John 15: 1

God's spirit was in Jesus they were merged as one, hence I and my Father are one. The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit. Emanuel "God with Us"
@@pthiannun07 Jesus is referring to the works his Father is doing through him. He mentions this first to the Jews who wanted to stone him in Chapter 10 of John, 10:37-38. It's by evidence of the works that we know the Father is in him, that is how to see his Father: healing of the sick/crippled/deaf/blind etc, raising of the dead, multiplying of bread, walking on water, stopping storms and so forth. Seeing that power at work is to see his Father.
"If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” - Jesus, John 10:37-38
He again mentions this to Philip, in the verse you reference. Philip misunderstands and says "show us the Father", but Jesus responds to him saying John 14:10-11, basically the same thing he told the Jews who wanted to stone him:
"Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the work, believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake." - Jesus, John 14:10-11
This is important to understand, because right after saying this to Philip, Jesus defines what a "believer" is: that they will do the same works if not greater than he, because he is going to the Father, John 14:12-13
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father. And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." - Jesus, John 14:12-13
So those who believe in Jesus will have the power of his Father within them, doing similar if not greater works - and if we keep his command and ask in his name(his name meaning to save from sins) we will then obtain the spirit of truth, which is required to worship his Father at all, indicated in John 4:23-24.
"If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH(required to worship God, John 4:23-24); whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not(works, they do not see his Father's power), neither knows him: But you know him; for he dwells in you, and shall be in you" - Jesus, John 14:14-17
And to confirm that Jesus is not referring to himself as God when he says if you've seen him, you've seen the Father, Jesus said the following about NOT seeing God his Father:
"And the Father himself, which has sent me, has born witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape." - Jesus, John 5:37
"Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is of God(John 8:38), he has seen the Father." - Jesus, John 6:46
(John 8:38 "I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father." - Jesus, John 8:38)
((And to take it a step further, Jesus mentions experiencing existing before the world was finished in the presence of his Father in John 17:4-5))
I hope this helps and isn't that much to read, it's really a lot more compact than it appears. Knowing all of these things brings the true meaning to how the holy spirit/comforter functions, but also brings full clarity to John 10:30 where Jesus said him and his Father (two) are one (unity of two), or greek word "heis" which may indicate a unity of two.
Jesus in John 10:30 foreshadows the Father doing the works within him. The Jews picked up stones to throw at him when he said they were one because they misunderstood thinking he was trying to make himself God(a mistake people commit to this day, thinking he is God or trying to make himself God), but Jesus instead references Psalm 82:6 and corrects them, reiterating soon after "I am God's son" to them, in John 10:36, which of course flows into John 10:37-38 where he refers to the works as evidence of his Father even if they for some reason do not believe him, the son.

When the American Standard Version was produced in 1811 one thing that stood out was the restoration of the name Jehovah in 6828 places in the Old Testament. This Bible received a lot of criticism for doing this. So how did the committee address this matter? They later came out with a "New" translation which was essentially the same Bible but they removed the name Jehovah from the 6828 places where it occurred in the original version. All the opponents of Jehovah were satisfied with the change.

It's amazing that Christians will quote from the book of John left and right but will not quote from Matthew, Luke and Mark. That's how bias most Christians are.
Its because yes those books are written accurately yet those authors all had a less revelation of who Jesus really was. remember when Jesus asked them who do you say that I am? they all were different saying what others thought but Peter was (close but no cigar), Jesus pointed that it was by divine power and not by men guessing. The entire new testiment gives clues to the Mystery of Jesus, there is even a book called REVELATION that tells us who the Alpha Omega is in the last chapter, Jesus said I AM.

We know the father though the son. That's why he's so important. He's our king and Messiah. He is the perfect reflection of Jehovah. So we have to believe in him and obey. Love one another and spread the good news of Jesus kingdom. 🥰
To Tom Sawyer, why reject the Living God existing in Father, Son and Spirit. This life is too short to forfeit salvation by denying the Son and Spirit, for in that you deny the Father also and His Plan for our Salvation. Jesus and His Spirit are manifestations of the One God to us.

@@Koreakorea77777 Well Nick, people didn't understand Jesus either when he told them that he was the bread of life. They deserted him and were more "lost" for doing so. I didn't understand the doctrine of the trinity either for quite some time, but I perservered with my own studies and now I realize that it fits perfectly with what scripture teaches us. I cannot say the same for unitarianism. It breaks scripture.

Every time I did a hobby of mine, which is swimming, I always tested my luck whether I would be able to walk on water but never had it coming. Verses 1 and 2 of Hebrews 1 seem to make the point best .

