      @BurritosAndSnow190 Před 8 měsíci +25

      @@v-squared @tomridway66 that cameo was very intentional. We've seen the clip of Hera trying to convince the New Republic Council of Thrawn's threat. My guess is that doesn't land well with the Council. Cut to the Adelphi Squadron, which we already know has a penchant for bending the rules and no love for the New Republic Bureaucracy. Zeb's inclusion with them will give Hera and avenue for some needed military muscle when the time comes. On the back end it seems like that group will be taking over the proposed Cara Dune series of Republic Commandoes in some shape or form. We also know they are in some way aligned with Mando for season Four. All of this is part of the connecting threads of the larger web leading to the super team up Filoni movie ... at least as teased at Celebration. We will see how it pans out ....

If Marrok is a former Inquisitor, where tf was he in Rebels Seasons 3 and 4 ? Never did I expect to see Ryder Azati and Jai Kell in live action. Yet again Droid characters managed to carry some heavy emotion, the look that Huyang throws to Ahsoka when she's talking about how she left the order just carried such sadness. I love how they almost immediately addressed the force sensitivity question and in a very clever and amusing way. Much like with Obi-Wan in episode 3 it seems Sabine is a bit out of practice and I am all for that especially if it means we get to see a training montage similar to the 5th episode of tales of the Jedi. I have no complaints about the casting of Mary as Hera. It only took me 40 seconds to accept her and a large part of that was her interactions with Chopper. Who I must say it's always a good day when Chopper chooses violence when he wakes up in the morning

      Not saying you're wrong, but I see it differently. Remember that when Hera asks if Sabine is having a hard time wielding the Darksaber because "she doesn't have the Force," Kanan corrects her and tells her the Force resides in everyone. You just have to be open to it. I believe the shot in the trailers of Shin telling Sabine she has no power and Sabine using what looks like a Force Push is exactly what it seems, and in a moment of need/desperation, she will awaken her Force abilities. I could be totally wrong though!

    there is another thing that i wonder if Sabine might be struggling with. When she turned away from the empire her parents rejected her causing her to have to leave them. then she found a family with the ghost crew. then Kanan died, then Ezra was taken away. Hera and Zeb went on to do other things. but then presumably Ahsoka came back and She became her padawan only from Ahsoka to walk away from her. Now here we are on the anniversary of the day she lost Ezra and this poor girl must be feeling so down. You can hear it in what she tells Hera in the hospital. it had been year since she last saw ahsoka and the first thing she does goes sideways and when the first thing she asks Huyang is "was i part of the plan?" all that loss is obviously weighing on her.

    It's a reminder to the viewer that "Jedi" isn't just a character class for well-intentioned Force users. It's ALSO a philosophy, one that can be practiced by anyone with a good heart, supernatural abilities be damned. The only other character to really explore this angle in live action was Chirrut Imwe.

You could tell by the look on Shin's face that she was having the time of her life, it was like she had never fought someone with a lightsaber before and after years of effortlessly hacking through soldiers she was really savouring what it felt like to really duel someone!! That's my thought on why she hit Sabine with a non-fatal attack, she was frustrated at being interrupted and she wanted to finish the fight later but she had to let Sabine know "I win."
    But for me, the music was by far my favourite part of the episodes. It makes the whole show FEEL like Rebels, but as though Rebels has evolved into something new. I found myself listening to the score and imagining what the show would look like if it were an episode of Rebels. And just the few beats of Thrawn's theme sent chills up my spine. I never fooled myself into thinking he'd be showing up already, but you can absolutely feel his presence already. Yeah I really don't care for this dynamic so far, but hopefully they can sell it as it goes. I just really don't buy Ahsoka being this... difficult to work with. She had issues in the Clone Wars, but never had trouble connecting with all sorts of people. In fact I always thought of that as one of her strengths. Now she feels cold and out of touch, like Luminara to me. Gives me an icky feeling

    • @MSnell
      @MSnell Před 8 měsíci

      @@trombonegamer14 I had the same thought at first, but after re-watching Trials of the Darksaber it really shows us that Sabine is the difficult one. Hera has seen this exact same scenario before when Kanan had frustrations teaching Sabine, so it's easier for Hera to keep pushing her on Ahsoka. She knows how difficult Sabine can be but trusts them to work it out, just like it worked out for her and Kanan.
      As Alex and many have predicted, I think this show will be partially about Ahsoka's journey into becoming a Jedi again, and giving her a really difficult padawan that she struggles to connect with will be great parallel to her and Anakin's relationship.

