Always a good idea to assemble hydraulic stuff in the dirt

Getting as much dirt as possible in it is a great idea, the grit will polish the rams to a mirror shine.

Somehow during the night we sorted out the lifting cylinder of a 45 ton reach stacker (container loader) in exactly the same way and in the same conditions. But there it was necessary that at any cost it would work by morning. The machine worked for almost 3.5 months without leaks ... and another 2 months with a small leak. But our hydraulic fluid was clean. And so, yes, the heart bleeds. Collected and wept, collected and wept.

Reading the comments and makes one realize how far apart people's mentality is. These mechanics are not doing this job for views the person recording is just showing the world how you manage when you have no way to get parts but have skills to get things done. Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, N. Korea, Syria, Pakistan, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Vietnam etc countries that have restrictions whether trade or financial do know how to get a job done and it's not limited to mechanic work I'm talking about everyday life skills as well. The west has blocked Russia for invading Ukraine yet Russia is moving forward! Ingenuity never stops. Saying is: Necessity is the mother of invention! Industrialized countries have already mastered the rest of the world is following then the Industrialized world looks back and says you guys are still in backwards forgetting they went through the same in their past! For humans to move forward everyone has to contribute or help instead of looking down at the struggling ones! Elon Musk trying to colonize Mars can't even colonize Moon which is only 238,855 Miles or 384,400 Kms away. We humans don't get along on earth. We have no idea what's in the depths of oceans and peaks of mountains or what's in Antarctica other than just damn cold place! 🤔