This has to be the most confusing issue in scripture and my church is on the side that believes Jesus IS God .. ..I've told them I need them to account for the verses that indicate Jesus is NOT God and all they say is it's one of God's mysteries ...I've seen charels Stanley and John MacArthur also are on the side of Jesus is God Paul Washer is on the side of him NOT being God and I've yet to find a video that can explain their view while explaining the opposing view ..meaning neither can give account for the other scriptures so for me personally I simply cannot say either way I've prayed about it and asked God countless times and I can only conclude that God doesn't want us to know otherwise there would be NO scriptures that seem to conflict can anyone explain both sides ?
Typical answer that it's a mystery. It's a mystery because it's false teaching. They say it's impossible to understand the trinity, yet go on endlessly explaining it. God is not a God of confusion, and wants us to understand who He is, which is why He gave us His word. You need to dig for the answers though as you would for gold. Do you need examples such as, James 1:13 saying God cannot be tempted by evil, but Jesus was tempted in all points as we are Hebrews 4:15? How about John 14:9 Jesus says, He who has seen Me has seen the Father. Trinitarians believe that somehow makes Jesus God. 1John 4:12 says No one has ever seen God. Another one they like to use is John 10:30, Jesus says I and my Father are one. Many will say let the bible interpret the bible, but do they do it? Not when they want to back up their false teaching. John 17:11, 20 speaks of how Jesus prayed that the apostles, and finally all believers would be one just as He and the Father are one. That we would be one in Him and in the Father. Jesus wasn't saying they are one God. He was saying they are one in character and purpose just as we are to be one with the body of believers and with God and His Son. There are many other verses that show Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah, a Servant of God who came to do God's will. In other words, subservient. In John 14:28 Jesus Himself said "My Father is greater than I." Doesn't appear co-equal to me. Read Hebrews chapter one. Everything Jesus has and is was given to Him by the Father. His glory, His name, His status. Keep in mind when you read it, does the Father need to be given or receive anything from anyone? How did Jesus in Hebrews 1:4 become better than the angels? Wouldn't he have already been better than the angels if He were God? Why is He reflecting God's glory? Wouldn't He have His own? And so on. Hope this helps.

Well, the Bible teaches us that only the father most high knows when the last day shall be. It says not Jesus nor the angels will know when that day shall be. So I can't see where Jesus is God. Just like I can't see that when you die you go to heaven or hell. Especially when the Bible teaches that none of that happens until your resurrected. So.... If the Trinity were true for all of you Trinity believers out there... Then Jesus, the father most high and the holy Spirit would all know when the last day shall be for mankind. But yet the Bible tells us only one knows, and that's the father most high. The Bible tells us that Jesus is our King, not God, he is the son of the father. I mean, the Bible literally tells us to pray to the father most high and ask Jesus to deliver our message. I can't understand how that's been confused over the years.

For instance nobody was there when Jesus prayed to the Father in the garden , they were all asleep but we believed the made up grieving prayer about not taking this cup. Jesus never said that. Of course, Jesus is not God. How anyone ever got this idea I will never know. Quite apart from Jesus himself being quite clear that he wasn't God, why would he pray to God as "Father" if he himself was God? Would he pray to himself? YHWH texts are used in for Christ in the NT. In fact most uses of the word "kurios" as a substitute for YHWH are about Christ the son not the father. The Angel is prophesied to suffer alongside the people of God one day ( Isa 63). Christ is clearly the Angel that is named YHWH in the text of the OT and NT. Christ is YHWH in the OT and the NT.

You might want to study the biblical errors in the rules for translating Greek to English. The Holy Spirit, itself, is not a person, Jesus, Himself, is a person. Christ's Spirit is not s person, neither is Almighty God's Spirit a separate person.

Discussing the Trinity with Christians who are convinced of it and don't want to listen is an exercise in futility. Because a lot of what people believe is not based on logic per se but emotion. So logical arguments just won't work. They have "eyes" that see not and "ears" that hear not. When you are speaking about God and spirituality this goes double. People are convinced that their moral goodness is attached to this belief system. So to give it up, to them, is like turning their back on what makes them good and moral people.

Where did the Trinity come from? Pagan origins beginning with Nimrod, Semaramis, and Tammuz. Look also at John 17:21-23. Jesus said the Father and I are one and he prayed that we would be one with them. If that interpretation is saying that Jesus is also God yet God is one then he is telling me that WE also are all going to join the two members of the Godhead and with the alleged third member Holy Spirit and keep adding everybody who gets saved to a Godhead and God will still be one. It's illogical. Rev 3:14, Collossians 1:15, Proverbs 8:22.
'Follow the way' could benefit from realising that maybe the most Important complete MSS of the Greek NT, the SINIATIC, at 2 Petet 1:1 reads " (The) Righteousness of our LORD and Saviour" ( Kurious & NOT Theos). @Common man Read your comment again. It's absurd. Remember Matthew 18:3. A child who wasn't influenced by anyone could NEVER read John 1:1 and say "that's Jesus! That's what "the Word" means.
