  • So what if other people have already posted the full episode of this? This bonus round victory was great!

    That’s the strangest way of hitting 21 for any couple playing GAMBIT. But… on the positive side… they won that car; the most important prize they really wanted. Kenneth A Huang 8/14/2022.

    I remember watching this when it was originally aired around 1974. The womans reaction when 21 came up was priceless. Without a doubt one of the most unforgettable moments in game show history.

    Three aces, a deuce and a six equals an unbelievable extremely rare twenty one!!

    I think everybody forgot that a six in the last draw would give them 21.

    One of my favorite game shows growing up...still brings back memories when watching these videos. Thanks for the memories.....

    I don't think they're missing at all. Gambit aired in the late 70s in repeats, and a knowledgeable source states that the tapes more than likely are still in existence with the rest of the Heatter-Quigley products.

      I hope so. I find a lot of these Merrill Heatter shows very enjoyable. This along with its Las Vegas counterpart, Hollywood Squares, High Rollers (with both Wink Martindale and Alex Trebek), To Say The Least, Battlestars and All Star Blitz.

    Unbelievable. a soft 5/15. Thn add the 6 for a 21. How about that!!

    i'll tell u, i'm surprised they didn't get excited the moment they saw the 6, (and i mean at that moment, (because you'd think they would've realized that they had 21 when they looked at it. (and i don't mean when the board started flashing "21")

    • @63utuber
      @63utuber Před 3 lety +1

      The audience saw the 6 first and didn't "get" it. I think people were focused on the "5" displayed without realizing that the hand was a soft 15.

    that the LOOONG way to 21

    • @witherblaze
      @witherblaze Před 7 lety +5

      The longest way would be 4 aces, 4 two's, and 3 threes.

    • @63utuber
      @63utuber Před 3 lety

      @@witherblaze Longest, but way too dangerous - it's a hard 12 if four deuces were dealt after four aces. The dream deal for this game would be four aces, two deuces, and a trey, which gets you to 21 without a chance of going bust.

    Probably the biggest bonus win on that format. I'm counting $8,500 plus the car -- probably $13-15 thousand. In 1974.

    • @DIYDaveOK
      @DIYDaveOK Před 3 lety

      There's no way a 1974 Opel cost $14,000. Maybe half that. Cars in excess of $10k given away on game shows back in the 70's were almost exclusively Cadillac or, rarely, Lincoln's.
