Still using my Pro 10 with precision color inks since 4.5 years ago. I have a second set always ready to go however you can save some money by refilling all the carts on the spot when one goes empty.
Just used this system and will try to summarize my experience. 1. The goal weight of a full cartridge with empty tube and the special clip is 54g. Subtract the current weight from that to figure out the amount of ink in ml to draw out. There's one way to put the cartridge on the holder, I'd mark the side the chip should be on as you slide that part first. 2. Fill the empty tube with the appropriate amount of liquid. I recommend a syringe to avoid bubbling. 3. When using the big tube to add pressure, start at 30ml and push down with thumb strength. At most it should go to 14ml. You don't want the cap to burst off. Let go of pressure to see if any ink comes back up. Often it makes a farting noise when it reaches the sponge. 4. Remove the special clip while the cartridge is in the sink. Squeeze to remove bubbles and clean with a paper towel. Clip the cartridge and put away. 5. Wash the clip and empty tube and repeat per color. Honestly I wished the kit had 10 labeled clips and empty tubes so there wouldn't be any chance of contamination.
You would if they get been left to dry without the orange clip like these in the video. The ink bladder was not collapsed any longer. I said I got these from eBay and did not have the orange clip. From now on this will not happen because the inner ink bladder remains collapsed and the exit port is wet. Ink can go right in.
So do you have to have a syringe for each color, so there's no color contamination? or do you just clean with water between refilling with the next color?
Hello, and thank you so much for your efforts, I’m from Egypt 🇪🇬 and I just bought the system for the pro 300 .. Is it okay to use the same clip for all 10 colors or the sponge in the clip will be messed up ?
you just zero the scale when yo put the holder on it then add the cartridge and weigh as before. also when you use CA glue you can sprinkle sodium bicarbonate around the joint and the sodium bicarb turns into a structural gusset increasing the strength of the joint by quite a bit.
Of course!!!!!!!! Sometimes the obvious passes through my brain. ZERO out the cart holder. Thank you sir. As far as the CA, activator works like that except creates the same type of reaction except it is more transparent. But we now have a perfect durable clip to use rather than the homemade one. Both work just fine though. Thanks.
Hello, Jose! New to refilling inks and haven't done it before. What is the best non-OEM PGI-72 bulk ink for refills? If there are any great choices, does it hold up to the quality of Canon's ink? Does Canon sell their OEM ink in bulk squeeze bottles? Also, best squeeze bottles, needles, and scale to purchase?? Thank you so much!
@@cheo1949 I did see that one which leads to the pro-1000 set. But I did find the set for the Pro-10. What I was not able to find is the refilling clip and the base. I did use the ebay link you provided, but that was not it.
Hello Jose, when owning an Epson with "only 4 slots" for each color, for ink cartridges or bottles,...how can buying a set of either 5, or or 6, can work on one that only has 4 slots? Thank you.
Silvia your question has nothing to do with this video. You need to find inks make specifically for your printer. Assuming if course there are refillable cartridges fur it unless it is an Eco Tank model. You did not state a model so how could I even guess. Inks are not universal. They designed for specific models and can not just be used on any model.
@@cheo1949 I apologize Jose, it's just that you answer on the inks the other day was not clear to me, and i didn't know where else to send my question at. I should of send it from the same place as the other day.

I just cut some packing foam to hold the cart. Only weighs 2.5 grams. With no clip just lift the cart out and put another one in.

I have never had to squeeze any on my canon PRO10 PGI72 ink carts. I put them on my scale and dribble til I get 32g

Do we need a reset for the chip on the cartridge? I don't think Jose when over that.

Hi Jose, would you say that the PRO-10 is still a good printer to buy second hand? Or would you recommend something else?

Canon would NEVER ever sell bulk inks for users to refill.

Precision Inks and Ink Owl are fantastic ones. Just got the siphon thanks to this video...its much neater and worth the 40 dollars.

To go from nearly empty cartridge of OEM ink to Precision color ink, do we need to do a water flush out ?
Not at all. 100% compatible. No reactions from mixing. Output is so close you likely will not a transitional change.
