- An italian scifi movie from 1966, the year of Pet Sounds and Paint it Black. It's no Space Odyssey or even Star Wars, but it's still enjoyable in its own way. It actually reminds me a lot of Danger 5, which is always a good thing.

No science was harmed in the making of this film
Although 50,000 pieces of mail were washed away.
Liar! 😄
This comment really made me chuckle
My hubby was an electronic Tech and he would laugh cause he remembers all the large buttons, knobs and round screens. I saved his old 1950’s ham radio and big antenna and mic. I know he would be chuckling at this. Plus this is in color.
You may laugh at it now,but I remember sitting on the edge of my chair while watching films like this. Back in the fifties space travel was the epitomy of adventure, and we all wanted to go! For its time, this film was a great effort at realism, involving character flaws, jealousy, relationships, and the ever present danger. I give it AOK!
PRA MIM ISTO E OTIMO ACABAR COM A PARANOIA DE TRUMP RELAÇÃO CHIP . AQUI COMIGO E TV .
Old sci-fi like this has charm that can no longer be recreated. The futuristic tech here reminds me of old British sci-fi and even classic Ultraman.

We want a space station of this design and Rocketeledyne rocket packs
Yeah….it’s so corny…Was this a Gerry and Sylvia Anderson first attempt,as teenagers……ha ha😅😅😊
What a classic can't beat these old sci-fi movies
Beats ANYTHING made today!
Makes an episode of ufo look sophisticated
This brings back the childhood memories. Back then this was so believable, high tech movies. Laying on the floor in front of the TV with a huge bowl of dry Cherrios. Then the Twilight Zone and Outer Limits came later. Best you could get. Well, back then anyway.
The original twilight zone is still great tv.
what did you ever end up doing in life?
Love old scifi like this. Those three guys floating around in space are being "tossed about like leaves in the wind." When one guy jumps off the station he looks like he's swimming. I love it!
They appear to have fabulous hair stylists in space.
"..opposite corners of the globe." Gimme a minute on that one.
Proof globes are ALL flat! Not *just* Earth.
This is Number 4 of the Gamma One space movies -- commissioned by MGM for TV in 1964, filmed in Italy in 1965, rejected from TV and shown in Italian theaters in 1966, shown in American theaters in 1967, and syndicated on American TV in the 1970s.
I love Wild Wild Planet!
What are the others? And post links if on you tube? Please?
This fine Italian scifi movie features the most realistic space walk scenes ever put on film! The scenes reflect the little known fact that gravity is variable and causes back and forth motion (in space) as well as arms and legs drooping while the ass is elevated above the astronauts somewhat weightless body. The best of the best.
Helmet, check:
Spacesuit, check:
Hatchet, check....ya just never know when yer gonna have to hack some shit up in space.
I have to tell you, for back in the day this film was well done and expensive! It may look cheap by today's huge budgets and CGZi, but this was almost state of the art back then. And it was an Italian production! This was huge for them!
It's a pity they didn't hire decent actors, a couple do ok, but mostly they come across as having a large dildo shoved up their ass.
Christian Buczko Or maybe the Italian actors were superb, but the dubbing actors sucked.. 💪
@@christianbuczko1481 You are a classy guy.
I like the quaint little wobble the space station had as it serenely rotated in space. And Commander Rod Jackson looks like he could be an early version of Ace Rimmer.
What a guy!
Awesome action figure gets sucked into the "cold magma." And the Eva flights can barely keep from swinging. This is sci-fi at its finest.
CATASTROPIES ON ALL 5 CONTINENTS..2 continents were spared the concurrent events.
It's always fun to watch a new old sci-fi film😁
Not if your wife is home.
this was fun to watch and see the awful model planes and space rockets.
@@kuei12 ...why?
Did you notice how all the actors look like they could have been on the set of an Italian gladiator movie the day before this movie?
Lol maybe they were. Italian actors repeat in many of these b movies.
