    Great video! Regarding the "skin condition" of your keys: i had the same problem after a few years on my DT and found out, that you can actually order a replacement set of keys through Elektrons support. Just drop them a message, explaining the situation and they will help you sort it out. My assumption is, that its a combination of sweat and UV light / sun, that led to the degradation on my DT.

     @Tony Tyson Great demonstration !!! Same happen with my octatrack and analog four buttons. Pretty disappointing from @elektron they didn't put much more durable buttons considering the price of the machine.

      Agreed! The replacement kit isn’t expensive but if I replace the buttons now, I will have the same problem again in a year or two.

    Tony your videos are great! Have ever played with the model cycles? I am currently looking at the lxr-o2 or cycles/digitone for raw/dark/hypnotic stuff and wondered if you had any experience with the cycles and your thoughts on lxr vs digitone since you have great videos on both?

      I’ve never used Model:Cycles but I hear good things about it. Definitely looks more immediate than the Digitone while Digitone is deeper. Unfortunately in my experience the only way to find out if a piece of gear works for you is to spend time with it.. you could buy one and sell it again if you don’t like it or try to borrow one. The buying-then-selling thing may seem like a waste, but you could consider the loss you make to be the price of learning that the machine isn’t for you.

    I wonder if the button degradation has to do with the chemical makeup of your skin. Everyone's different and this might be why it's affecting some but not all. I have both a DT and DN and have not had any kind of wear like this. Does your computer keyboard exhibit similar wearing of the keys?

    • @Tony_Tyson
      @Tony_Tyson  Před rokem

      It could be due to my skin but more likely the warm climate that I live in. I have no such issues with keyboards etc. Either way, IMO it’s unacceptable

    its obvious that hardware instruments are better suited for techno because of the jamming factor. they are kinda made in that thing in mind. so, for me it would be more interseting to see how you use software to make jams and limit yourself. and there are already ton of hardware jams on youtube. just to answer your question. thanks for the videos, they are inspiring!

      Thank you for your feedback! I have ideas for jams with software instruments in the pipeline..

      @@Tony_Tyson I just got Tracktion waveform free version. I think you should do some jams on it because i noticed it is designed for fast sequencing. I also made techno in VCV rack only with Macro Oscillator. check it out :)

    New buttons are pretty cheap to get from Elektron, will make it feel like new.

    • @Tony_Tyson

      Yeah but it’s kind of ridiculous that they wear so fast; this started happening within a year after I bought the unit new. Same thing with my Digitakt and Analog Four MkII.
