleaner bit but can you recommend what I should do different to keep the acrylic from seperating?

    I have deep pockets and when my nails are put on they never go all the way from one side to the other. I always have a sliver on both sides of my natural nails. I always get lift on one side or the other within a week on almost all nails. I feel so uncomfortable saying anything to my nail tech though. Im wondering if i should shop around for another place.

    What do you do if you have lifting from the free-edge as it’s chipping and lifting away from the natural nail both on me and my clients and I don’t know know what I’m doing wrong

    The protein bond can be used as a primer or is it just a base coat type thing? 👀

    wouldn't it be easier to use a different bit, there are some especially for removing cuticles with very small heads

    Hey Tracey, which drill should I use for applying and removing gel/shellac?

  • @Airreealistic-Transitions

    I have been trying to get a good drill I bought one and it's to hard I end up ripping my skin even on low setting. Can you tell me the name or brand of yours

    I recently have had a handful of clients who’s nails will start to lift in the middle. I’ve never had this problem before but two or three of my current clients are experiencing this. The weirdest thing is that the nail is fully attached all the around the cuticle (although grown out) and they just like have this big bubble in the middle.
    I’ve been doing nails 11 years and have never had this happen like it is with these few clients. Any ideas on why this is happening or how to prevent it? It seems that I’m still prepping correctly based on this video since it is attached around the cuticle area so I’m not sure why this would happen.
    Thanks for any help you can give!

    Does water cause lifting? I do quite a bit of general housework (laundry, dishes etc) which involves a lot of water and chemicals daily. I also wash my hands quite a bit too. I’ve noticed that when I do this, my acrylic lifts. Is this true? Or am I doing something wrong? 🤔
