    Hi, I would like to open the valve cover to check the timing chain and change the gasket as I am also leaking a little oil. I have already changed the oil and the oil filter. If I open the valve cover will the oil flow? I don't know what to expect. The oil should still be in the sump, right?

    Its probably too late, but can you do a video show your method of cleaning the old oil off?

      I’d use either or! Which ever is cheaper!

    I have a 2014 Hyundai Tucson 2.4L Limited. with an oil leak coming from the valve cover gasket. I could smell burning oil from it running down onto the exhaust manifold heat shield.
    A few posts suggest that the high pressure fuel line and fuel pump installation bolts should be replaced at the same time as their one time use. Others suggest that since the fuel pump isn't being replaced, that torqued to spec is more then suffice.
    Are these parts necessary to be replaced for a simple valve cover gasket replacement? Or should I continue to top up engine oil and hold off til I can source parts?

      You’re referring to the high pressure fuel pipe that goes from the pump to the injector rail. That is technically a one time use pipe and “should” be replaced.

    How are you going to pinch the gasket by putting it in cover???What do you mean by this comment?

    Good Job and I like those side lift jacks for changing oil.

    Hypothetically let’s say the bolt by the #3 coil broke off. How effed am I?

      Hypothetically if it’s the bolt that holds the coil down I’d attempt to drill it out and extract with an extractor

      It’s the bolt that holds the valve cover down. It’s just one of the center bolts by the coils. Can i still drill it?

      @SEsGarage  Před 5 měsíci

      @@LarryIsbell-bu8tz pull the valve cover back off and see how it broke. If it’s flush drilling is your only option. If it’s sticking out a bit you may be able to grab it with a turbo socket or vice grips

    I have a question I have a 2012 Kia forte with that same motor but I was wondering what is the torque rating should I set the bolts at on the valve cover cuz I'm going to be replacing my valve cover gasket because mine is leaking into the spark plug Wells anyway keep up the amazing CZcams video