Very enjoyable, and very well made. The soccer ball helmet - perfect.
One thing about Italian Sci-fi. The actors always have awesome hair.
LOL 😜
lol so true
The b;onde guy does!!
2:45
Exception to the rule.
They invented it
Very high tech movie for the year it was made. Must have been really cool to watch at the drive in back in the day.
To me this one is better than most. I thought it funny as hell that the lab coats buttoned from the back with like 20 buttons. Great movie and thanks for sharing.
"I'm convinced it's a space problem." And "send out a top secret announcement." Classic hahaha.
It's a b - film
There united democratics of course they run the government like this.bb
Excellent movie! Thank you so
much for uploading 👍💖👏
Thank you sooo much. I remembered this movie from when I was a kid and was always trying to find out which movie it was. Real distinctive name “War Between the Planets”. I knew it was something like that.
I always remembered the “planet” with the arteries that were self-healing. And the catastrophic effects on the Earth.
Have no idea what I thought at the time, but was (obviously) fascinated by the “wild planet”. They didn’t even try to communicate with it or find out anything about it before blowing it up. Cpt Picard would not have approved.
I've literally been searching for this movie for 50 years. I remember seeing it with my family at the Delancy St. Theater in the 70's I didn't know the name of it. I just remembered the living planet with the vains...Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
My God! What an utter stinker! Fantastic!
@19:23 "in the vaccum of space 3 men are tossed around like leaves in the wind" lol really enjoyed it
These Italian Science movies are a riot. Wild Wild Planet and Mission Stardust are classics.
Wonderful!! They don't make 'em like that any more... and I love the toy cars and space craft!
So crazy! Really wonderful.
All sarcasm aside... Howie Benatovitch.....You did a Good job uploading this film for us. Thanks.
You're welcome, enjoy!
@@PaquiChipSkylar We are still enjoying it 3 years later.. thanks
I love these old B movies
I don't care what NASA says ... you need wings in space, plus they look so COOL!
Less than 3 minutes into the movie, and I like it. Everybody knows that the city was a small scale model, but strangely enough, that's what captivated me about other Italian sci fi films in the '60s. If I'm correct, the officer who said that he wants to fight it with his bare hands, he's going to be absorbed by the planetoid. Yeah, yeah, I've seen this one before, but it's something to watch on Thanksgiving.
They forgot that there's no sound in space. No air, no sound.
Good movie for its time.
Check out the perfect hair on the commander in charge….he should be walking around with a mirror in front of him……ha ha ha😂😂
Well I made it though the movie, I'll never be the same But it's better than most of the movies nowadays!!!
We've lost 50 000 pieces of mail... God help us!🤣🤣🤣🤣
At first, I thought this was a documentary... and I was terrified! But finally, at the end, I saw the credits and realized this is just a movie. Thank goodness! Really had me fooled there!
Wow. This is actually a pretty good entertaining flick. Thank you!
Best movie ever
WHAT A WONDERFUL FILM. JUST THE MEDICINE NEEDED TO DIVERT FROM THE BAD STUFF GOING ON. GREAT MOVIE. THANKS FOR SHARING.
Bad stuff? Do you mean the strike at the pudding factory.`?
The The Snow Devils is also part of the Gamma-1 series directed by Margherity( Anthony Dawson)
They are going to do "a full scale search of outer space" -that are going to take some time i guess.
Am just imagining what the modern outer space movies are going to look like to us in 50 years.
Smarter than this one, hopefully!
"Hey Marge! I just found a really old scifi movie from around the year 2020 in the attic. The video player they used back then was up there too. But get this: when the movie is playing, all you can do is watch it from the outside. You can't CLIMB INSIDE!"
Wow what an awesome flick. Reminds me of a human Thunderbirds movie.
So nice, for the budget and the journey.
"mass hysteresis" "human sacrifice, cats and dogs living together". 🤣🐕🐈
I havn't seen this one before and I thought I had seen them all. So bad it's good. Thanks for the upload.
