    Bought one after watching this video . Tried it out today and found it to be very nice . Never used an airbrush with a trigger before so it took a minute to get used to . I find that using my middle finger to control the trigger and laying my index finger alongside the airbrush was most comfortable and very controllable .

    Your killing me Robert ! I'm saving up to get a Gaahleri Swallowtail and you show us these. They do look beautiful (I kinda like the Walnut handle but not the Mac Valve) and apparently spray really well but I'll keep saving. Maybe I'll look into them as a backup. Thanks for a great video.

    Don't fret over the Bronco kit not having an engine. On the 1:1 scale new Bronco's when you open the hood you can't see the engine anyway!

  • @REKlaus

    Some of the Badger airbrushes use a similar nozzle setup.
    I find it more comfortable to place my index finger along the side of the airbrush pointing at what I'm painting and use my second finger to pull the trigger with this style airbrush.
    Thank you for sharing the info on this airbrush.

    These brushes looked like they performed very well, however, I have big hands myself and those handles seem to be too small. Would be uncomfortable for me to use. Hope one day they would make these in a dual-action top lever button type.

      I just got a swallowtail and am finding it’s not good for large hands, either. I’ll keep trying, but that piece of plastic sticking out is exactly where my little finger needs to go.

    So the airbrush with the Mac valve, it still has the air adjusting knob on the rear as well? Its just 2 ways go adjust the air coming out?

    • @treborrrrr
      @treborrrrr Před 12 dny +2

      The adjustment at the rear doesn't adjust the amount of air. It acts as a backstop for the needle so that you can set a limit to how far back you can pull the trigger. This limits the amount of paint that comes out (needle further back = bigger opening at the front = more paint coming out). It can sometimes be useful as a bit of a safety if you're painting something delicate and don't want to risk accidentally pulling back on the trigger too far and drowning the model in paint.

    what is the difference between the MAC and standard versions?

    • @bobrivett7645
      @bobrivett7645 Před 12 dny +2

      With the Mac valve you can tweak the air flow through the air brush nozzle without touching the compressor air regulator. Helps when painting the same color but for different effects, like he demonstrated light shadow effect, by tweaking the Mac valve. I have a cheap one off of Amazon, still learning/experimenting with it.

  • @bobrivett7645
    @bobrivett7645 Před 12 dny

    They wood handles, both of them are pretty. But 90% if my paint is solvent based, and i'm a clutz, so it take me long to ruin the finish. But for $50 who cares, its all about how they perform.

  • @InfernusdomniAZ
    @InfernusdomniAZ Před 12 dny +1

    I really don't understand the small paint cups. Its not like you can't just put a small amount of paint in a large cup and if you want alot of paint you can do that too. The small cup just adds more cost for little utility imo.

    • @treborrrrr
      @treborrrrr Před 12 dny +1

      Plus in a bigger cup you can easily wrap some paper around your finger and get your finger in there to clean it easily. The only reason I can see for it is if you are having a hard time seeing past a bigger cup while doing close up work or something.

    • @bobrivett7645
      @bobrivett7645 Před 12 dny

      @treborrrrr
      I believe that's exactly what the smaller cups are all about, the large cups can block your line of sight view, smaller cups much less so. But your right cleaning them as well
