- Click here for the links to the markers in this vid: bit.ly/2OzrDPp - In a recent video I mentioned using an ice marker to help place players in the right starting position in a certain drill. The video sparked a few questions about which markers I like best. So I thought I’d do a quick video reviewing the ones I’ve used!

Good review have been using markers on the ice for years. Makes my players get their heads up during the drill.
Awesome - what's your "go-to" marker?
@@JeremyWeiss Just some water soluble markers from a local arts store. The tips are small and sometimes hard to use. Your suggestion is much better. I have taken my son to a local hockey camp and the instructor used spray paint.
@@CJTmedia I've seen that too. Works great, but doesn't fit in your pocket. :)
Just a heads up if you use spray paint you want a water based one the oil based spray paints eat through the ice. They also make spray chalk which works really well because if you mess up and get it on the boards you can wipe it off.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing, and the detail provided.
Thanks David!
@@JeremyWeiss I will confess. ...I'm using this for Ringette, not hockey.
Have you had any issues with the marker coming off and staining the goalies pads?
I've seen that happen yes, so if you're concerned about that don't use it. I've seen it with all markers. If you wait until the marker dries, it's not as bad.
I loved using markers for our skaters but our rink recently banned them. Our rink is in a mall and corporate office said it makes the ice look bad. 😕😩
unfortunate! are you at West Edmonton Mall?
Jeremy Weiss no, I’m in Houston.
I’m using a bingo punch 👍
czcams.com/video/l9cN8j6au2U/video.html Any idea what brand this marker is?
That's looking like the Glass Chalk to me (6:08) in this vid. I've had good results with this one, just make sure you get a dark color, not the neon green I showed in this video... It was weak.
Oil based markers on ice are not good.
