I remember this level giving me months of trouble... I had collected all the cogs and couldn't find anything to do with them. I remember jumping and exploring the jungle for hours and hours to find some area to continue the stage... And nothing.... I had no choice but to read spoilers and find that there was a left direction when you started the stage and this all I had to do was go backwards.... That's exactly what sums up tomb raider "going backwards to to finish stages"... Still till this day nothing beats this game, it was so impressive and the exploration was top notch... I remember one stage you started at the mouth of an entrance and then 2 hours later you end up on top of that mouth to start the next stage.... The backtracking was insane
Playing right now, it's the other way around for me. I dropped down the waterfall into the cave and hit a dead end, so I backtracked to the start and zig-zagged across the stream.
@@ArtemyMalchuk When I was a kind I've never beaten this. I have found the first secret to the left but found the entrance to the valley only after a very long time. Last thing I remember being at the top of the bridge to pick up the first cog but never finished the level. It is a small master piece of the level though.
I like this. Its straight to the point without any random jumping or commentary.

Man I could have not figured out the cogwheel part and what it did. Old games just hit different, there's no handholding mf you figure out everything yourself however you want lol

Oh man ive got a glitch, when i turn the wheels i still have no water to swim through to the secret place and i cant just walk there and jump up. Damn
Wow ! A lot can happen in 12 years you should do a video on the new tomb raider remaster version.
I found a little area in this level near the rushing waters that had a door that could only be accessed through a gold key. I have no idea what its for since I didn't find any gold key during this level.

Thats where you start, is the end of the level 2 where you use the gold key
