Zero you gotta do a tournament without top or high tiers, then it’ll be much more interesting and less try hard than tournaments where 70% of the participants are joker or pythra. Or just have a tournament without DLC. I think it’ll be cool to see more low and mid tiers

Salem has the best neutral and TNT usage out of any Steve. Imagine if he was actually camping in these friendlies.

@@aegishdaego As far as I'm concerned, his ban is race related. It doesn't even make any sense, so many people of color are banned right now for dubious reasons, many with no evidence to substantiate them. Meanwhile people like Nairo and others have allegations thrown at them and these TOs defend them to their dying breath.
So his ban will last for so long as these TOs make it so.
I mean he still camps, just instead of building walls he puts down TNT.

I really like how Salem seems to favor gold over diamond for the better frame data over the extra power, it works better with the more old school fundamental play style that he uses

He’s actually the best Steve, I remember before he got banned he was cooking very hard with that character, still haven’t seen acola do half the things Salem was doing

I knew Steve was gonna break this game day 1 of the character when i pissed off my entire friend group just mashing and figuring shit out.
Salem was playing Steve but ZeRo was playing "You Died. Respawn."

Best video I've seen from you in a while I pretty much learned Steve watching Salem and M2K videos really cool to see how much he has evolved playing Steve since then.
When Steve beat Mario’s FS, I think it was a hitbox extension plus he had diamond. If I remember correctly, which ever smash attack does more damage takes priority.
It's not just more damage, the difference has got to be 9% or more. If the difference is less than 9% it'll clank. Steve's diamond fsmash is strong but it's not 9% stronger than Mario's. All that happened in that interaction was that Mario extended his hurtbox forward, and Steve's disjointed sword did the rest.

I can feel your frustration with steve bro!You have to read his side-b or dair and punish him,exploit his recovery when off stage and stay away from diamond baits they will kill you 70% of the time!.I main peach so usually i use my patience against him and i have a good results with him to be honest!Great games with Salem ! I agree that the fundamentals show more in Salem's Steve than in most, but the thing about Steve is that his gimmicks are actually very good, so Salem's Steve would be better if he did use them more.
His TNT usage was very good, but it does use a lot of resources, and ZeRo wasn't taking advantage of that.
What's there to take adv of..the fact he can't use tnt again? That's 90% of Steve's. Salem just has that extra layer of fortitude. If acola used tnt like this he wouldn't get cornered so much
The key to beating Steve or kaz is to play chess not checkers because they win 9 out of the 10 interactions and you can lose a game off 1 interaction so basically that famous clip of zero getting killed by bayo in smash 4 the way he played that game is how he has to play Steve and kazuya

Whenever I play against Steve, I use Little Mac. I know I have a bad recovery, but have you seen his tilts? What Steve players like to do is put up a wall and mine. Your tilts as Mac are safe. Your down tilt is pretty fast and good at range so you don't have to get hit by a fsmash from behind the wall. Also, if you think the Steve will fsmash, up tilt instead to clash and it leaves Steve in stun for a good amount of time for a simple, yet strong punish. My personal favorite thing to do against minecart or when Steve does the down smash on tnt is to just challenge it with upward fsmash. Super armor, baby! If they have a single block in front of them, you can catch them with a side b surprise attack. It sucks that it'll be Trade Blows: The Game, but you'll gain more damage output in your favor. My Ken and Roy suck against Steve, sadly :(

One last thing saw the spot dodge cancel to from Salem reading your grab a lot Salem is an amazing player it's interesting to watch. I have not seen the ZeRo Diddy pop gun cancels you gotta read his spot dodge jab multi hits when he does that you could delay your attack but that's harder that's how you beat it you can't run up grab he is gonna read it and it's easy to react to he doesn't even have to read it just react you could spot dodge cancel reading dash attack it beats that to lol
I like how he doesn't have a rolling habit like the #1 Steve. He just plays smarter.

Use Yoshi, his second jump comes in handy against Steve, he’s pretty quick, has a command grab, has eggs, fast in the air, and let’s not forget… he’s a chunky boiiii 🙌🏽 (Deceptively hard to kill)
Little mac main here, i dont think it was a good idea to jump everytime to ledge. 😆 Also you can still mash Side B to ledge and you will still make it far and its safer since its faster just make sure you hold towards the stage those. Mashing Side B can also be a good brust opiton on the ground since it can has a lot of invincibility to beat a lot of moves as well.

Partially unrelated, but I feel like absolutely hardcore characters like Steve and maybe even Hero can still be in tournaments, but in their own little zone. Like, there's the regular tournaments, and then there could be a steve-only tournament or a hero-only tournament.
If only hero was banworthy like Steve

Block wall + TNT is SO BROKEN and if you mess up approaching one time you eat an up tilt that leads to like 50% dmg or stray minecart or diamond f smash at 50 and you may just die
