Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

Laraine Newman is probably thinking, “Wow, the SNL skit I could make out of these attorneys!”
It’s kinda creepy how Durst turns himself toward the audience whenever there’s a long break. I get the feeling he’s trying to intimidate someone. Maybe I feel this way because he looks sketchy and because I think he’s murdered at least three people.
It's so weird how Susan borrowed money from so many people. I don't think that's normal.
From what I gather, she seemed to cling to people who would be a monitary asset to her. I wonder if she felt as "close" to those "friends" who speak so highly of her as they did about her.

Lewin is a prime example of being book smart but absolutely terrible in practice. He's far too temperamental for the job
@raga raga I'm not sure - if he hasn't I'm sure there's a load of plea deals in that number. It's harder to lose a murder case than win one.
