- Today I will take you guys around Krusevac, Serbia. Krusevac is only two hours south of Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia. In today's video we will be walking around the city center on the hunt for what is meant to be the best burek in Serbia! Burek is a traditional Serbian food and there are many different versions, as most countries in the Balkan region, specialize in making it their own way! After eating Burek we will head out to explore the Lazarica church, as well as the national museum of Krusevac. We will also visit a beautiful market while on this adventure! We got really lucky with weather today and I'm sure you'll enjoy this adventure!

very important for yogurt: shake well before use. It sounds like a joke but it really is. It helps to distribute the contents evenly, which tends to settle to the bottom of the glass due to the density.

A city from which a strong army marched out to meet the uprising ottoman Islamic forces, the biggest world power at that time, and knowingly sacrifice themselves to stop ottoman progress further into Europe. A city of Serbian Spartans. A city of heroes and bravery. And of course, good burek :D should definitely come back here in summer when all the constructions are finished, corona is done, and the city streets are bustling again.

For "Skroz Dobra" most pastries are defrosted and than baked and some of them are even imported, so that's the difference, in this local bakeries pastries are freshly made in the morning.

I really enjoyed watching this episode for many reasons (the Mickey Mouse burek shop, Itamar "stealing" the camera and becoming the vloger for a moment...), but mainly thanks to this discover of such a brilliant historical-cultural city of Krusevac. I mean, I knew before about the battle of Kosovo in the 14th century, but it's just that I didn't know about this city and what it have to offers. About 90% of the times when Serbia is discussed on the aspect of tourism, Belgrade is mainly what is being mentioned and just a few more more known spots, AND THAT'S IT.
So I'm super glad that you have shared your experience there Chris, Know I know that it's a must visit when I'll visit Serbia again. Waiting for the next vlog!

If you still have time for traveling, you should go and visit west side of Serbia. There is beautiful city Uzice full of history and also nearby is national park Tara and Zlatibor one of the most popular mountains in Serbia.
I will be visiting that area very soon! ❤️
You should visit Vrnjacka banja (the most visited spa in Serbia) and cities of that region like Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Cacak...
My hometown and the most beatiful city for me!
If you'll stay in Kruševac for couple of days, check Kopaonik mountain, Vrnjačka banja, Stopanja for pork and lamb roast and Kraljevo, very nice city.
Near Kraljevo, there is Žiča monastery, whose founders were Saint Sava and his brother Stefan the First Crowned and where all medieval Serbian kings from the lineage of Nemanjić were crowned.
Also from the monastery Zica, down the road called the Ibar highway, there is the monastery Studenica which you must see, as well as the nature around the monastery. In the Studenica monastery are the relics of the founder of the Nemanjić dynasty, Stefan Nemanja, the father of Saint Sava, Vukan and the first Serbian king Stefan the First-crowned. I'm mentioning Saint Sava, because you were in front of temple in Belgrade, named by him. While driving on the Ibar highway, there is the Maglič fortress where the series Ironclad 2 was filmed. On this road there is also monument dedicated to the Ibar heroes from WWI. And this area around the fortress Maglič is called the valley of lilacs (dolina jorgovana), which King Uroš I planted as a wedding gift to his future wife, french princess Jelena Anžujska.
So, you see, there is lot of history in that area. I'm suggesting to inform yourself through internet, before visiting any of this sights.
I'm so glad that you were in Krusevac cause it has very important history for Serbians. Also I live here and it's really strange to see someone talking that way about places where i go every day 😅.

And someone who has tried all kinds of burek, says that I ate the best in Belgrade and it was certainly 1 meter and more in diameter, you cut and messure as much as you want, it crunches mmm unforgettable for me
ahh.. in Serbia, we have Burek with cheese and Burek with minced meat.. Bosnians burek with cheese called "cheese pie" and are recognized only one Burek. Burek with minced meat. word burek has turkish origins and means exactly same "pita/pie" :) one of strange facts :)

I know that even if i don't visit a museum :) Ofc, we are learned that in history, in school books. In museum, there are also replica of the battle, but there are wasn't only 300 soldiers, but many many thousand, thousand and thousand, really massive battle, rivers of blood are made!

its a shame you went there during this time, before they began construction and before the pandemic, the city center was beautiful, my favorite popcorn place is also nearby, i would honestly recommend this city to any tourists visiting Serbia
and i almost forgot to say this, but its so weird seeing a foreigner in my hometown, you should definately come back when the construction is over if you get the chance!