Cool fins on those cars, better than what was on the 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville.
We used to have an old DeSoto with fins like not. Not quite so high, but still very dramatic.
The film makers have used the same costumes and automobiles in the opening scenes as used in Wild, Wild Planet, also made in Italy in 1966.
Same director too, I believe
This is great !! Thanks so much for uploading !!
Interesting Italian interpretation of interstellar interests. Fun way to spend an hour and note the similarities with other Scifi flicks like even though there is no gravity nor any atmosphere to slow you down, everyone moves in slow motion when in space; or the roominess of rockets and space stations! Cheesy as expected so I loved it-thanks for posting.
for its time it seemed still enjoyable but I'm a fossil for the classic sci fi movies I guess, decent enough acting the characters seemed convincing, a regular little gem of a movie.
Love the old stuff.
The floating space scenes with the totally obvious harness and wires are classic. Gotta get ready for that gravitational chain reaction. Be here any minute.
"Why wasn't I informed!" Says the General three or four times in this movie.
The "anti matter" bomb looks like a refrigerator part.
That woman who takes Ricky's hand at end, something about her hairstyle strongly brings to mind Maya from Space:1999.
The cars they used to build for these old sci-fi movies look cool as fuck and I want one :D
Giacomo, best HAIR in all of Italian cinema. I went as him at Halloween. Love you and miss you!
I want one of those George Jetson cars!
Always wanted a car with Fins!!
Spock it's so good to see you again and how is heaven it's it way better than here?
I just bought one from ebay.
It's almost 2020, and I still don't have a flying car, I'm pissed !
Oh yeah me too me too lol
ah...sweet euro sci fi. decent sets and props, incomprehensible stories.
I remember this from when I was a kid - thanks for posting it!
This movie actually looks more realistic than those with modern-day special effects
It's funny. I liked.
No it doesn't.
Because real special effects will always be superior to digital ones. Because the former manage to look cheap and fake regardless of the budget.
Thank you for this, I enjoyed it very much.
This film is also titled "Planet On The Prowl".
I love the fins on the back of the floaty car things!
50,000 pieces of mail were lost when a flood inundated the post office and the week before dogs ate all the mail... it happens all the time in my town.
It happened recently in Atlanta.....very prescient.....😉
it took a few tokes to really enjoy this one!
Third in the Gamma One series. The first two are "Wild Wild Planet" (a fun film) and "War of the Planets" (which isn't available online). The last two are "Snow Devils" and "The Green Slime" (a camp classic). Thanks for making this available here.
It's amazing I can find modern ripped fiLms easily. Italian scifi classics no such luck
Actually the Gamma One Quadrilogy by Antonio Magheriti consists of in this order: 1. Wild, Wild, Planet - 1966, 2. War Of The Planets - 1966, 3. War Between The Planets - 1966, 4. Snow Devils - 1967
I enjoyed war between the planets many thanks for posting.
Good thing he took along his space hatchet 😅
The two main male & female actors in this movie ( the Commander & Lieutenant) play in "Snow Devils". Both films directed by same person.
LOVE the Aesthetics!
I love how it started out sounding like Dragnet LoL!
Amazing to think I saw this at the cinema in the mid 70s, it was playing as the support feature, alas I don't recall the main film but I always remembered bits of this for some reason.
Anti-matter bomb and he happened to bring a hatchet with him.
it is always wise to have equipment for emergencies and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
Hahaha lovely movie - particularly enjoyed seeing that helicopters can fly in outer space ;)
To be fair, the choppers were on earth; the spacecraft took off to the space station. People were walking around in normal clothing. Interesting point was how, back in those days, spacecraft were aerodynamic. A spacecraft doesn’t need to be aerodynamic to “fly” in a vacuum.
That's simple, the helicopter has their own air supply so the rotors can get lift ! Surely you know that lol
One of the first films directed by Antonio Margheriti, who's name has been mentioned in a couple of Tarantino's flicks.
