This is totally brilliant! I just purchased my first carbon steel Case and received it today. Took it out of the package and did exactly as you stated. For context. It’s a Red bone Copperlock. It looks incredible! Thanks for the informative video. Cheers to you!

Thanks brother!! I really like the way the red one came out , although the yellow handled one is unique in itself! The Mora is next!!

I also used the hot apple cider vinegar method to put a forced patina on my Morakniv Companion HD; it worked very well. Thanks very much for sharing and Cheers!

I think both Patina’s look 👀 Amazing. The patina style you chose have a perfect contrast to each color Delron handle on your SodBusters. Thank you for your video and content, Blessings 🙏

Awesome video! Thank you for the advice, just did this on my Bear and Sons Trapper. Love how it turned out, but it didn’t turn out perfect. I believe that’s because I had both blades in the bath at once. My advice is if you have a knife with multiple blades, do them individually. That way the bubbling of each blade doesn’t alter the other’s patina.

Nice tips! Quite often I have a debate with myself. It's either have patience and wait for a patina to form naturally or do it now!

Having the vinegar that hot won’t effect the temp on the blade? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the video. I’m going to do this on my case trapper that is carbon steel I’ve had several over the years, hell I collect case knives I probably have about 40-50 total and throughout my life probably close to a 100 of them, but all of mine are stainless steel other than this 1 trapper I have. My blades are turning black in different places on there own and I was actually looking for a way to get rid of that, but i want to turn the blades black after watching this video. But do you know how to prevent them from turning black if you don’t want them to? Also does doing what you did effect the blade from holding an edge or the strength of the blade? Thanks bro. Take care and God Bless.

Would you know if the vinegar would stain light g10 like on a spyderco?

Very nice. I'm about to receive an Ontario Bushcraft Field Knife in 5160 spring steel that I ordered last week. I want to put a patina on the blade, maybe remove the panels and do the tang as well. How long does a patina treatment last? I've never done this. Thanks for the tutorial video.

Hi there! 5160 is a great steel .. very tough! Congrats on the knife! The patina should last forever! If it does come off at all over time , I would just give it another treatment . Only takes a couple minutes to get done . But should definitely last a while!!

@bostonbladereviews919 Hey! Thanks for the quick response. I'm looking forward to doing this. I'm thinking of what kind of cool pattern to try. I have a silicone basting brush with perfectly spaced bristles that I can apply many small dots of mustard that are evenly distributed on the blade. That might be a cool look. Thanks again and best regards.

The red one is absolutely gorgeous. But you ramble on and on unuslessly onoying
