In Aus we don't get a rear diff lock (other than GR Sport) and centre console fridge is from Sahara up. Two features I would love on the base or near base model. You could fit an aftermarket rear camera on yours (may take some time but will become available at some stage) and then you have a very nice package. Thanks for the vid, there's not many on y300's from owners so appreciated. Cheers. p.s. I think there is a market for an internal drop down shelf/tailgate/table for the 300???
Thanks Lucas, appreciate the comment and update of the Aus spec. We do miss the drop down tailgate from the 200 series, in my opinion the actual size of the 300’s rear doors is the real problem, what made the 200 series so great was the rear door being divided into two shorter openings. If there is some aftermarket drop down tailgate option it might be quite an interesting accessory.
Unfortunately 11.8 is the best as the rest of my driving has been mixed urban and freeway. Averaging around 13. But great amount of torque for those fuel figures.
Hello, just wondering when you check your engine oil level with the dip stick, is the engine oil always black and slightly on the thicker end? As I have the same 3.3l diesel 300 series.
Where you rest your knee is a terrible design. Also no reversing camera is a shocker. Otherwise a nice car. I'm waiting for mine to arrive in Australia :-)
Thanks for this review!
Comparesdto the million others I have seen, this is the best owner/driver perspective so far!
Glad you liked it! Thank you.
Congrats. many miles of safe cruising. good honest review.
Nice to hear a South African owner perspective...thank you Sir
GX in Australia has 17 inch rims.
You chose the best spec 300 series🎉

@@ren4x401 Fair enough re new tailgate length when opened. Hope you enjoy the vehicle for many years to come. Cheers.
Thanks for the great review! With more time behind the wheel, have you noticed any change in the fuel economy? Or is 11.8 l/100 the best you’ll get?

Electronic tail gate is also upgradeable.
Lack of a split tailgate option is a serious oversight by Toyota. At least offer it!
Reverse camera is installable upgradeable extra
So nice, but might as well be made out of Unobtanium for US customers.