Marr-gerr-rhee-tay!
Great movie, very moving at the end.
I don't know why, it keeps reminding me of "Plan 9 from Outer Space"...
Italians were always good at making Italian movies
SE TEM ME VISTO NAS PAGINAS DE FEICBOOK SIM LÁ TEM FOTO E NO ESTRAGAM TBM . TEVE FOTO .
I've always thought a feathered acetalyne flame would make a much more believable rocket exhaust.
+ oxygen
Or if they used propane or map gas with a small orifice
This type of movies are the great grandfather of scifi movies. they where good movies for the times
to bad people love to nit pick at everything now days.
I know happens all the time
True man .. they're just stories, from earlier times, and we have the luxury of watching movies from present all the way back to beginning of tv .. for free. Ingrates. Wherever there is something to eat there will be flies.
I very often wind up talking about and, to some extent, defending films from this general era and a little earlier (the 1950's), films that are often picked on like THIS ISLAND EARTH or WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE, THE MOLE PEOPLE, CONQUEST OF SPACE, THE LAND UNKNOWN etc etc., but they are giants of perfect film making compared to some of the films at the time, and this is a perfect example. NO one thought these films were remotely acceptable in any way as even semi-serious SF tales. These were just laughed at out loud in the theater (yes, including this one which I saw in a theater on its original release. My friends and i were all around 11-12 at the time and just thought this was ridiculous. The "effects" were ridiculous, a real hoot. I'm always shocked when films like this are lumped in with films like the above---THIS ISLAND EARTH, etc---because even a cursory examination reveals a HUGE difference in quality- between those and this one--the acting, visual effects, stories etc. Sorry, if this comes off as "mean", but...this is pretty sloppy film making, and as fake as it gets...maybe with the exception of Ed Wood's "productions".. YET...I DO appreciate people who make any effort to appreciate some of the "less perfected" work from years long past. And I DO appreciate that this was done here. My main point is that these films were made with many differences in quality, and I hate to have them all dismissed as all being equal. (End of rant...:-)
I fell asleep 5 times during this movie....Woke up at the ending credits.....not playing it back....lol
The good news is that most cases of insomnia can be cured with movies like this
I know what you mean! I have finally made it to the end of this despite having started it probably 4 times previously.
@@dianamusto6109 that's how I watched Sharknado5
Reminds me of a story I read about a ship that had a room that had things hanging down that you could--- "mate" with!
Very like Star Trek, the sets, props and costumes, obviously of the same time period. Kirk,Spock or Bones could have beamed in at any moment and looked right at home. "I'll have a house salad, the lasagna and a glass of Chianti".
Gee , the far future doesn't bode well for balding guys as they still haven't discovered a cure apparently .
Or for low back pain.....d@mn shame......think the Star Trek universe was better to all us old gits......😲😂
Way ahead of its time --- helicopters that fly in outer space.....sooooooo far advanced than what we have not.
Guys, the wires... I can totally see the wires holding you up during your spacewalk scenes...
+Sean D. Daily hahahahah
They weren't actually out in space when this film was made. Free fall was entirely "do the best you can" .
I love the flying cars😃⭐️😍
"Stand by for weight gain..." wish they'd told me that before i turned 30, lol!
The Captain in this movie looks like he woke up Mad and stayed that way during the whole recording of this movie. Not a fan.
DEFINITELY a candidate for our "Bad Movie NIght"! thanks for uploading!
@1:00 ~ "...arrives to begin the FULL SCALE SEARCH of outer space..." That's one tall order. Apparently the Italians have a penchant for hyperbole! Oh, and that red hover car seems to have escaped from a 'Jetson's' episode.
I remember seeing this at the drive-in a loooong time ago...it was the last movie of the night I believe.
I appreciate the extent they went to, to portray the future. Especially the electronic panels.
This film has permanently injured my suspension of disbelief capacity.
