- Pasadena City College Lancer Concert Band 2016 performing Crescent Moon Dance from Sound! Euphonium 響け！ユフォーニアム as part of our 2016 Pops Concert program.
We did our best; DEFINITELY could've been better but we didn't have as many rehearsals as we would've liked to have due to starting our practice on this piece pretty late in the semester.
Regardless, the piece was extremely fun to play and now I have definitely cemented my spot as PCC band's resident weeb :^)

To all those saying that the anime version sounded better because it was performed by professionals: it actually wasn't! The band you hear in the soundtrack is made up entirely of FRESHMEN from one of Japan's colleges. It's sad that they don't get enough recognition! They are a talented bunch of kids.
That being said, this band did well too with what they had to work with :)

Yk that a Japanese high school full of freshman’s can literally play as good as a college player. We’re nothing Compared to them in North America

日本のアニメの劇中歌が海外で演奏されてることがそもそも喜ばしい事だと思います。
外で堂々と演奏をしている時点でとても素晴らしい事だと思います。
ここぞとばかりに誹謗中傷を行なっている日本人の方は恥を知った方がいい。
いや逆に考えよう、日本の吹奏楽レベルが高すぎるだけで海外では普通だよ。
演奏の事をとやかく言う前に
日本のアニメの中で使われた楽曲が
海を超えて世界の人に届いてるって事が純粋にスゴいと思う
音楽は言葉と違い世界共通なんだと改めて感じる

確かに聴いてて酷いなと思うところはありましたが音楽はただ上手く演奏すれば言い訳じゃないと思いますよ。
好きな曲を楽しんで演奏することも音楽の一つだと僕は思います。
それに彼らは曲が公開されて間もない頃に演奏されているのでこうなるのもしょうがないと、、、
まあ意見は人それぞれだから僕がどうこう言うのもあれですがちょっと厳しすぎるんじゃないかと。
だいぶ前の動画にコメントした僕も僕ですけどね。

日本の吹奏楽レベルが高すぎるだけで海外ではプロ以外はわりとこんなもん。まあ吹奏楽のプロ団体がある国なんて限られてるけど。
海外のバンドで一番早く演奏し、アップしてたのは確かここだったんじゃないかな？と思います。
アニメで曲が放送されてからあまり経ってない頃に確か、アップされてたような…？

ここがもう一度猛練習したら、どんな演奏できるんでしょう？ 再アップして欲しいですね。

I purchased the score online. It was available as a limited promotional item for in-store purchase of the Hibike Euphonium blu-ray. I then copies the score to individual parts via Finale, doing it all by hand.

if it's the transcription I'm thinking of, then that's a fanmade one and isn't official.

なんでここまで批判されてんのw確かに少し正直下手なところがあるかも知れないけど別にアニメみたいにコンクールしてるわけじゃないし実際日本の吹部のレベルがかなり高いだけでこれぐらいでも楽しめたら全然いいなって思ったけどな～ここでは日本のアニメで海外に「三日月の舞」という曲が伝わっているということに目を向けるべきじゃない？もちろん演奏に目を向けるのもいいとは思うけどさ

上手とは言えないが日本のアニメの劇中曲を公開間もない時期にアメリカの大学（カレッジなので短大）が演奏していることに驚きます。響けユーフォニアムの出来が良かったにしろ恐るべし日本アニメ。

Actually, it was performed by a freshman wind ensemble from a Japanese University! :) Everyone in the ensemble you hear in the anime is a college freshman, 19-20 years old
The anime version was performed by students to sell how genuine it sounded. It too, wasn't perfect.
