Peanut Butter Brownie Bars

  • Ingredients
    Brownie
    1 box of Ghirardelli Carmel Walnut Turtle Premium Brownie Mix
    1/4 cup water
    1/2 teaspoon of instant coffee
    1/3 cup of melted butter
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Parchment Paper
    Peanut Butter topping
    1/4 cup creamy peanut butter (I use Jiffy)
    1/4 cup room temperature butter
    1/2 cup of powdered sugar
    2oz of nut topping
    Chocolate Crunch
    10oz Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate melting wafers
    1/2 Rice Krispies Cereal
    Sea Salt (for the top of the dessert, see video)
    1 tablespoon melted peanut butter (for topping)
    Caramel (from the brownie mix for topping)
    Instructions
    For the Brownie
    1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Prepare your 8 x 8” baking pan by spraying it with Pam baking spray, and line the tray with parchment paper. Once parchment paper is lined in your pan, spray with Pam baking spray again. 
    2. Place 1/4 cup water in your mixing bowl and add the instant coffee to the water, mix it up until it is combined.  Next, add your 1/4 cup of butter and your egg and make sure it is combined. Then add your brownie mix and your vanilla extract and mix until everything is thoroughly combine.
    3. Scooby brownie mix and see you 8 x 8 baking pan and spread the mix evenly throughout the pain from corner to corner. Next bake according to the box instructions once your brownies finish baking place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes preferably 1 hr. so it can completely chill.
    Peanut butter topping
    4. Add 1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter and your 1/4 cup a room temperature butter to a mixing bowl and cream until it is thoroughly come behind. Next add your powdered sugar and mix until completely combined. Add your peanut butter topping to your chilled brownie and be sure to spread the peanut butter over the entire brownie. Next add on your nuts, and place your brownie back in the refrigerator for another 45 minutes to an hour, preferably 1hr.  This will ensure that everything is solidified.
    Chocolate Crunch
    5. Follow the instructions from your chocolate wafer, packaging and melt the entire 10 ounces of the chocolate from the container. Once your chocolate is thoroughly melted, add 1/2 cup of your rice crispy cereal stir quickly to make sure the chocolate doesn’t solidify . Next pour the mixture on top of the peanut butter layer and spread to cover the peanut butter layer. Next, there’s some sea salt on top of the dessert. Melt about a tablespoon of peanut butter in the microwave and sprinkle on top of the dessert (see video). Use the leftover caramel from the brownie mix. It’s worth it on top of your dessert. Play the brownie back in the refrigerator for at least 1 hr to ensure the dessert has completely solidify before you cut it. Once the dessert is completely chilled you may cut and serve it.
