~Force vs Contain 1v1, 2v2, Net-Front Battle~
This is a great drill to work on a variety of 1v1 situations. It develops read and react skills for 1v1 and 2v2 situations within the defensive zone. It also provides opportunities to battle for positioning in front of the net.

If you want a fox 40 that has a deep tone get the FOX 40 PEARL
Good tip - if you're a ref, that's definitely the one you'd want. I tried reffing a game with the regular Fox 40 and it was terrible. Nobody could hear my whistle amid the game noise.
HI Jeremy, I'm attempting to locate a Quickstickz device for an archive I'm maintaining however I've been having trouble locating one. Would you still have your unit and would you be interested in selling?
Sorry man - I got rid of it because I couldn't find access to the software anywhere. Sad deal. It was a cool concept. Good luck!

Looks good on paper till its counteracted, flames number 1 unit is dying running this format, its a "rotating" umbrella but fuck me is it ever getting shut down. Big factor is the lack of one timers generated.... but they insist on running it over and over and over... if aint broke dont fix it, if it broke... well...
Most of the NHL is running more of a 1-3-1 style PP setup now. It still has many of the key elements of the old umbrella, but offers more variety for options. I'm finding that good PP setups depend on having the right players running them. If it's not working.... I agree... time to switch things up!
My defence worked on the outlet part of this drill in practice this week..they used it in the game the next day. Kids are 10 years old. Ontario
Legit!!!
If you do half ice, just make a line on either side. That’ll get played doing it both ways faster. When the player fishes one side go to the back of the line on the other end
To add, some of the screwdrivers that come with those kits are useless. They are tiny. I just went and bought a regular Philips from the hardware store to add to my kit.
Good point - The ones I've had in these kits are decent for basic repairs. But might not be enough if you've got something more complex (like a rusted or stripped screw)
Helps a lot thank you bbg
😮
Very confusing and unhelpful
Feel free to NOT use it then 😂
Could it also be implied that number 52 was trying to force nylander into a difficult angled shot knowing that he had defense help in front of the net incase he cut in front of him? Thanks for the great breakdowns.
Have you noticed if the marker ink permanently stains the kids' socks, jerseys, and goalie pads if they fall on the ink?
I haven’t paid attention to staining. Sorry!
I have a question, for the Left defense, instead of a Right handed player why not put lefty there?
If you’re setting up on the left side, you want a righty there so he/she can walk across the blue line on his/her forehand. That opens up more options…. Pass, shoot, or cut & drive. Make sense?
@@JeremyWeissyes, thanks
You still have to be faster to take the lane away. What youre showing doesnt work if they have shorter distance and more speed. Overall a good habit to increase the likelihood of controling the puck though.
What software are you using to draw these plays?
How dare you! 😊
Kane zone entry
Great drill but I put D and F on one side, and same with other but opposite and this avoids collisions.
Agree with a lot of the comments here. Your drills are great for my pee wee team. Simple breakdowns with options to build. Thanks!
Thanks Dave! Good luck to your team!
Thanks my AAA coach showed me this
Awesome!
Has to happen lightening quick, you suck that first defender out, how long is he going to stay out of position? while the RH guy goes charging toward the front, guy down low curls up to follow his pass to the point, that first guy still standing there "hanging out to dry"? as it were???
I ran this as a player at pretty high levels. It works well, but you definitely need the right players. The sequence of options is fantastic if the players have the ability to pull it off. Yes, the players have to be quick, both physically and mentally. Most of the guys I ran this with in juniors ended up with D1 scholarships and/or some NHL time. So it was a pretty capable group.
I use bingo dobbers. They’re cheap

After being a customer and subscriber for years while i was actively coaching my kids I am geeking out over this review, Thanks Coach!!
What size is this? I have an eight foot ceiling in the basement so I guess I should go with the 7 foot tall one?
How well does it get scrapped up by the zamboni? Some rinks don't always allow painting the ice.
It disappears completely for me. Not sure is zam settings have anything to do with it… like how deep they scrape?
I work in new product development so I'm always interested in innovative things. This is really cool. I can see picking up a few of these for sure. Someone just innovated on the cone!
Amazing, right? It has been fun to watch Jeff continue to develop the product line, with each new piece integrating with what has been developed before it.
You went from 2 years ago to 2 days ago. Hope all is well
Bro... it's been a hectic two years! 😂But things are good. Hope you're doing well too!
I'm still confused after being in hockey for over 40 years the weird anti-wheel sentiment people have. My son is tiny, and even small bags dwarfed him when he was little. The Grit bags sit vertical in the locker room and save a ton of space, great for those tiny locker rooms. As for coaching, I like the PR backpack. Cones and pucks are at the rink, so never have to worry about those, but I can put about 12 pucks in the front sleeves if my son and I are going to stick time.
All your reasons are valid... I'm just old school on that, I guess 😂. Ya, if you have cones and pucks at the rink, that saves a ton of space. Do you use a whiteboard? I've got a PR backpack, but I can't fit my whiteboard in it.
@@JeremyWeiss I carry a clipboard sized whiteboard, it fits in a slot inside that is kind of like a laptop sleeve on regular backpacks. I just carry my bigger board when I bring it. Other things I have in there are extra laces, helmet parts and screwdrivers, scissors, and markers.
@@BenBreeg1138 Gotcha!! That works then!
I'm also confused by the wheely bag hate. If we want more kids to play hockey then we need more first-time hockey parents and we need to make it as easy as possible for new players to get into the sport. U6 and U8 kids have a real hard time carrying a bag but they can all roll one. A few kids on my team have wheely bags, it works. Sure it's not old school hockey but they're U8 players, Crosby is an old-time guy to them!
@@bradfa My son just got a regular Pacific Rink bag now that his Grit bag zipper bit it. He is an 81 lb 12 year old. He carries it himself but it is nuts watching him, he could fit inside. But eventually he will grow. The wheeled bag was perfect for many years.
Good to see you again Jeremy.
Thanks!! It’s been a busy couple of seasons 😂🥴
Where did you go to school
Are the puck bouncing around a lot? I'm wondering if you had to put something on the left, and right of it to protect your walls there? I'm thinking of installing this in my garage but my walls are white so I can't have bouncing pucks go there. From looking at you go here, they don't seem to bounce a lot but I'm curious about what you have to say on that.
No - the pucks barely bounce at all. There's no ricochet. I can't make any promises for your situation. But for me, as long as I'm shooting straight on, the pucks that don't go in drop right at the base of the tarp.
@@JeremyWeiss Sounds good, thank you so much! Looking forward to giving it a try!
czcams.com/video/l9cN8j6au2U/video.html Any idea what brand this marker is?
That's looking like the Glass Chalk to me (6:08) in this vid. I've had good results with this one, just make sure you get a dark color, not the neon green I showed in this video... It was weak.
Tried to buy it as an impulse buy.. website has no price ,and email for a quote ... nope goodbye I'll just buy a canvas one
Ya… I don’t think they carry it anymore at HockeyShot. I don’t have any control over their product line 🤷🏼♂️
Can I use that for a softball
I didn't even know the snipe existed and after shattering a few original biscuits I checked online and bought a couple snipes and they're a dream for just hitting the local paved (non-tile) roller rink.
It turns hockey into baseball. BORING hockey!
Do you have information about the floor? Where can I buy it
Great Job! Excellent breakdown of well executed d_zone coverage. This will be in my next video session with the squad.
Glad it was helpful!

What a great breakdown for any level of hockey.

I am from Sweden and we used to do a similar drill. We would start at the blue lines but at the board. We would shoot on the goal that was on the same side we started. The older we got the more passes. At the end it was 7 passes.