    • @trombonegamer14
      @trombonegamer14 Před 8 měsíci

      @MSnell that's not really what I'm picking up myself. As Alex mentioned, Ahsoka did communicate some disappointment about her losing the dark Saber, which didn't feel fair to me, and more importantly felt really out of character for Ahsoka. The Ahsoka I know would only care about the person being safe.

    Interesting that Grogu is a Force-wielding Mandalorian, and now Sabine *might* be a Force-wielding Mandalorian too. No way to predict, but the potential for these two characters forging a new alliance between Mandalorians and the new Jedi is intriguing and full of potential.

      “Warmaster, we think too often in terms of dualism: Jedi or Sith, light or dark, right or wrong. But there are three sides to this blade, not two, opposed and similar at the same time. The third edge is the Mandalorian. All three sides care nothing for caste or species, only adherence to a code that unites. The Mandalorians remain the most formidable enemy of the Jedi: but the Sith are not always their allies. The Mandalorians even worshiped war itself, then simply turned their backs on their god.” - Vergere (Legends)

    I hope you do an Easter Egg video on these first few episodes or even on individual episodes. There were so many things in these 2 episodes that just brings you back to animation rebels. Sabine’s artwork and painted walls in the radio tower and in Ahsoka’s ship is just an example. I can’t believe I missed the knife and hair cutting reference to Kanan.
    Chopper. The murder sassy brat droid. Hilarious in his on screen debut, but I’m waiting for his droid chuckle in hopes he shocks or pushes some thing or someone off a ledge. Maybe even take down another ship via sabotage.

    The first two episodes were really great, especially in the non-verbal exchanges between the characters. Hera is pretty amazing in that regard : she always looks upon Sabine and Ahsoka with such love and sadness at the same time. She expresses so much, like when they are on their way to the shipyard's control center.

    Regarding the map trope in the movies, it was also done in Jedi Survivor with the hidden planet Tanalor and the heroes and villains all racing to locate it .
    Also those droids with the self destruct thing reminds me of the suicide bomb used by the Predator, it's a big explosion but the countdown is hilariously long enough to give the heroes enough plot armour to escape to safety. I can only imagine if IG-11's suicide bomb at the finale of Mando Season 1 took that long to explode...

    I jumped into Ahsoka having never watched any Star Wars animations. I enjoyed the first 2 episodes but felt I was only getting half the story. Thanks to your recap videos I've managed to get a better grasp on Ahsoka's character and the context behind the 2 episodes I've seen. Even Huyang's quip in the very first scene between them hit a lot deeper than before "that is the job of a Jedi Padawan learner, which I am not".

    Sabine is my favorite character in Rebels so I've been really looking forward to seeing her in Live Action. I really enjoyed watching the new show so far. And then that sense of deja vu when listening to the end credits hit me. The end credits have Sabine's theme throughout. So good.

    While I have many open questions (how did the map come to be? How are Thrawn and Morgan connected? What exactly happened b/w Ahsoka and Sabine in the 10 years since Ezra disappeared), my main question is… why is this such a covert and small-team mission, and why is the New Republic not involved? Thrawn is a huge threat to the NR, so why don’t Ahsoka, and especially Hera (a general in the NR) go to Mon Mothma, Leia, etc.? Also, Hera keeps referring to the mission as “yours” when talking to Ahsoka… why? Why doesn’t she fully join this mission, given her motherly-like relationship with Ezra?
